Oh yes, people throwing a flat rock on the fire you just made to roast a rabbit/goose are terrible. The bread thing can have one exception if the berry farm is currently broken (out of whatever reason) *one* bread for kids and elder is reasonable even if you have mutton. Or yes people that think it's a good idea to maintain two large fires at the same time...
Other thing:
* Eating carrots.
I agree, albeit not an old player. I was about to blame this game to sometimes bring out the worst of me but then remembered, it's massive-multiplayer-online-gaming generally. Meaning there is no shortage of "others" and thus I consider to have little endurance to work out sh***. Especially as some people will just blandly lie. I just remembered the WoW times when I developed my "one strike out" policy. Make a negative impression even once and they are on my permanent ignore and never to raid with them again list, had even a mod to track it. I can't remember the details, but one was for example leaving anytime before the raid was over and I didn't care how good the excuse was.
PS: the sad thing, in "real life" i'm totally not that kind of person...
Things that I consider rude:
------------------------------
* Taking kindle out of any oven/kiln. Seriously somebody put it there for a reason and I know everybody considers their current project the most important one, but seriously taking it for example out of the kiln to put in your oven or as fire starter is just rude.
* Standing around in the smithy. Smithy needs fast movement to be efficient. Lollygagging within the smithy (area) is just pestering the smithy for no reason.
* Taking a flat stone or round stone out of the smithy. Similar reason, if you want to make fried eggs get another flat stone, don't take the one out of the smithy.
* Taking the round or sharpened stone from the bakery. Same as smithy.
* Making baskets out of straw unless if there isn't on every field one ready made compost already (or ok at early upstart from wild straw)
* Making locks. Nothing good gets ever out of them, unless maybe for signs. Everything else, just wasting iron and causing trouble.
* Standing in the cold, raising your kids and pick them up every second... then munch up a whole mutton pie every other minute... (okay this is likely just not-knowing-better-ness).
* Carrying a knife, not doing anything knife related jobs when, while there is a need piling up. If you are the only person with a knife -- "for security" -- and skinned sheep pile up in the pen, and uncut bread in the bakery, you're doing it wrong.
Things that I consider close to griefing already:
----------------------------------------------------
And thus might me put people on the watchlist and if they don't stop after one warning, getting a knifing. Also combined (tell them off on one of these things and see them do another soon later). Or if I just had another bad experience a knifing right away.
* Breeding dogs. As of the game mechanics there is no use of them, not even lasting decorative. It wastes resources, fills bowls with hard to get rid of carnitas and has a high chance you're doing this only to make a mean pit bull attack. Or a wolf farm to kite into the village.
* Making bowls of carnitas. Same reason unless there is a convincing effort visible to make tacos. And in this case I will watch closely that person actually make tacos and not dogs.
* Sheering the last sheep. Even if there is the odd chance to hit a newbie with this, I've more than once a griefer acting hypocritical innocent when caught "oh I didn't know, sry." Then 3 minutes later they do it again...
* Cutting down any juniper tree. I don't care if there is another available. Cutting them down makes fire making much harder and every juniper tree cut maybe by a good intentioned person because the other is not far or even nearer, just makes the job for a potential griefer much easier.
* Same for maple. Cut down a maple tree and you'll be in trouble. (Albeit in contrast to junipers they could regrown)
* Carrying more than one knife. There may be the odd chance you found one in the wild while you had one. Or there are really only trouble makers around. But the town would be better off distributing it to busy workers (who are obviously productive). Generally I'll assume you want to starve the town of weapons just to prepare for a massacre...
* Taking the file or the smithing hammer out of the smithy.
Anything else?
The issue is, community has to learn a bit, people are cursing to fast when they see a murder without knowing whats happening and cursing to few people who are deliberately griefing by intentional other disruptive behavior (like you massproducing knifes and hoping for the drama to unfold)
And honestly the griefers in the game already taught me to have very low tolerance. Too much already seen this "innocent" act. "What sir? Sry didn't know one isn't supposed to shear the last sheep". Only to see them do it in 2 minutes again and then again. Or like clearing deserving their knifing and then run around "curse XY he is a killer!!!".
Sabotaging other lineages while playing as a child of these to help "your" lineage is just terrible and a way to break the game completely as it is, should this become a trend.
Usually I used to play on server2... but in that "0 daughers" topic someone suggested town survivability may be better as players get assigned to lower servers when the general influx is smaller I tried out server1 again. At first it was okay, but after 10 minutes it was so lagy it just wasn't playable. Someone with a dung-shovel asked me to water dry compost heap, I wanted to but after 2 minutes trying to pick up that bowl, apply it to a bucket I gave up. (I'm from Europe if this matters)
PS: The village I was born into amazed me, yes so much more organisation than the average village/town compared to other servers. For example, I saw an in-town mosquito encased in 8 tower bell bases. Never seen that before. But if it just isn't playable due to lag it doesn't help.
If this are blue wool shirts vs. red wool shirts let them have their fun. It seems both sides voluntarily participated in this mini-game. If anybody starts to talk n-word-bullshit or nazi stuff in game, they deserve a curse, thats griefing (those only want to anger you)
I don't think the PvP mechanics are much interesting in this game and don't quite understand why those people don't play counterstrike or eve knows what. But shrug.
Sad as it sounds, if it wasn't about the shirt-fighters, that town would sooner or later have died never the less as most do... in the low player hours a generation of males / and or suiciding female noobs and over and out.
I'd love to see where you took this from
To make a concrete suggestion, odds of male/female should be based on family alive below 40. If there are more boys than females alive, the more likely it would balance and vice versa.
PS: For the realism talkers, this ain't even unrealistic. As to why is there in almost all species with sexual division the distribution about 50/50? Because being the rarer sex is a major evolutionary advantage that thus will soon even out.
Lack of girls is just one of the many ways this game is made realistic.
Can you be more historically specific? As far as I know, there is only one civilization that killed themselves off for good and that was the Easter Island and not because of no girls, but because they ruined their environment for religious purposes until the island could not sustain them any longer.
If there was a time where humanity was reduced to a handful females then this was way in the beginning of stone age.
PS: "Eves", "realistic", "immaculate conception" having to resist to make a sarcastic comment...
Keep an eye on your baby then, simple enough. Some babies that I have go and taunt bears but that's just for science, plus just stack up on arrows.
This is true for the "baby-retaliation" for being ignored. For the griefer baby there is no eye keeping as it can run just as fast.
It would be nice, but two issues:
My guess it would make server bandwidth skyrocket as client/server instead of only telling each other but clicks and actual in game movement would have to tell each other about mouse movements. There is way more mousemove than clicking and even if you reduce it only to update each other to say once every 2 seconds it's still about double the bandwith.
Second issue, this is not going to be touchscreen friendly in case jason plans to bring out a mobile client in any future that play on the same servers.
lot of moms don't even notice your existence, i will poke a bear every time im left alone , without a sry or at least 2 seconds of stopping
i don't mind being abandoned, but if she thinks any baby is worst than her than she deserves a bear
pein, wow, thats the first counter argument here I agree with.
only thing is, possibly not the mum is suffering as retaliation, but other bystanders.
I absolutely agree, and not wanting to sound sexist (sorry its in the game) but this is a job I like to do especially when born female, since you are always near town in case you give birth.
I only disagree with the trash pit. Thats waste of shovel. I just move the trash or "close to trash" stuff away about 2 screens from the town so it either can decay in peace or maybe someone finds a use for it afterall.
I also like to make boxes. Unfortunately someone will turn them into a cart sooner or later.

I had a similar experience, I was a women aged about 45 and had a younger brother... all my children suicided and all others were gone too. We decided we wanted to go "together in death" and stab each other.
So I stabbed him... and then we realized he just can't pickup the knife anymore to return the favor...
Well at least my first in game kill..
Buried him and then decided I want to go away locking my self in with 4 tower bell bases. I just imagine a wanderer coming buy and seeing e.g. the knife as only thing left completely encased. Failed to set the forth wall in place just a by a few moments...
Everyone should have the freedom to grief though.
To make that statement applicable you are missing "at any moment".
This is where I frankly disagree.. In my opinion they should have to invest at least a tiny little, that is to wait 4 minutes until they are 4.
And as in the other thread been said, there is something different in being an antagonist and being a griever.
Griefers are there to ruin everyone else's fun, period. That's how they get their fun. They're simply hooligans. They're not playing the black pieces against your white in chess; they're the kids who steal the king while your back is turned and then laugh at you when you try to figure out where the king went.
Perhaps as the alcohol wears off the rate of hunger increases slightly before settling back to normal shortly thereafter.
I believe this is simply of alcohol actually having lots of calories. Almost twice as much as sugar. Which many alcoholic drinks contain as well.

In real life can you controll if you get a girl or a boy? No i thought so.
Well but it's a game and not real life after all. And nobody asked to get a in game decision/control.
BTW: with today technology, yes you could.
yeah i just lost a city bc i was the only girl, and had five boys. well, technically three, as one had decided to retry to come back in the family as a girl, but just came back as another boy, and one had sids. i stood on an even tile, ate when i got hungry, and had clothes on the ready to give to any girl i had to spoil her and insist she stay. but i didnt have any. which sucks, bc that city just died, full of food, at least six stacks of iron on the ready, clothes everywhere... and just no girls.
I guess we're talking about the same lineage. That was me:

I killed myself off by running away naked at the age of 50. Seems Desean actually had yet a daughter just after I went of afterall. But next generation all the same again:

Final lineagecide by 5 nephews in a row at the end....
As my Great Great Niece (is I guess you) said on her death bed, this was a boring life. Drowning in resources yet to be wiped nevertheless by the Y chromosome disaster.
And tracks would have to be more sensible. -> More iron.
I realize how the iron scarcity is a thing to Jason, yet the result is me going to stop on anyone in the game I see doing anything that wastes iron...
Actually alcohol makes you freeze faster despite imagining a warm sensation.
I just imagine a gang of men wearing wigs writing a declaration of independence.
I have been playing the game for a long time now and it seems that since the beginning penguins just sorta...stand there and don't really do anything, is that ever going to change?
Have real life penguins a use?
I like to have some cute nature that doesn't necessarily need to be turn into products.
I just say: trains
