I was prepared to work hard as a daughter of an Eve, but the town had everything we need. So I took it as a mandate to PARTY! And in the middle of my story, one of my sons claimed to be Lord Jason. So I teased the little Godling, but sadly he had to leave to crash some servers.

My bro Domoni, went into a coma in early adulthood, but I fed him as he slept: gooseberries with something extra. And he was so surprised to be alive. He partied with me till the very end.

I raised lots of babies and the lineage is still partying on 9 hours later!

You could make pigs function like sheep.  Use a rope to move the live piglets around.

Thank you for that btw! I was fully expecting to die and was resigned to that since I wasn't sure if any one would believe me, but it needed to be done. I lived until 56 so thanks again for the heal, my guy!

no problem, i saw the lady talking about slaves so i knew why you did it.

I was Frimy.  I was put in charge of the safe room (the one with all of the stew and kraut) when i was a little girl.  An old man was cooking the stew and i thought he was hiding it all from the town.   i waited until he opened the door then ran in and stole a raw stew pot.  i took it into town and cooked it.  He sorta followed me up there and i explained that we were all hungry and needed stew.  he told me to follow and led me into the safe room.  He explained that he built the room so that if a griefer came to town,  women and children could hide out and not starve.  Then he passed his apron and key to me and told me i was in charge.

I raised all of my kids there, and made some stews and told my kids the tale of the safe room.  At one point an older lady named Rosie came into the safe room.  She was carrying her pet goose, Eggward.  She said she had been taking care of Eggward her whole life. She died soon after leaving Eggward wondering around the safe room.  I named my next son Eggward (Ege) in her honor.  Eventually i passed my apron and key to my son Elroy, the doctor.  I died attempting to teach a new girl how to farm.  I took her to an old soil pit i found as a kid, however the bush that was near it had been picked clean.

so if you feed a domesticated piglet and then put it in your backpack,  it grows into a full pig.  if you take it out, it is stuck in your hand and you cannot eat.  pretty great though.

you can even give it to a baby!

there was a bug with snakes that was found right after the release of the new update.  he had to pause interrupt the update with a hotfix. that's probably the issue and should be resolved soon.

Do you use reddit?  That's where i heard about it.  I've seen indie devs do AMA's on there to promote their games.

#86 Re: Fixed Bugs » if you pick a berry it says "meh" on the left screen side » 2018-06-17 03:11:44

this is all part of the most recent update.

here is a quote from the live-dev-changes:

"New yummy food multiplier system.  After eating two different foods, you get a yum bonus of 1 food and your yum multiplier goes up to 1.  With each unique food that you eat, your yum multiplier goes up by one, and this multiplier is added to your yum bonus.  When you finally repeat a food, your yum multiplier goes back to 0.  Yum bonus functions as extra food units above and beyond your normal food bar.  By chaining many unique foods, the yum multiplier and resulting yum bonuses can be very large.  Holding a food in your hand tells you whether it is yummy or meh.  Sorry about the word 'yum', but there really isn't any other short word for that concept except for nom, which is way too internet.  And meh?  I don't think there's any other word for that.  It's kinda meh, though."

also, the zoomed out mod you're using is making the "+1 and x1" appear in the wrong spot.

To my son Sneyder,

son,  i'm so sorry i let you down.  i should've made sure you had a full belly before i had you follow me off into the wild to teach you trap making and rabbit catching.  it was a rookie mistake on my part and i'm so very sorry.  you were a great son and i wish i would've been able to teach you more.

to add salt to the wound,  once i got back to camp with your bones (my intent was to give you a proper burial), everyone had died except your little brother jack.  remember that snake that chased you when you were just born?  well, your little sis stepped on him.  sad times but it was a good life, you all were great family.  godspeed sneyder,  i hope to play with you again in another life.

your mom,  nameless

ps,  jack you did an amazing job on the farm.  had any girls made it, we could've thrived in that spot.

#90 Re: Main Forum » what makes a good starting area/strategy? » 2018-06-07 03:03:27

you're mostly on track (in my opinion).  for your step 3, sometimes making a water pouch is quicker than making bowls.  it just depends on whats around your base.  berries have been a very good starting crop this week but that will most likely change tomorrow or friday when the new content drops.

I say go for it.  With the update added yesterday, the game (so far) seems much more balanced than it has in the past few weeks.  If you really want to be safe, wait a few days for the pros to fully sort out how the Small Farm Update has changed the game.

I want to quote Morti from another thread.  I'm going to strive to be this type of eve from now on.

Morti wrote:

Get the basic tools going.

As an Eve, keeping all of my kids, alive, I can still manage to get up to basic iron tools.

Know that when you place a child on a balanced temp tile, IF, they stay there then you get about 20 seconds per their pips to go out, gather and come back. I generally only go out for one minute at a time, as I have a, sort of, innate feeling as to what one minute is, but with kids you've given a quick tour already, you can probably make that a minute thirty, or even two minutes.
4 pips = 80 seconds, 00:01:20
5 pips = 100 seconds, 00:01:40
6 pips = 120 seconds, 00:02:00
7 pips = 140 seconds, 00:02:20

Babies are born at age 0 with 4 pips,
The fifth pip comes about a minute into their life.
The sixth comes about 30 seconds after that.
The seventh, and every pip there after comes after about a minute.

The pips do not directly coincide with age, they are staggered by about 30 seconds, from one another, but I use them as general indicator of age.

(from a post I made somewhere else)

Age(~) / HP(pips) / Time(of HP change)
0 4 0:00

I show you all this because it's important that every player know this information, but especially Eve's and mothers that want to be productive. A good, hard working mother, is a sign of a good life for a child; they are inspirational. When I see my mother working, while also keeping me alive by picking me up once every 15 seconds if we are on a grassland, or every minute or two if my temp is balanced and she knows it, it gives *me* the motivation to work hard and stay alive, as well.

If you're working on a farm 2-3 tiles in a desert, you have about 10 seconds per pip.

If you are working on a grassland or swamp without any desert tiles around, you have about 5 seconds per pip.

If you find yourself stopping on a tundra, for any reason, immediately stop when you get 2-3 tiles out of the tundra to give your temp a chance to reset to a warmer temp. Deep tundra, naked, you only have about 2 seconds per pip. Never stop on tundra if you don't have to, and never set off on a long journey from a deep tundra tile.

Build the basic tools near your child, whenever possible. Let them see you make that  fire bow drill, stone hatchet, snare and stone hoe. It will instill them with knowledge of it's construction, or at least, some indication of how it was made, but more importantly, perhaps, it will set the tempo for your settlement. Try not to get caught up in words. If a child asks you for a job, as an Eve, try to use as few words as you can, at that stage. "Get rabbits" "Gather carrot seeds" "Get fire going" "Expand the farm". You can then flower things up by saying things like "I want the largest''farm this server''has ever seen." "Bring all the branches''from miles around." "I want a mountain''of fur here,''and a field of skinned''rabbits over here!" You know, things like that can give people that little extra incentive to stick to their work, especially coming from an Eve. And especially from an Eve those childen have seen busting her ass for the last 3 minutes.

Take the time in your first few minutes, and with your first child, to wake up the rabbits, so, ten minutes later they have families. Get those cacti cycling so when the workers are going about their business later in life, they have a reliable place to stop and get food. But, most importantly, make sure your surroundings can support your family x years down the road. Don't go for that nice desert swamp patch if there isn't sufficient food near it, take an extra five minutes with your first child to scout around the grassland, desert, or swamp to find a place with more food within a screen or two's viewing distance. If you can, pull the seeds off carrots and dig them up. Run around for a few seconds with a sharp stone and dig up the burdock, and pull a few seeds from every other milkweed as you pick them.

You are setting a stage for your family to play out their life on and every little sign matters.

It's so easy to stand around on a nice warm tile juggling children like it's meaningful, but we all know it's not as useful as a mother who knows; what temp the tile is that her child has been standing on, the rate that their food meter is dropping, and when to pick them up, all while making tools, building a forge, starting a fire, laying out soil for the carrot farm and just working nonstop while also keeping all children alive.

Set the stage.

Be the kind of player you want your children to be.

I can't find the code for bonus food. Every time you eat something you get an extra bit of food on top of what the
item gives you, supposedly it used to be 3 now it is 2. People tell me it is called mr.prettyniceguy or something similar.

If we do not cook the corn it gives only 3 base food, so it like a berry but you still get 4 of em. Cooking them just requires
bowls and there does not seem to be corn pie.
