I like cooking and farming content, It's something that's accessible to pretty much everybody. Dif foods will always be useful for yum at the very least and also to spice up towns a little.
Potatoes are only hated because of they use up so much of the shovel, If not for that I'd have kids eat them instead of pies.
My inner chef is satisfied.
Welcome to Milk town. That building was a byproduct of an argument since a woman didn’t want to curse her mom.
Explain???
Well anyways, This was a nice enough town. Somebody was even farming wolf skins.
Yeah.....
This is why I don't like playing on update days, absolute chaos.
Content update?
PS: Enjoy your holiday, You Deserve it.
Me and my mother Tarr: http://lineage.onehouronelife.com/serve … id=3762548. She was too busy at the time and unintentionally abandoned me (I hope). No hard feelings, Being abandoned is no issue since others will feed you anyways.
Kelvin Christ: http://lineage.onehouronelife.com/serve … id=3762662. This was the man I encountered upon landing along with another guy who died to yellow fever.
It didn't take me long to realize that we were in the advanced tutorial stage. Many assume they complete the tutorial when they escape their cells, It is not true freedom, however. Jason gave us false freedom thinking that we wouldn't truly escape tutorial land. Anyways I did normal town stuff until I saw my mum running north, I followed her and found that we had oil. She died telling everybody about the oil but nobody else really cared.
It took me years to actually get the oil, Lots of running back and forth with charcoal, water, and pipes. I actually exhausted all the iron at the time making pipes (someone mined vein soon after though). In my old age, my mother's ghost told me to fly west to get back to civilization proper.
I was hoping to get a city and integrate with the outside world. Unfortunately, I landed in a town on its last days, just a couple of men with no women in sight. I was hoping that the guy would be able to fly eastwards and end up back in tutorial town so they could annex the former Christ territory. But it seems the return trip didn't happen as intended.
Sounds like trolls to me, No decent player would breed pigs.
I still think running away should NEVER be the preferred option. Take my recent life for instance (http://lineage.onehouronelife.com/serve … id=3761987)
Alot of these kids ran away at the first chance, Most likely the same person. This is just like the days before /die, The same kid running off every time made me want to stop playing. I dedicated a good amount of time chasing this kid, trying to stab him just like the old days.
Our town had a good amount of yum mum's and a cook that knew to make a variety of foods. This drew in a lot of babies, but there was this one guy who didn't wanna stay. The runner method wasn't effective because we all had priority on new babies, so he just kept spawning back to us and running.
So finally at 55, I got the stab in and was happy to starve on the slowdown. Hope they enjoy Eve Hell, It's well earned for these with such high standards that the majority of towns can't meet. If you're gonna run, know that when you're getting the same towns it's probably because they are the only towns. Live in one of them or fuck off to build your dream town yourself.
I don't blame the people suiciding, The blame lies on Jason for his Area Ban system.
I'm tempted to start answering "yes" to this question just to see what happens. If my mom lets me die for "admitting" to be new, I'd rather contribute to a different village anyways. But I don't really want to waste my mom's time if she starts trying to teach me how to tend berries or something.
I don't bother asking most of my kids if they are new, since it is a loaded question. A better question might be "is there anything you would like to learn?" Or if the other player is very young and can't answer in a complex way "want to learn how to X?"
Yeah, I might do that just to see what happens. I kinda wanna see how new players are treated nowadays when I started everybody was basically new.
Well the skill level of "not new" people can vary, Some overestimate their skills and bitch about everybody else later. Like going around talking about how we have no carrot seeds when you could be out getting them.
Better to judge people on their actions rather than words. Does your kid start working at 3 years or do they just eat?
Yes, I've thought about this. Coming soon!
Honestly, I'd rather more content instead of just more faces. It's been weeks since the last proper content update.
Thanks!
To answer:
No, I didn't anticipate this happening exactly. Most adaptations don't go anywhere, nor cause any confusion, and no one has ever tried to copyright or trademark my work "out from underneath" me before, not in China or anywhere else. No one has ever claimed sole authorship of my work before. No one has ever mixed my artwork with Don't Starve artwork before. No one has ever released a free version of my game with ads in it before. A whole bunch of new things have happened!
Yes, the game has been very successful, 4x more successful than any of my previous games.
Has this experience changed your stance on copyright?
Seems like others have abused the relative freedom you had given them.
Sir, You are under arrest for stealing/moving shit.
You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can be used against you in court. You have the right to talk to your mother for advice before we ask you any questions. You have the right to have your mother with you during questioning. If your mother is dead, one will be appointed for you before any questioning if you wish. If you decide to answer questions now without your mother present, you have the right to stop answering at any time.
Area Bans
Lineage bans, Cursing, Twins, Donkey Town and /die
The vegetable/afk
The kid that doesn't move when they grow hair, They said Hi to you earlier but now they just stand still. If a male they then get starved.
The females are occasionally left to live to become the afk mother. When you're born to them grandma or whoever will start looking after you instead, Once they turn 40 they are then left to starve.
What were you wearing, All fur?
Why not both?
I'd say use furs for packs over shirts, Got other options like a sealskin coat for a shirt.
Kind of hoping we get some "tech" that lets us customize a bit, changing hairstyles etc. Maybe gene mod our babies so we don't get the boy with porky pine hair.
Every time you smoke you get a yum boost but you lose one year of life every time. Something similar for alcohol.
Is it really illegal to smoke/drink underage within a game or is it just illegal to depict underage smoking/drinking?
If it's the latter then making these items only useable once your character is 18+ should be fine.
I was expecting this to be about girls who run away to suicide....
Could do with a forge area as well, Maybe tool storage as well.
I've been seeing a lot of towns with central buildings. Usually the bakery, Problem is people also use them to raise babies. This is good in theory because naked kids won't starve as fast. Butttt the birth rates are so high that buildings are quickly filled with babies and mothers, also people trying to work.
Would it kill to make multiple rooms for work areas and nurseries, Even separate buildings if there's no space for an extension.
I'd been getting minor lag for a while, It's gotten a lot worse since big servers. For me, it primarily happens in big towns.
You probably also know that planes barely seem to function, often taking off and landing on the same strip.
Kind of glad to be honest, a lot of those towns were horrendous anyways. Jason finally got the apocalypse he wanted.
Tarr wrote:Potjeh wrote:Today I was in a pre-oil village that had a landing strip, and an unrelated lady suddenly landed there and got stranded in our village because she didn't bring spare kerosene. Suddenly I had motivation to work on oil and try to help her because she felt guilty about losing the plane. I did manage to make an oil rig and some pipes for drilling, but alas some guy stabbed her and she didn't get to see it. But she did leave a daughter behind her, which meant double family in our town which IMO is a great thing. So yeah, I'd say planes have impacted my game at least.
On a funny note after finally getting a plane together (Big thanks to everyone who helped out with the plane!) a kid started the engine for me but forgot to put the tank in the plane... I only noticed this after I ended up in the stone family village now stranded for the rest of my life.
Planes are a doable project for a group of builders in under a life. It was taking me about two hours to basically solo (nearly) kick them out with each attempt failing within about 5~ minutes of finishing the thing up.
Also for anyone who doesn't know make landing pads in your village to make stone "cars." After they decay into roads they are able to be picked up and you can run at road speed as long as you hold onto it. Bonus points for the fact that your road car is able to walk over snakes and deadly animals without harming you. Very very useful stuff if people care to make them for future gens.
Hey the stones! My ma was eve stone and i was bb. We luckily found a half built eve camp so starting was half the work. I cant believe they're still going too. I wonder if they managed to use your plane themselves eventually.
They still have a plane but I can't get the damm thing to take off. It does the thing but just lands back in our town.
