It's clearly addressed in proposal:
To prevent abuse you can curse only once per game/day/whatever will work best, so it can't be used effectively by greifers themselves or over petty stuff. Being cursed 2-3 times shouldn't matter much, and your karma decays to neutral, so you are being "forgiven" your misdeeds over time. Well it is yours that aren't conviencing eithers. If there were conviencing they already would be implemanted.
If you want to find them, use the search function.
Lineage ban is already a cursing tool, the ban is bigger if the population is higher. You can't come back in the family you were, which is fine, he will end up eve if he tries to hard.
So you better kill him instead of waiting for him to die of oldness to curse him, which sounds silly. That is how you deal with griefers.
Even if you can curse once, you can make other people curse dead people and I'm sure they wouldn't mind. If you can curse once a while in the whole family, then griefer would curse someone before being cursed.
See, it doesn't work.

Why do you push that much on punishement systems ? We already make the tour a month ago, I'm sorry to be negatve but I just repeat why all rejected suggestions were rejected.
I agree with the those that think a murderer should have some sort of bad consequence for the action but also that medicine should be added to the game for the victim or villagers to administer.
We already went throught that like ten times, medicine and consequences, it is no.
The bad consquences of killing is the super long freeze, blood and the scream. Which always make you kill because the stabbed guy screams your name.
There shouldn't be consequences over than that because game cannot tell if it was a good kill or just a murder. Imagine having the crown, you always end up killing people trying to kill you for your social position.
Even if my killers failed, they should go in the bad place not me. See, ladders system doesn't work.
Game cannot detect if your behaviour was bad or good. And griefers will understand how it works to sniper more easily peaceful players.
New players will end up with bad players, I don't mean griefers, just players having troubles playing. As they are bad, system would send them in the bad place. = huge bad game experience.
And medecine, murderers would keep the medecine hidden before kill. So it will rather be a murderers item. It would even promote to murders with a buddy. Big slaugthers.
Having no back up weapon is hard. If he is the only one armed you're pretty much screwed. You rather flee, or dodge the guy until he drops he knife by mistake which is unlikely to happen.
Knife is super powerful, I always make a backpack and knife when I can, even when it is peaceful, so I don't have to deal with the making when there is a griefer.

Killer is born into mine settlement as child, eats my food, uses my resources or gathers enough to make a bow and arrows, lures in a bear, and shoots fleeing people in the back. It's early settlement. If I start making bows and arrows for self defence instead of other usefull tools, I most likely starve before he shows up.
Since milkweed has been nerf it is was harder to find them in wild.
You should rather focus on making only a bow or arrow, depend of the situation you want to get into. You will hide it, you better use your time in food making. But be aware, when murderer shows up, try to dodge, if he fails, try to take the arrow and get the bow. If your place is full of item you can dodge there, arrow will desapear, follow the murderer with bowl of popcorn and try to take his bow and then return take the arrow.
Or you just can flee, which is a gamble that depends of your suvival skills.
Oh my god, I was the shroom dealer! Also I completely agree with everything you said. Everything was very relaxed and didn't have the same rushed feeling it did in the past. Food was very sustainable because of the new popcorn, and now it feels like you can do more of the things that you want to in the short life that you have in this game. Overall, amazing update.

Some people said murder numbers were like 1% of the death. Jason said once 2% long time ago. When things go bad I stab useless people, griefers and killers, crown stealers. Even if I'm the good guy i end up killing people pretty often
When I'm an eve's child, I poke bear caves before suiciding. Somebody will do it anyway, I just spear them some time, they should gratefull to me.
I miss the time we did have like 300-500 players at the same time.
I miss browsing around and finding new villages and family.
I miss raiding little farms
I miss the time we had roads and each of them leaded us somewhere.
I miss the time when a griefer couldn't destroy an entier village, now when we lost it something, we can't get it back, it gets wipe.
I miss the time when 1 pine wall didn't cost 5 full composts.
I miss cities and all the crazy things going on in it.
I miss what gave the hype for game, civilizations we will never had. We are just rags and stay rags

I miss ruling more than 2 cities
I miss feasts and rituals
I miss wars.
I miss when there were enough food to have real conversation instead of few key words.
I miss when we were king with real power, not a hobo with the crown that mean I have to work the hardest, the rest is retarded.

I miss the exciting parts that have been removed because it didn't fit to the hardcore view jason had.
Even when it was easier to make compost, it was super hard to tell people to make them. Now it is just a rush to hide food before it is too late. The civilizations are jokes, now it is mostly about surviving in your ranch with naked people, which I cannot bear it anymore.
I really used to like the game but it is everytime harder to get back in and having interactions with people.
I know the game isn't supposed to be more than 40 hours life time but you wont ever learn the entier game in 40 hours. This had so much potential when we were many. Am I just too stupid to realise why people left. Is the game is dying, I mean, taking a new shape. But a shape that isn't that much exciting as before. What we have to do now is... farming and manage the sheeps.
I dont wake up anymore thinking about what players have made new. I don't even check my family lineage now because it is so obvious they were too lazy to survive. Or they have been killed by someone as bored as me.
I just wanted to tell what I miss, what was fun and ''tirer un coup de gueule" in french. Slight modifications changed everything.
People kills because that is the least annyoing thing to do. You can not make a game with less than 40h gameplay if the learning curve is high than that. No wonder 2hol is getting popular. Except you can't kill so I wont go there xD
What you might misundrstood, sc0rp, is that the game, even us, cannot makes the different between action while reading the input done, if it is good or bad because it depends of the situation. It's just of letters and numbers. As said before : Is feeding sheep with all the last remaining food good or bad ? Is killing somebody cutting trees good or bad, etc...

This thread is supposed to closed, lineage ban has been put instead. I dunno why you dont read why it isn't possible.
1. You can't put good or bad behaviour over an action. How can you say killing is bad if it killed a griefer ? How can you say doing compost is good if the dude uses all the food for that ?
2. Not enough players to separate them. Game drops at 30 players sometimes. If we already has 3 ladders or heaven hell and normal, they wont be enough players to substain all servers.
3. The game isn't about making everyone an hard worker but making them live life. Good or bad or wierd. Somebody having a roleplay life is supposed to go down because he played the game , instead of farming a job that gives the chance to go up in ladder and keep farming to not drop, pretty boring.
4. Deal with problems, griefing is undetectable, learn how to catch griefers, I never had a griefering problem since a month. Griefers are bad players who are inefficients, are they supposed to go to hell ? I rather not

i think stoning should just disarm slow murderers, then you get the knife to kill them
this way slow murderers have a risk. but it doesn't introduce a new way to kill everyone else
also you can get the knife away, determine if the killing was actually justified or not, and possibly not kill them too
They already have the risk to be killed at any moments.
And taking weapons from murderer is plain stupid, have you ever seen what happen when two guys fight in town ? everybody start to kill each others when someboey drops the knife, if one can survive he will come back kill people. The knife has already recieve 5 nerfs. Killing is part of the game, it isn't meant to disepear.
Few last times I started to kill people when I was showing the game to my friend, I got stabbed back right back, not even mad. People learned how to react way more quickly than before.

You don't think people would break the lineage intentionally to make their own? Flee their mother, cuss at her if she tries to name them, etc? I don't think it's a good idea. Having her last name automatically is way better

It is better to let unnamed people chose their family name instead of letting them shout their new named every 2 secondes.
It's a bad and good thing for someone able to name their own family name, so I'm not sure about that
But I suggest we can name the nameless child. I was a mother and when taking care of my own baby, a mother died leaving her own kid
so I kinda taking care of him, and he didn't have a name yet since his mom died.
I tried giving him name but I can't, I think there should be a way for Eve to give nameless child name, not just their own mother
since there are babies who's left by dying mom or abandoned
I have suggested once to be able to adopt, that is really needed
This has not been fully worked out just yet.
There will be some other changes to farming, wells, and soil in the next update.
I'm really trying to move away from "unlimited but fragile supplies of X," because that means there are no more decisions to make, and you just need to make sure everyone is careful and follows the rule. I've seen the eternal milkweed farms, where you just walk buy and pick whichever plant is fruiting when you walk by. Nice that some ancient relative set this up for us, but now we're kinda done thinking about milkweed forever.
What I want is more of this: We have these resources available right now, and where should we commit them? For example, when do we have enough excess soil and water that we can grow some milkweed on the side? Even deciding where to spend the milkweed should be an interesting decision (but only if supply is limited).
Berry bushes will likely change too, though I'm somewhat stuck on exactly how they will work. At least there are still decisions to make in maintaining them, assuming that water becomes more limited again.
Even if we were picking milkweed when fruiting and having infinit of them, it didn't mean the job was easy, we were lacking of milkweed all the time. The only pine houses I have seen were in the record breaking generation runs. Now pines stuff is greifing now matter what.
It frustates me that eve can choose a family name but the unnamed people of the lineage can't have their own family name. Why do all families finish without family name.
I think it could makes people more proud of their work if their can name themself. It would make more people start off their own villages next to the one their were and family stays with their own.
Just like in real life you have cousins that don't have your family name. You will have different interactions instead of the ones you have with people that always will be related to you but not knowing at which point.
I really hope we could one day capture people instead of killing them, chain them to something and make them work, sell them or anything else.
It could had much social interaction. I really hope we could achieve social positions one day :
- privilegied people : crowned ones as always
- Normies : free to do what ever they want, such as working.
- Slaves : his freedom depends of the lenght of his chain. His master can move him in different areas.

Some of you might already know that, but anyway, here some history before I start talking about one true cult :
One of the first religion in the game was the Jason god religion, the developper was god for some people. Of course there were others such as the carrot god religion or the berrislam. Anyway, Jason created the green grass you walk on, the fresh blue sky nobody has ever seen. We were the first humans enjoying this paradise. We builded towns, temples, roads, we had civilisations and we were plenty, we were even creating city rules and traditions. It was flourishing everywhere until something happened : Jason finally spoke through our minds :《 I heard, you all prayed and it was very convincing, shall your wishes become reality, I will show you my vision of the futur 》. We had no clue of what it could be.
Then the 7 Apocalypses began, sea level rised, sun disappeared. Everbody went mad, Everything was gone, all servers got wipe out. Thousands, what I am saying, millions of hours were gone. We subished 7 apocalypses, each of them was nailing us even more everytime, and then nothing. Everything was sterile. Nobody was there except some rags. We were hobos by now.
We didn't forget our past but we knew we wont ever live again what we experienced. People and their mentality changed, Jason wasn't the main god jere anymore, new spirits and ways of thinking appeared such as the Great Mushroom Cult. We understood that mushrooms give the ability to travel into the past, they gave us answers to our questions. We do not need more spirits nor gods nor anything else : We rejected everything. Anyobody trying to deny the Cult is a threat to us and the past we defend.
We protect the world against monoliths, so cultists like us fights all Jason religious zealots and other strange religions such ad the Anti-Spider God because they might reactivate a monolith one day. We have to save the world and let mushrooms open us to a new better place.
We need cultists to save this world, We need you.

You should rather look when murders have been committed and see at which hours there are more murderers and be careful at this time.
I have been stop playing since 2 or 3 weeks but I used to kill at least 3 people per life while being the good guy.
Finally, everytime I asked somebody for a duel they said no.
