No one becomes a petty trolling racist because they woke up one day and decided to become one.

Stop the hate, show the man some love, say some nice words. You don't know how his childhood looked like or what he/she endured in life to become like this.

Jason about the recent update:

"Anyone can name a held baby, even adoptive parents. They get the last name of their adoptive parent. An unnamed person who is older than baby age can be named by anyone nearby, but they will never have a last name."

People tried to name me, it didn't work. What am I missing?

You should have seen server 3 before the apocalypse. We were close to having a metropolis. Good old days. So many roads... And baskets... *sigh*

To my children Dara, Desirée and Secret Polo,

I can't believe you just left me alone and started a new colony without telling me. I was crying at home, thinking you were all dead, only to find your ugly secret base when I was about to die.

To my grandson Flower, thank you. You were the only one who didn't abandon me.

Can you curse someone without surname. Someone just called 'Bill'?

#81 Re: Main Forum » WHO HAS EVER BEEN CALLED BLUE? » 2018-07-09 12:14:10

Hi Blue, you were my mom and the queen. I was the kid who refused the crown. Later on someone killed you out of the blue for not working. Someone avenged you though.

I'd just like to point out that it's not like the gun debate! Gun debate is about who should by law be allowed to own a gun. With knifes that doesn't work.

A gun has to be bought (or stolen). A knife (or bow and arrow) can be made by anyone.

I personally was thinking of Sheeport as Woolvile, but oh well, not that it really matters anyway. Sheeport makes just as much sense.

I did too but Sheeport already stuck. And yeah, it doesn't matter as Sheeport has been "ovened" and permanently abandoned and Woolville is left to rot as it seems that Eves rather choose the northern Wellington or Junktown which continue to thrive.

Anyway, does anyone know this town? I assume it's one of the old ones because I've seen it before the big update.

I was trying for days to figure out how to reach it from the new villages.

#86 Re: Main Forum » Do clothes vanish? » 2018-03-27 12:19:08

I still believe they just move to a free tile + some become invisible. Please do check next time if there's something on the nearest free tiles. Works for me every time.

Also, about clothes shortage, I think it's more related to people dying outside of the town. Whenever I become an adult and can walk longer distances, I scout around the town and find a bunch of clothes on dead people killed by bears and wolves.

Kudos to all the people who maintain custom servers, I'd love to try them all out.

But... I'm fine with violence and griefing, it's just that I want to have a fair chance at dealing with it.

#89 Re: Main Forum » Will we see invisible people one day ? What do ? » 2018-03-27 05:58:51

I got killed by invisible griefers twice in the same day. I don't really mind griefers, they are fun to kill, but it's no fun if they have superpowers like this.

It all has to do with dying while wearing or carrying something.

When you die you basically become a container for all your objects. If you die in a field, whatever you were carrying vanishes because your corpse container can occupy the same space as a farm. And then theres the fact that your grave will eventually deteriorate, and all the objects still on your character are spread to the surrounding tiles... so if you die in a crowed spot most, if not all, your possessions will vanish.

As much as I've noticed, the clothes don't vanish, but just get relocated to the next free tile. When this happenes, some pieces of clothing or whatever the person was holding, become invisible.

If this happens around you, you can retrieve the invisible buggy items by placing another object on the suspected tile (as in replace the holding item with the invisible one on the ground)

Better with fences, then you can shoot them.

No, it's not.

It is not invented, it evolved from folklore and was only later used for mass crowd control.

I agree that there should be a system but I also agree that punishments are not the way to go.

I think the idea of marking someone as untrustworthy is the best one I've heard so far (either manually by uses or automatically based on you number of murders). If marked, you can still do anything you like (and possibly redeem yourself if you work hard or when time passes) and the collective will know about you and what to do about you.

I'd call it karma - some way of past actions following you to your next lives and players having access to that information. It's not a direct punishment but people would be warned about the griever early on.

#93 Re: Main Forum » Presumption of Innocence? » 2018-03-23 11:12:43

No time for questions. I know this and still, always ask for an explanation, maybe they are a griever, maybe they killed a griever, maybe they dug out all berries to make a new berry farm....

I'm too naive and that's a mistake. Killing an innocent person is less damage than keeping a griever alive.

And sometimes they do explain and justify their actions like "I had to do it, he tried to kill me" but if you weren't there to witness it, you have to assume that it's a lie.

#94 Re: Main Forum » Meso's Idea and Discussion Thread » 2018-03-23 10:52:02

Someone said we don't have governments or countries but also, we don't even have stable villages and populations. A lot has to be done before trading and currencies should become a thing.

And honestly, I like the customs as they are right now; a vast majority of people want to help and create and share. Carrot farmers don't ask questions when people come and take away the carrots. They don't ask for your clothes in return. They assume you are being helpful elsewhere.

I'd love if we can achieve a society without currency and with abundant resources where people do their jobs and can freely use the products of others. (We already have this in towns where mothers raise children responsibly)

So someone built a bunch of oven bases in Sheeport, blocking the entrances to all rooms. The villagers apparently had to tear down the walls to get inside.

Sorry if this is off topic but I made a suggestion on Reddit about ovens and kilns. Upvote it here if you care:

I took shreenshots of the two places where I spent most of the time these days.

These are two villages, very near to each other.

The upper photos show the kitchen and storage room of the felonious north-eastern village.

The lower photos are from the messier south-western village.

Does anyone recognize these? I'd love to know their names.

#100 Re: Main Forum » Life of a Village Guard » 2018-03-19 12:58:08

I agree that it's much harder to kill a griever than it is for him/her to kill a farmer.

My cousin massacred half my colony and ran away. When I was grown up, my mom showed me where she hid her bow, arrows and knife. I took them with me to feel safe. 15 years later my cousin returned, and started killing again. I was right there, fully armed and ready.

I right clicked him, but even though he was moving slowly, he was still too quick. Instead of killing him, I ran to the spot I clicked and laid down my weapon. I tried grabbing it again and chasing the evildoer, but losing those 3 seconds was crucial. In all this stress I ended up accidentally starving and disappointing my dead mother, not fulfilling the promise I have her. The killer got away.

Screems, bloody corpses and slower moving assassins are waaaay too little.
