a multiplayer game of parenting and civilization building
You are not logged in.
Well if it wasn’t already clear, you’re going to live to the ripe old age of 120.
And no, you’re not a baby or an elder for any longer than you are in OHOL.
We’re currently merged roughly with OHOL v250
Onwards with rambling about our additions, beginning with many of our original and long standing moderations.
- Shrines, praise the gods and be showered with gifts.
- Beekeeping
- Cheese making (Camels)
- Brewing (Hops beer)
- Silk making
- Wine making
- Cheroots
- Currency
- Role play/cosmetic Nation banners
- Everyone spawns at 0, 0
- Decay is mostly disabled
- No map tile culling
- Apple trees
- Windmills
- Sandwiches
And about a hundred other changes that are minor, involved in process from the above list or weren’t properly recorded. Oops.
Coming in this update:
- No rift
- One language
- Water biome
- Mammoths!
- Merchant NPC’s
- Fishing overhaul
- Cotton and clothing variants
- Flags
- Pork food items
- Edible peppers
- Money bags
And once again, this also includes many minor bug fixing and general quality of life fixes.
Come check us out, releasing in a bit over 20 hours!
How do characters age in the game? New aging stages?
From memory, it works as if you were an adult for an extended amount of time, so not all phases are simply doubled. You will be a baby for as long as you would be in OHOL.
What are the main features of the 2HOL update? What systems have been overhauled and why?
There will be a post to come on the new content!
As for out of game systems that have been overhauled:
We've moved hosts
We have a brand new website
Managing your game login will now be done from within our Discord server by interacting with a bot
We have automatic updates working... just for Windows for the time being (Someone is welcome to school us on why Mac and Linux won't work)
I'm sure there are several other things, but it's late and that is all that's on my mind currently.
Do you have a server status page where one can check the servers population at any time? Like Jason has with his servers and CCM has as well.
Examples:

Here you are! http://play.twohoursonelife.com/reflect … ion=report
This is for the server that will be released on Saturday, so don't expect many online until then.
How many people play on your server usually?
Our server has been pretty quiet for the past few months, stemming from the lack of development.
In the past, our server has been very busy always with several bustling towns at a time.
Checkout Twisted's videos on Two Hours One Life from quite some time back now if you wish.
Whether you've never played on our server or even ever heard of our existence, this is for you.
Two Hours One Life (or 2HOL) is a heavily modified version of One Hour One Life.
We're a small team of dedicated people volunteering our time to the project driven by the wishes of the community.
We're unofficial, we run our own servers and manage our own logins along with our own development and art.
Most notably, anyone can play our game completely for free.
It was during March of 2018 that our development and moderations first kicked off which included our signature change that not long later directly influenced our name: a player could live for twice as long than in One Hour One Life.
Since this time, we've made a ton of changes and additional objects, many derived from community ideas and art.
But we're not done yet! This Saturday we will be releasing a complete overhaul of all our systems.
New game server, new content, new login system and released just yesterday our new website at https://twohoursonelife.com
You must be in our Discord to play: https://discord.gg/GNg3JUX
2HOL August 2019 releasing:
GMT+0 1300, Saturday August 31st
GMT-4 0900, Saturday August 31st
GMT-7 0600, Saturday August 31st
GMT+10 2300, Saturday August 31st
Until then, you can't play our current server unless you have a pre-existing account. We hope to see you Saturday!
I've seen an image of this somewhere quite some time ago.
Whatever happened to this style? At what point was this how you envisioned the game and what caused you to change it to what it is now?
Edit: Ah here! Did it once ship in the game folder about a year ago? https://github.com/jasonrohrer/OneLifeD … Nudity.png
This is a great message, it's a pity that people sometimes get caught up in their own world and become so frustrated with such trivial issues.
Big things are happening.
A full and utter overhaul of every one of our systems.
A literal and figurative whole new world.
You must be in our Discord to play.

There will be more to come...
I'm sure this is fundamentally not supported by the game engine anyhow.
Ignoring that and the above post, what value would this add? It sounds to be an intensive addition for little purpose.
Interesting concept. Would be nice to hear or even see Jason's take/adaptation of this.
Anyone know of a server that doesn't contain the rift by chance?
Decent plot twist
What i would like to see in the game (next content update):
- Guns, we could start off with antique firearms, a rifle that is difficult to reload, but out ranges a bow, than maybe later add harder to make but easier to reload guns.
- Poison, shot a poisonous dart with a bamboo straw, bake pies with poison inside that look the same a s normal pies, put poison into a well to kill the berry farm. There could be different kinds of poisons, maybe some just slow you down, others make you very hungry and some kill you slowly.
- Traps / mines, you could plant them somewhere outside to protect your village, if someone walks into one, maybe he gets stuck there and cant free himself, but needs someone else to free him, or he just gets wounded and dies if no one heals him.
How does any of this fit into the scope of the game?
This series of events is on loop. The outcry comes and goes with any addition that has ever been made.
Jason is a game designer, he openly admitted on another thread he didn't know what the outcome of this would be, as he has countless times beforehand.
This takes trial and error, it will never be perfect on the first time around. The key factor here is that Jason is well aware of this and is constantly observing the behaviour of the game.
What will anyone learn if we did not at least try new mechanics? Doing this could potentially uncover a path to an entirely new way to play and eventually be beneficial. But that could be all lost if we simply never tried.
This game is in active development, I believe that's pretty clear. Getting upset about an actively developed game being updated, a bit ironic?
Appears to be a world limit introduced to enhance the scarcity of resources.
Hello,
I've begun editing the wiki we have setup & have a few questions & generally want feedback of other editors.
Is there a place that editors can quickly & easily share thoughts and information? Like a Discord? If not could one be setup?
Cheers.
