#76 Re: Main Forum » STOTRAGE UPDATE » 2019-05-29 15:04:22

There's not enough people on the server to eat all the bread it'd take to remove the grain clutter from making sufficient baskets for one small family.

#77 Re: Main Forum » STOTRAGE UPDATE » 2019-05-29 14:54:37

The problem with boxes is that they're hard to access, because there's no room for dropping the baskets due to all the clutter. That, and baskets being too resource intensive combined with them decaying makes sure they're always in short supply. A shelf that stores nine items and doesn't decay would be vastly superior to a box of baskets even though that stores twelve items.

Now, the baskets might not seem that expensive given that two straw isn't hard to grow, but the problem is that you're creating two tiles of grain clutter in the process, and when you add the third tile you need for the basket itself you're basically just spinning in place if you try to reduce clutter by making straw baskets. This can be solved by making grain stackable, preferably within a storage item like a crock pot or a cloth bag, and by giving us a decent sink for grain. How about making pigs eat grain instead of corn, and adding recipes that make pigs actually useful?

#80 Re: Main Forum » Rampant Eve griefing has made the game unplayable » 2019-05-28 12:37:04

The worst part of all this is what it's doing to the game's community. It's turned extremely toxic and unwelcoming, which pushes away potential new players and is a sure recipe for slow death. And this damage to community is permanent, I think even if the Come Together update was reverted right now the community would never go back to the friendliness level we had before.

#81 Re: Main Forum » This Game is dead! » 2019-05-26 15:20:55

Yeah, pretty much every life is a shitpile of violence now, and 90% of them at end tech. So much for different experience every life.

#82 Re: Main Forum » TOMATOES a tool for griefers ! » 2019-05-25 23:25:41

Beans, pork and tomato in crock pot - pork'n'beans.

#83 Re: Main Forum » Other games solve a lot of these long-term problems with regular wipes » 2019-05-25 08:59:23

Ye I think you should just roll back the Come Together update. It's basically removed early and mid game. Even with weekly wipes we'd just have the first day of the wipe where we can do exciting civ advancing stuff, and then the rest of the week we'll just be stagnating like we are now.

#84 Re: Main Forum » Rework week: YUM chain & Rail Kits » 2019-05-24 15:23:24

If carts are animals, can you somehow reuse the biome restriction mechanics? Basically carts are restricted to a rails "biome", can only move in cardinal directions and the AI remembers the direction it moved last tick and tries to move in the same direction in the current tick, or +/- 90 degrees if that direction is unavailable (stops moving if the only direction available is back the same way it came). You lose derailing that way, but is it really that important to have it?

#85 Re: Main Forum » Can we change how close Eves spawn to each other? » 2019-05-24 15:14:23

Yup, iron is basically non-existent. You really need to implement iron mine tiers analogous to well tiers for this to work.

#86 Re: Main Forum » Thoughts on eves on town? » 2019-05-24 14:18:17

No, I just /die because those towns are a disaster waiting to happen.

#87 Re: Main Forum » Thoughts on eves on town? » 2019-05-24 13:58:44

There is zero benefits from letting foreigners live, and plenty of drawbacks. All foreigners must die, not just Eves.

#88 Re: Main Forum » OMG stop doing this. » 2019-05-24 00:12:25

I don't even leave a plate to make room for iron. It's just straight disrespectful to the potter.

#89 Re: Main Forum » A different kind of leveling system. » 2019-05-23 15:50:18

You can forget diesel engines if this is implemented.

Why though? If you really want to incentivize buildings, make door that have been opened go to a "just opened" state for like 30 seconds where they still retain indoor heat, and only if they're left open longer the building loses heat.

#91 Re: Main Forum » Eve etiquette » 2019-05-21 12:06:23

Why would you ever want someone around you that can use a sword on you and that you can't curse? Kill all foreigners as soon as you see them, it's the only rational option.

#92 Re: Main Forum » Idea: spindling a single wool should give way more yarn » 2019-05-19 16:21:52

Honestly I think it'd make the most sense if the fancy clothes were cheaper to make than knitted stuff, but lasted shorter. Planned obsolescence is a cornerstone of modern industry, after all.

#93 Re: Main Forum » Do you welcome Eves in your village/town? » 2019-05-18 22:37:51

I don't do it myself, but killing Eves is the only rational choice.

#94 Re: Main Forum » If fences are not viable, what does that mean? » 2019-05-18 16:39:11

Speaking of building materials, clay bricks would be nice.

Hell, not even just food. Add raccoons that will steal *anything*, but can be kept out with a fence, and magpies which will steal any small item (ie stuff that fits in baskets) and can fly right over a fence so you need walls to stay safe from them. Also dogs could finally be useful by killing raccoons.

#96 Re: Main Forum » How to make swords balanced » 2019-05-18 00:19:41

Well yeah, in that case you *are* a sitting duck. Not just after killing someone, though, but at all times.

You shouldn't be a sitting duck after using it

This whole business of running around and dodging four people who are trying to get you is obviously nonsense gameplay.

Mutually exclusive.

#98 Re: Main Forum » Should the sword kill everyone from other families or only foreigners? » 2019-05-17 23:22:22

That's just pure roleplay. There's no actual concrete benefit from having strangers around. The only rational course of action is to exterminate them, and given a couple of weeks everyone will arrive to that conclusion and extermination will be the default for vast majority of the playerbase.

#99 Re: Main Forum » Should the sword kill everyone from other families or only foreigners? » 2019-05-17 23:12:59

It might be an interesting dynamic if there was some sort of trade-off between security and trusting other families, but there isn't. There is no benefit whatsoever in letting foreigners live. Zilch. Nada.

#100 Re: Main Forum » Should the sword kill everyone from other families or only foreigners? » 2019-05-17 16:45:11

LOL @ rich dynamic. The only rational action is the exterminate all foreigners because swords are OP. The playerbase just needs to catch up with the meta. And there's no such thing as building trust between families, because families are composed of individuals with wildly different attitudes and behaviors. They may be related in strictly game mechanics sense, but they don't have anything in common culturally like real families do.
