That was so beautiful and deep, ;(

I mean jason slaved like 10 hours just to give us different languages so it's not off the table eventually I dont think.
The thing with language was it just changed the code behind speech, adding passengers to vehicles includes a whole new level of item interaction and whatever else that I can't think of right now
It's a really popular suggestion, but the amount of work putting into adding that kind of content would take hours
I think Tarr gets it right, for me especially it's far too repetitive compared to other lives
He's adding some soon, I just wish a 'Create a playermodel' button existed ![]()
Unfortunately it doesn't, so we must wait
You were a particularly malicious little devil today, stealing my newcomen parts while I was working on that diesel engine. It took me a while to convince the town of your subtle acts of theft, but eventually you managed to stir the hive. We had lots of players on the hunt for you, bows with arrows, and old women with knives. It's a shame that, despite that, you only suffered the fate of yellow fever rather than us having the satisfaction of spilling your blood.
After you died though, it was an eight-minute game of hide and seek. But after some effort, we managed to recover everything you hid from us. Newcomen parts, pump valve, camera box, etc.
Plus I got to finish my diesel engine for the town!
But next time I'll keep an eye out for you, and next time I'll have my revenge...
>:D
Of course it doesn't make me want to play more, but it doesn't make me want to play less either
For balancing purposes, maybe one wool would give small yarn, that can be cut into thread balls. A huge ball of yarn would be a bad idea for the game, even if it is true to real life
But then panic rooms would just collapse as soon as the owner dies without passing it on. Which is not good
Yeah but I prefer being a jack of all trades each life. I make a bit of compost, a few clothes, maybe hunt and forge a bit
It's what I've been saying. Agreed
I generally prefer generations 3 and up since the hardest part of establishing a village is finished
I try to welcome any outsiders, unless they have a sword or any weapon in general. If they do, I keep a constant eye on them
bell towers are much more risky due to recent updates and gold usally isnt THAT hard to find.
With that said then, would you want it in the game?
Especially if someone recognized you, Datruff.
Hahaaa
With the new war update and the push for town defenses, some people on discord and I were discussing a way to alert the locals if there was a raider/griefer within the city. This means no matter where you were in town, as long as you were within a certain radius, you'd hear the bell ring for a bit, and know there was danger and to engage a fight or flight response, possibly to the town's panic room.
The issue I ran into was that there would be players just crying wolf whenever they used it. People could spam that bell and no one would take it seriously anymore. Then when there actually is danger, some people would have already died by the time people knew what was going on. My solution was that the bell could only be activated by an injured player, someone who's been stabbed or shot (Or wounded by animals such as bears, town medics can recognise that the sound means someone must be injured), with a 5 second cooldown between rings. It's no longer a false alarm, someone actually has been attacked.
A few drawbacks with this idea though; firstly, for the bell to be activated, someone has to die, unless there are meds nearby. Secondly, a griefer/raider who is only stealing without taking lives will not cause an alert. It is up to the people to spread the word in this instance.
Another problem I ran into as well was that this bell takes two gold to make. That's hard to come by, so younger towns will be at a disadvantage. Also, that gold could be put to use in a belltower (If the town even wants one as of now), and some toddler could ruin the bell tower project by placing the bell on some random fence/wall, depending on how the panic bell would be crafted. For the latter issue, there would be a timer before the bell would become permanent, so some other player could easily reclaim the bell.
Anyway, thanks to Humboldt and Mofobert for the idea
no cursing

That bread boi is the death of me
I've used VOG before, and when out of body, everything except aging freezes, that includes hunger. You're kind of invincible (I don't think animals can kill you) so the only thing that interrupts you is old age
how would it tell the area where you could curse? I dont want more unneeded magic
Magic cursing is already in the game, and this feature is needed. This adds no extra magic
Now that Eves spawn closer together, they can find some towns after about 10-30 mins of searching. In that time, there's a chance they would've armed themselves somehow, so they can start messing with a town if they come across one.
In a situation where a wall isn't fixed or there isn't a wall at all, an Eve can start to cause havoc in a town and slaughter a lot of people. A big problem is that they are the only one from their lineage, and so they won't face the repercussions of genocide. They can do this without being cursed and then start again in their next life as Eve, or just a wandering nomad with a sword. Just repeat this same method over and over without being cursed.
The lineage-only cursing is probably one of the only things in this game I hate. It was put in place to prevent stream sniping (Which I appreciate), but you also mentioned an area-only cursing solution instead. I really liked this idea. If this was the case, people will be able to punish Eves for just waltzing into town and committing mass murder over and over, and it would be very hard for someone to stream snipe an individual this way (Having to find the same town, then having to wait 2 hours after cursing them, plus the inhabitants wouldn't know who they cursed because of the language barrier, therefore couldn't join in on the curse chain). Also, it punishes singular players for doing unorganised raids. They attack on their own, there's only one guy to curse
The only big problem I see with even this, is that since Eves can keep coming back to towns to kill, they can sponge up curse scores that could be put to use on griefers within your own lineage. If multiple Eves just kept attacking towns, only a few players will have curses left to use, whilst the Eves remain in Donkey town for a while
Regardless, please make this change, it would be so helpful. Otherwise explain why it would be a bad idea
Thanks for the changes, you've had to deal with too much shit this week. Take a break
More characters are coming soonish...
How many? I want so many new playermodels right now
Other families are not enemies, unless they make themselves out to be, or a griefer decides to start a feud. Many people here have had peaceful lives coexisting with families
neither do I feel the slightest guilt of 'harassing' Toxic
btw he banned me from his griefing discord server
I can see why ![]()
