Me as Bowen and my bride Par - my twin brother Rowen served as priest and Kyle was our audience. Modest wedding but beautiful memories. <3
We had many beautiful daughters but had to watch one of them die. Priscilla, if your read this, forgive me for the things I said in anger.
Hey, Bowen!
I was Khezier, Turns out Apryl left then came back and stabbed me when I said "I hope next life i'm a girl," Then there were a lot of people either with blood wounds or bloody knifes, Only two people died.
I wasn't mad at Apryl, I couldn't be and I couldn't curse her, I loved her too much and was only happy she was there.
I understand, love is blind. Sorry to hear that it didn't work out. I do admit that sometimes I think about what would've happened if I hadn't prohibit Marlene from seeing you...

As for the baskets, you can use a ball of thread instead of precious milkweed.
??? ball of thread instead of milkweed for baskets? Does that actually work?
Whoops, just checked. I thought you'd use the thread with a needle on the reed but no, it's a regular thread without needle so sorry for the misinformation.

I love diversity but what exactly is the problem you are trying to solve?
Here's a tip for wolves: since domesticated wolves die, you can lure them into their cage but leave no space in there to move. When they can't move, they can't age.
Another way is to lure them into the cage and then make them have puppies.
LOL! I don't think an account can be taken down with a single flag. Especially if it's for unjustified reasons such as spite. It was probably a bot, a mistake on Github's side.

Doesn't disprove my point.
Actually I believe it does. You went on a high horse rant, on something that had a player creating something, Jason asking (not demanding) if it could show other data, and the player saying yes, I can do it.
Quite frankly, if the way you ranted is the normal way you "offer" help, Im not surprised you have been given the cold shoulder. There is no reason for that, regardless if you feel wronged or not.
After all, we are all mature individuals here, I hope.
Valeros, that "rant" was in response to not just this thread but also other posts by Jason. And it is in Jason format - clearly stating problems (not with the game but with Jason's communication with the players) so it should be helpful to Jason.
Okay the "you need therapy" part might be read as an insult but we are all adults I hope, able to recognize a figure of speech.
Now, I'm sorry I interrupted this private thread. Praise Jason.
... Players are bad at understanding the sources of those problems, and thus, players are very bad at solving those problems themselves. This is a general observation, and not true in all cases [...] They are too close and too involved to see the real problem, whatever that is.
I trust that you are completely right, but I that's why we have you, the designer, no? Earlier you criticized players who shared suggestions or complaints saying that they should stop that and do a better job at figuring out the problems in the game. Sorry, that's your job and you claimed to be one of the best at it.
...During playtesting, don't listen to verbal feedback from players. Just watch silently as they play your game. I've even been on the other end of that, when testing a game made by a friend's company. He and I are peers as designers, and he obviously respects my design instincts, but when I was playtesting his game, he basically wanted me to shut up and play (they were videotaping both the screen and my face while I was playing).
It's one thing to test your game on someone, not wanting to pay attention to them thinking out loud. It's a different thing to tell all your players to shut up and play - disregarding players who spent their time caring deeply about your game and trying to come up with well thought-out suggestions (which are based on perceived problems the players have.)
In my opinion, even a wish like "I'd love if there were tables in OHOL" or a useless comment like "it's not fun enough", even if it doesn't fit into your vision of the game, should not be disregarded so blatantly and openly. You don't have to fulfill any wish, you don't even have to read the criticism, you should be happy that it exists because it means people engage and feel strongly about something you made.
Unfortunately, OHOL is such a long-form and variable game that watching a lot of recordings isn't practical. But I've definitely refined the tutorial a ton by watching streamers struggle with certain parts. Heck, I refined the tutorial a ton by watching my wife struggle with it, back in the day. That's where the /hatchet filter system came from in the first place.
I can't figure out what you want from us or what you are trying to say. Basically what I understood is;
- You learn best from observing the player but OHOL is not suited for that approach.
- You don't have the time to go through our meaningless whining - "I'd like this", "I want that"...
- We are doing a lousy job at identifying the problems but it's because of our position as players so no wonder
- To be useful, we can still try and make clear statements of problems, but refrain from suggesting, requesting, complaining or engaging in other ways
I just think you are not aware of your tone and you need a PR person.
if you don't have 15+ game dev experience your opinion doesn't matter
Stop it with the suggestions already!!!! No one cares if you have 10 or 20 years of experience, Jason will call you directly if he needs your thoughts!
Can you please phrase your post as a PROBLEM, so Jason understands too?
The only person who knows all game designer personally is Chuck Norris.
2017 the average game release (only) on steam is 21 a day. We have also multiply country´s. We have developers all over the world. Time is still running, there is no stop button. New developers spread each day. And there are a lot of good developers. I think each day a good developer is born. And you really mean Jason knows all game designers personally. Come on. You can say he knows a lot game designer personally, but not all.
Thought so. Jason is delusional then.
If you do have that much experience, I already know you personally, because if you've been making games that long, we've already crossed paths. I'm probably calling you on the phone for advice directly.
Jason knows all game designers personally (at least the good ones) and they are the only ones he listens to.
I think that's the big problem, they don't give him honest critique. They probably don't want to hurt his feelings.
...
If you want to be a good game designer you need to learn how to identify problems yourself, based on whatever feedback you get. Posing the right questions is legit, I see what you are trying to achieve with this post, but it sounds less like advice and more like a complaint or lecture.
So good luck with getting better feedback, but you can't expect the players to filter everything out for you.

Ill pick good gameplay over trailer promises anyday of the week, Jason shouldnt have to make robots in the near future to make a entertaining game should he? No, so that being said as long as he does it at some point i got no problem with that...
Also what live stream?
With "going live on steam" I meant "being released on Steam."
I completely agree,I would rather have better farming, fire and clothes than robots and cars, but some people have complained over that. And it wasn't even an explicit promise to begin with.
There's a desk in the trailer though. Where are our tables and desks, Jason?!

The beauty of this game is that it's being improved weekly, as we speak. But, having said that, it also means that you will not get all at once. As the developer, Jason has to set priorities. I don't like the last few updates, some people do. But I respect Jason's decisions. After all I believe he's trying to do a good job, which probably includes making a fun game while at the same time keeping the integrity of his initial concept. We had much more horrible updates in the past ( apocalypse, dogocalypse,...) but they were fixed rather quickly. Of course we should complain when it's appropriate, but also we need to have a bit more patience and understanding. Complaining about sand being useless right now when it was just added is out of place in my opinion. We as the players should set priorities too. Many simple things are missing or don't make sense in this game, but obviously the greatest priority right now is giving dogs a purpose. Where are the hunting dogs, shepherds, retrievers and guarding dogs? My patience has its limits!
I'm ok with that, but at least let me remove the old useless shitty devices ![]()
Marriages are very much a thing. Incest happens now way more often than before.
Rohrerianity and the cult of the Eternal Goose are two major religions right now, with many branches and sects and also satanists or nosajists worshiping the nosaj. I think the goose cult is actually a branch of the three pillar cult but I am no expert. The banana was worshiped until it got nerfed. Bear and carrot cults have died out entirely. Here is an example of a rohrerian church (courtesy of bENdl from Discord)
I've never heard someone say "in the bush"... what does it mean?

Lol who did this?
I wanna add it to my searching post and credit you.
I made that in OCS just to demonstrate it in some thread. I've been making those in the official servers when snowballs became a thing but haven't played there for some time.
Erudaru wrote:Maybe a time estimate would be helpful.
I'm not sure what you mean by time estimates. There is a "Changes over time" section on each object page which tells you what happens over time.
Yeah that was vague, sorry. I meant a time estimate as in the time that you will spend crafting something (if that can be calculated in some way)... Maybe something in addition to the difficulty level. It says that it's hard to make, but what does that mean? Can I do it in my lifetime?
To help decide if I should even attempt making it or focus on something else that I can finish... Of course it would depend greatly on many factors but it's just an estimate. IDK.
Maybe a time estimate would be helpful.
Do you mean the list of transitions on the object page? I do this for a couple reasons.
I meant the "What's new in release X" page, where content and transitions are grouped according to commits I guess. I would personally prefer if the whole group is shown right away because I expand them all anyway but nvm, it's just a nitpick.
I list the movement type in the object info but it doesn’t always seem to follow this. I have seen animals follow players when they should have the Flee type. Not sure if it is a bug.
The only truly fleeing animals that I know are shorn sheep and escaped horse. False fleeing animals just randomly choose where to go regardless of the players position. I felt like people could interpret the word wrong (I did).
Great job on the website, it's actually really good. Not just useful but really well made.
I don't understand why stuff is hidden though, i.e. collapsed until you click "Show more". I believe that we are all interested in all the stuff that's released.
And another thing about movement; all animals' movement is either chase or flee, when in the game it's chase (bear, sheep, dog,...), flee (shorn sheep, escaped horse,...) and random (animals that don't care where you are standing)
I love it! I have a berry pen design in mind. What do you use to draw those images?
