I dont know how hard it is to make oceans in this game but if possible yea.
we could also get other sources of water more akin to ponds, like waterfalls and maybe even a way to distill the salty waters of ice holes.
why don't you just starve babies that do it? or stab them
guys I agree we should push currency and communitary projects but in this game we'll have to do it ourselves.
Would help if we built a sort of currency system, based on iron or stones or whatever, but it's not like anyone has the need for trade in the game yet. Maybe when we get more uncommon but important resources.
As of now the best I can think of is asking to young working kids to help on your projects for a big reward. Mostly they wont do it and will try to steal your stuff so make sure you can enforce what little ownership you have.
Pig buff is so needed tbh
i can only see it being useful for fat or skin though
i guess fries could work with pork fat too
please, we need a use for pigs and fats would be a nice resource.
Like Karltown, said, makes more sense that we incorporate quests as RP elements.
Pein, you can probably make some nice gear pretty fast, you can use that as quest loot to get people to do what you want.
copper would be great if it wasn't just "bad iron". I think it should need at least a kiln and not being of use for stuff ike saws and other non-basic tools. I think it should definitely be nice to make copper wiring when we get electricity though.
I think we should have a food decay system. For example - mutton is spoiled when left unprocessed and it spoils in 5 minutes (arbitary number). However, you can put it in a barrel of salt or put it in smokehouse and then it can last a lifetime.
cold should also be an option to store food, i think. I don't think stuff like berry bushes should decay though.
I kinda of like seasons or any other weather mechanics more than and night. day and night cycles are already kinda short in real life, in this game it would be just unrealistic.
But communism is never gonna work out blah blah blah blah
it wont if it keeps being confused with anachism
I was there, and Suzy had the right of it. Suzy had cleared away some area to make another area for a cow pen. Then you came along and decided that, despite Suzy having done the work to clear (and with my help, I might add), you were going to plant more berry bushes we didn't need, a good distance from the existing 40+ berry bushes farm we already had. I was Suzy's twin, and was pretty much fed up with that town anyway, since that's where I was stabbed as an Eve. I did a lot of work on the existing sheep pen, and was actually kinda happy to see it was finished, despite the efforts of the griefer.
Anyway... The berry bushes you planted require soil and water that were needed elsewhere. The bushes were distant from the existing farm, so logistically it was a bad idea to put another berry farm there. And you stole Suzy's and my area we were going to build something that was going to be ACTUALLY useful, after we had done the work to clear the space.
I ran off and suicided, so I didn't see what Suzy did before she jumped into our next twin life. But if she killed you...
You deserved it, dude.
Next time, think about what the town actually needs and how the other person might feel about it before you commandeer someone else's pet project.
she had absolutely no right. (edit, you did communicate i think so im taking this back)
in paticular this argument:
"Next time, think about what the town actually needs and how the other person might feel about it before you commandeer someone
else's pet project."
do you realize thats waht your sister did?
This is missing a key point that changed my game regarding clothes. For the longest time I had no idea you could get thread from sheep. I always assumed it was milkweed only.
So, for the new people, fleece from shorn sheep plus drop spindle equals a ball of thread you can add to the bone needle for multiple use sewing.
yeah, don't get thread from weed at all after city has heep
A fire spit to roast hunted animals without the need to butcher would be neat
Griefers better git gud fast or they'll be massacred.
Noobies are a problem though, as it's hard to deal with tons of kids spam clicking everything and mothers having a billion babies.
Good to make a cistern near wells and some alongside roads, allows for quick transport of big amounts of water if ever needed. Also useful to remember people to reset the wells.
So, we keep having trolls posting how badass they think they are by killing a bunch of noobs. Its lame as fuck, but it's not against the rules. Moreso they also like it when people complain and curse at them for doing it.
The solution is, obviously, not feeding the troll. Be aware of what it is doing, if it's spamming and actually violating the rules (calling other peoples names is the most common ban, i think). If that is the case just talk to one of the moderators, they'll be happy to help.
would be nice to have central heating to rooms, a small fireplace attached to the wall (or blended in into wall blocking movement), it would need coal supply and it would last based on how many tiles the room has
also you could ignite the fire brand on it
now this could be automatic or half manual, as long as you got coal there would require feeding into (first with a basket, then upgrade and have a lever to feed in) and you could store coal next to it
these would be great. I'd also like should we get fire spits to cook hunted animals
Also, I iike the idea of oil-fueled lamps that give some small heat bonus but last long and serve as fire.
QUICK! DONT FEED HIM.
shuut this thread now, you should've all learned.
More advanced water physics are really crucial in a civilization building game.
Water and how it is managed is everything when it comes to creating civilization as it is virtually the foundation for all life.
I'm not sure how some requested features like irrigation and oceans would work but I'd like alternate water sources. I keep thinking that rivers could have a base non-ugradable water regen but also be used in the future for hydroelectrical power.
Decayable apron could come with slower decay for all clothes. His proposition is legit, it could be made without making the game more difficult.
yeah, rebalance is not necessarily bad. I particularly think wool clothing should last a bit longer, so balance could match this increased duration.
Like some goofy teleporter that nobody actually uses seriously.
Oh you must be a hell of a griefer if you can't even teleport wounds. I bet you also empty ponds so they won't refill.
I like most of these ideas. A few things I would change is mines not necessarily being in the center of the biome, as it sounds too dungeony for this game, i think, and tigers not being killable. Probably more interesting if they could be killed but took two arrows and moved faster/in a different motion. I'm not sure if I think mines should be infinite, but definitely should have many times the amount of resources we usually get.
In a biome this big the no-farm rule isn't even really needed since it would still take a lot of water transporting to make farms there viable. could be a nice use for railroads + cisterns.
I like the ideas of biomes that do very specific things but also allow for some niche benefits in other circunstances (like skipping bowls with a pouch and hoe with a skewer), so maybe this biome could have natural food too (but tigers should really be really meany and hard to avoid so i think it balances). I ike the you mentioned having more than one dangerous animal too, makes it all more challenging.
Like to the point where you could build a good base without a swamp or grasslands, but if you wanted to get higher tech you would have to expand to other biomes, so more like sustainable than livable.
I just think there should be other ways to survive other than relying on the swamp (and forest), throughout most of the game.
i'd say what you described is more about liveable than sustainable, because if the population got too big we'd have to get higher tech so no biomes could actually sustain development alone.
I definitely agree that we should have more options, my point is we gotta think really well how we present this idea to Jason. I mean, if we could cook seals and other animals in fires we'd already make ice and badlands more liveable (although you'd still need soething to justify settling on cold, but i think oil in the late game could be a nice addition). But if we still need grass for rope and kindling early we'll remain in need of grass every single time. Maybe if there was a biome with twigs that you could turn into kindling without tools and some other way to get rope we'd get this metashift we all desire.
it would also work if we could store the tinder instead
I'd like flint and steel that works without leaves or staff. pretty useful to carry to savannahs and would make trappers' lives much easier
