no I don't think that pouring wine on you computer would do it much good.
Have you tried BEER?
Dear mom:
You were upset that all your babies kept running. Initially I wanted to die behind a tree, but you and Gramma both looked so sad. So I heard a bell, and made up my mind to stay until I could travel to the bell. I made a sealskin coat for you out of Gramma's sealskin and told you that it would warm you to have more babies. It was my goodbye present, and I left for the bell. But I changed my mind after going a few meters, remembering what a former mother had said: that One Hour One Life was not about the changes you made to technology, but to other people in your life. The whole idea of building a transmitter and receiver was to see your daughter's face when she cried into one end and it came out the other.
So I went back. I started farming. I was the only girl in our small Generation 3 camp, and was determined to have many children. I knew that high yum meter brought more babies, so I started trying to eat "yum" foods. This lead me to plant corn, cook eggs and rabbits, and go on faraway quests for bananas and onions.
I remember that you gave me the sealskin coat, when you were in your late thirties. I don't remember you dying, you were just suddenly not there any more. Life was moving too quickly: we had begun our first smithing and baking, and with a steadily growing "yum" meter I was popping out babies left and right. I ended up with a "yum" meter of x13 (I had to break it in my late forties, unfortunately) and a whole bunch of grandkids.
I love you all. To everyone else in the camp:
My nameless Uncle: You were quiet but a hard worker and a good smith. I found your grave near a tree and brought back the snare you had been carrying.
Erika: I was so excited when I saw mom carrying you. I knew she was really happy because she had wanted a daughter. I'm sorry you were killed by a wolf, it happens to the best of us.
Katie: My other sister. Mom got old and so I fed you, which you found gross. You wanted to eat berries. You were annoying to me to say the least, but you grew out of it and we ended up as friends. I'm sorry you died to a wild boar. Your hat went to your nephew, Ferdi. He looked dope in it.
Daxton: You were a good kid. The first child I had that lived long enough to show to your Grammy Hope. She was so pleased.
Avida (Avidan): I think you must have lagged or else your game crashed, because you died at age twenty after staying in the same place for about five minutes. I fed your twins, Fatima and Amara. They were good kids.
Fatima and Amara: You were pretty good, as far as twins go. I was so happy to have grandkids, and you were very good workers. One of you got my backpack, but I'm not sure which.
Bella: I'm sorry. I went to the jungle to get bananas for my ''yum'' meter, and we were both stung by bugs. I was so close to saving you, I feel really bad.
Andrea: You were a good worker. Thank you for making backpacks. And for carrying our line to the.... 23RD GENERATION! WOOP WOOP! I guess the "baby maker" sealskin coat worked after all, huh? ![]()
Ferdinand (nickname Ferdi) : I could tell you were a bit new to smithing, but you were still eager to learn and quickly got the hang of it. Also, my sunhat looked dope on you.
Bernadette (nicknamed Berni by both me and Daxton) : You were a quiet baby but a good daughter. I could never tell you and Mariette apart.
Mariette: My last baby. I was thrilled to be having so many, but my hair turned grey less than a minute after you were born. I fed you berries along with your nieces Fatima and Amara. You all stayed stayed still, which I was grateful for.
Firdraws: A great granddaughter! The only great granddaughter I saw in my lifetime. You looked so cute in Amara's arms.
Freddie and Rebecca: Grandkiddies. You seemed okay. You didn't get squash seeds but Andrea was proud of you so I am too.
My three babies that ran / suicided: You missed out on a great family. Poor you.
Ninette: I never saw you but apparently you were a nomad legend. Who I'm guessing followed a bell and mixed with the Keto family.
I love you guys!!!

• Brother lovin'I started playing with the Steam release and I have no idea what most of those things are. If they exist at all they must be quite rare, and I for one am glad of that. I don't begrudge anyone having fun their own way, but I have yet to be anything but annoyed by anyone's roleplaying beyond the simple pleasantries of staying in character ("I love you mom" etc), so by and large if people want to roleplay I prefer they do it in ways that don't affect me and in places where I am not.
In my experience, what I see of roleplaying inevitably leads to murder. And while I'm basically okay if a bunch of non-productive people want to kill each other, it's almost never consensual; someone uses "roleplaying" as a spur or excuse to go kill whoever is around them whether they wanted to be involved in their little drama or not.
For a variety of reasons, there are fewer highly-advanced towns now than there were in the early days of OHOL, and as a consequence, most settlements you will be born into are in precarious situations, where if there aren't at least a few players who know what they're doing born into each generation the town will crash and die. That means that there's a lot fewer situations where significant numbers of people can just roleplay and screw around rather than be productive.
There's always plenty of non-productive people around, of course, but my hope is that they'll be engaged by the gameplay and attempt to learn the game mechanics rather than sit around in a glorified chat room.
I'm guilty of killing my husband (egged on by my daughter) because he "slept around". I'm pretty sure he didn't care though.
As you may know, I've been away for a while. And I have seen how much things have changed, almost none of the people I used to be good friends with on here are left for example. So, to get caught up in what's been happening I would like to know if a few things are still common practice in the game.
Are these things still a thing -
• Religion wars
• Aurora style marriages (or marriages in general)
• Saying "in the bush"
• Dictators
• The slave market
• The drug trade
• Cults
• Sacrifices of babies
• Brother lovin'
• No religion wars that I know of
• I've had several marriages, and I had my last official marriage a few weeks ago; Since then I've had "bae"s, and have been a father, but not really many official marriages. But I'm sure I could start doing marriages again.
• "In the bush" was never a thing
• Not sure about dictators. They'd prolly be killed, but you do get the occasional person saying "I RULE YOU", and there are some queens and kings that take their position seriously and call others peasants still.
• I've never heard of the slave market
• I hope the drug trade is still on. I set up an official system with a girl about a month ago, where she would give me baskets of shrooms and I'd give her items of clothing in return. Once I carried around carts of shrooms, dealed them out and called myself "The Mushroom Man" (I was a woman, but it was a "The Muffin Man" reference)
• Not really many cults around. We should start doing that again.
• Baby sacrificing might be only me, but I like to play a game called "snake dropsy" when I go far away from a snake with "space" pressed and then run towards it and drop my baby onto it.
• Brother lovin' I'm not sure about, but I once told pickup lines to every single one of my sisters. I ended up in a relationship with one of them, I made up a poem for them but they died before I could read it to them
Overall, we need more love. And more RP. And a whole lot more incest.
I was at the town too. Someone had built three houses along a rode so I finished the half-built fourth one. I put books in one of the houses and clothes in another, one had construction tools, and I think the first one held medical supplies. I was an early-ish generation, I think there was a famine but when I died there were a few girls and their babies so maybe my line ( http://lineage.onehouronelife.com/serve … id=2974009 , I was Dora III) will survive.
This is really helpful, thank you

NOSAJ IS JASON BACKWARDS!!!
It's Cari Shank, remember me? We went looking for an end crystal together when I was thirteen, maybe fourteen. Unfortunately you got old, and I lost both you and my daughter Endy (Endstone) to mosquitoes. And so I embarked on a journey, alone, spanning from my early twenties to my forties, alone and doubting I would ever find the Dark Nosaj (https://onetech.info/2466-Dark-Nosaj). I also knew I needed a murder for the endstone, and you were no longer an option. Luckily a daughter, Apolline (Apocalypse) came along just as I found the Nosaj. I brought the endstone home but it was no longer needed, so it became an heirloom passed down to my granddaughter Snow. Love you, mom!! Sorry you were never able to find the Nosaj.
Image is me, Apolline and the Live Nosaj. Which looks like Pennywise if I'm being completely honest. ![]()

Wake up at 7 ish
It's winter holidays!
What am I supposed to do with this newfound freedom?
Go to sleep at who knows o'clock
Tarr, were you Eve Back? It's Gideon. You showed me the tree as a baby and told me the cardinals would take hours to come. The first came when I was in my late fifties, luckily. I saw the second in another, much later life.

Tbh, the addition of the African female was wonderfully timed with the snow update. Greifers got snowballs, children got snowmen and everyone got a new character design. Christmas gifts for all
Is the tree an ingame item? I haven't gotten a chance to play yet... (Lol, missed the best update of the season.)
And role-players got a character that goes bald at fifteen!
Haha, I was playing a girl the other day, still sorta young, and this man in a hat says my name. So I say, "Yes?", and he says, "Don't go bald," and takes off his hat.
All next to a kiln with a big sign behind it reading TAR. Missing an R?
*gasp* I so want to try that
So the latest holiday update introduced these two new objects:
They seem to appear an hour after a yule tree has all its candles burnt (to eat the garlands, possibly?), after that it looks like they just stay there forever and do nothing.
Has anyone seem them in game yet? Do they do anything else? Are there actual "animal" versions of them? I have so many questions
*gasp* THAT SOUNDS SO COOOOOOOL
