War swords are good on paper because they bring drama and build relations between towns (in practice those realtions were always 'don't trust anyone'). A war sword itself is not a problem - the problem is what the players can (and will) do with it.

It was indeed a good concept on paper... but the playerbase kept complaining about how most of their
played lifes, at that time, were tormented by some random dudes trying to kill everyone in the area with war swords.
And if you look at the concept of the game, this didnt fit at all(constant killing), but the problem were the players that abused this, not the content itself.

The same goes with engine scrapping, biome locked tiles and how they can be abused to leave important stuff in them(at least temporarily), and probably lots of more examples that i can't think of them right now.

Thats why we got restrictions for the war sword, to the point it became useless. And now the overall killing  system, that is a similar problem to the one already mentioned, where Jason had to intervene and put some restrictions to solve the issue, but now we can see that in reality it is a players problem(abusing mechanics), that can maybe be solved by some concept changes in the game, but i've already talked about that in my last message.

The only thing he can do is change the rules of the game and empower good actors so that griefing is less likely.

Isn’t this the reason why we are here? With the posse system, the waiting time before landing a kill and the 20 minute minimum time lived to join a pose? He couldn’t manage to address the issue to his core because he cant, it’s an issue that goes beyond the games limits currently, unless Jason decides to changes his game vision, but that won’t happen.

The fact is that Jason can’t empower the good guys without also empowering the griefers in some other way

I do have to agree with you fug, in regards to the whole concept of engine scrapping, it shouldn’t have been added to the game if you take into consideration how easy it is to destroy an engine, and how hard it is to make one : time, (that is already limited for players) the correct knowledge(not everyone can make one ) and the water. vs scrapping an engine: 30 seconds, a box and a magical hammer.

I apologize if couldn’t deliver my message clearly, but for me English is still a skill that I haven’t quite mastered yet, I do try to be as clear as possible since minuscule mistakes could lead to a very different meaning of your whole though.

I don’t think some of you  guys are thinking your words trough enough, everything you say to Jason could have a direct impact on the game overall, Either it being a good change or a bad one. Being impatient and demanding a fix immediately can make Jason prone to more mistakes and overall a worse quality of gameplay.

I’m not necessarily setting the current ”griefing issue” as the main example but it’s a recurring issue in the forums, where I can see that The proposed changes , aren’t even though enough. Do you remember why the waiting period of 6 seconds (later on changed to 12 seconds) was added for, fug?

It was so that the players could have some more time to react to incoming threats. Nowadays I see how it’s pointless mechanic against groups of Griefers Such as with bobo’s group, but it served an actual purpose back in the day.

Also organized griefers can keep going back to places where they left a mess before, at least eventually, and continuing the “circus alive” . that’s where the  curse system can aid if done properly, but it becomes powerless against people with multi accounts.

Yeah, I’ve noticed that there is a tendency to call the in game races by
flavor types in the forum, but for me they will surely remain only as jungle
Peeps. smile

Haven't you considered that you might have been cursed by someone in that respective family (jungle fam )? If so, that could explain why you couldn't be born as them.
