Better be ready for war in this game. You can call it griefing but it's actually war. Some people want to be the king/queen of the village and take the crown by force. Just like IRL. Why was there 4 knives anyway. Obviously your parent was killing people. These people that say 'too many have to kill some boys' I make sure to spawn as a girl and kill them all. Serves them right.

I like it.
MAYBE if you kill someone they don't get born to you for an hour or more though..

Maybe the other way. If you kill someone you can not be born near them for a wile. Then a baby can't kill 5 die and re spawn in that same community. Your way makes no sense.

I was thinking like if you defeat someone who is griefing you they should
have to be a an outsider if they want to attack you again. Having to kill
psycho the reincarnating baby is a lil rough I think as there isn't anything
other than giving your friends a code character to utter to know they are
not the repeat killer.

Interplayer conflict is fun and fine but it has to be possible to defend
against people who have it out for you, when they can just be reborn
to you endlessly it is kinda imba in their favor.

Just discuss in threads you want to bump. It will happen on its own. Upvotes seem to lead to shitty cultures where people chase crap like karma and etc.

It would be wonderful if there were more cool things for wanderers to do other than just survive.
If their goals could conflict with the settlers so much the better, conflict is engaging..

First of all it would be nice to be able to slaughter ALL animals for food and pelts of various kinds.
After I club dat seal and skin him, let me eat him too. Let us kill and eat horses and even bears
and penguins too. I am sure you and others have tons of good ideas. Please help us all brainstorm
so it can be easier for God to put it into the game.

Remember: Nomad shit can't be a shortcut for settled paths cause then it would ruin settled play.
E.g needle without fire is no good cause it is important step in camp construction same with firekit
that takes less than 2 rope or something as hard, people in small bands can easily have room for
basic tools in backpacks..

Fuck yeah! I heard about the north village while I lived in the south one.

I went questing for carrot seeds and soil but I got lost and striped naked in the
snow. Being a lone male isn't fun I know I can survive so no point in just doing
that, I like multiplayer <3..

Perhaps you were, but not in that life. My girl was a lil blonde. In that life I didn't farm

nothing. I figure when they are reincarnated they will be more prosperous. Perhaps a

I think the point is to make you go search for solutions.
When starting a town, you can rely on onions, wild carrot seeds, fertile soil pits and, now also, Tule Reeds.
Once resources run dry, you will have to adjust to the situation.
This means creating a farm/bakery to ensure there is enough food, leaving carrots on the farm to make sure you got enough seeds and so on.
The result is an everchanging situation, which makes every playthrough feel different.

It might feel artificial or does not 'fully' reflect the reality (where reeds will grow back), but do we want a game that is exactly like real life?

Yeah you are probably right.

Location Location Location

Good temp tiles to base from with lots of pools nearby, hopefully at least 1 maple and juniper for fire restarting.

You can go either fire + clay/adobe-> bowl or fire +rabbit-> needle->pouch to start watering shit.

You need both eventually but you need extra rope to make
snare early if you go for pouch. Bonus is 3 pouches in basket so nice.

Metal is good, if you have a ton of milk you can make stone hoes though.
Hoes are not a big pain to maintain really.

Cistern is mostly only useful for use with with a well+wellmaster to run well
water into safely for town use. Otherwise it only holds water, you should set
rup near ponds anyways and it is unlikely you will be under using your ponds
for long.

Berry farm is key, run carrots as you set it up, it is not AMAZING for you the
planter but it is a GODSEND for your grand-kids, when they start getting those
sweet regrowth's. Lately people have been better about watering the berries
this is good. Sheep will probably be fixed soon if it isn't already and be pooping
like a boss.

I think future is double pen setup for sheeps, you have a bathroom pen for the
sheep babies to grow up in and shit up a storm then you send them over to the
adult pen to keep the floor clear for more shit. Currently if you fail to get composting
up you will eventually get your farm wheated by some asshat, with compost you
will recover so no biggie.

Also the seal is clutch like she said.

If we are still moving towards robots with lasers like in trailer then being able to map the
world is FINE. AFAIK you have to induce magnetism in iron while it is still molten to line up
the dipoles to make it be magnetic after it sets.

I would still use a external way/plugin to get the coords.

Doesn't matter people will wheat the fields hide the food and kill people with knives. You are not that important.

Damn we had a TON of mutton, I must be doing something wrong I raised at LEAST 10 sheeps personally... no poop
I told people we needed to craft exlax at the pharmacy to unlock poo.

I really hope it is bugged, or that someone know what we are doing wrong. I think a sheep
being on a tile in the moment of its growing up is maybe a little to harsh to pull off..

At least I made a few sets of wool clothes, none of the fancy died shit though that was before my time <3

Yup, I was actually King Ted (just died). I was in that town a couple generations before, when I made the first 10 or so stone tiles and all the red clothes. Came back and decided to go blue.

This isn't the first town where I haven't seen dung though. I was in another one yesterday where I couldn't get dung to work, but I figured it was because my pen was too cluttered.

I was just there someone wheated the fields and most people were starving, I set out to forage and maybe bring back soil and seeds but I got lost.

Possible that dung is bugged now?

You needa chill more. Desert is your friend. You can just live off the land if you like. I raised just
raised 3.5 kids to when they could grab as a naked eve with no farm. Me and the last kid were having
fun being wandering shamans and we stepped on a snek! Alas the only two kids that died just quit
etc, no f nothing.

Mind your temperature.

#1218 Re: Main Forum » OHOL Basics: How to be a contribuing member of society » 2018-04-28 02:35:10

This is very good. On the subejct of domestic berries, it is important to remember that they do
NOT regrow unless they are empty. They also do not decay. This means leaving the last berry
is being an ass as you are not letting it regrow for the next person while also shifting the watering
burden onto them..

If you are going to pick a berry of a domestic bush, pick them all, store the extras and water the
damn plant. Otherwise you are just making stuff harder for everyone else. How many times I come
back to the huge berry farm and find them all with just one berry left..

Very good guide, the part on berries just lil off big_smile

If you want to add in how to use a well without destroying it https://onehouronelife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?id=1353
you just need one water to check multiple wells and it is best to just leave a bowl by the wells for that purpose.

#1219 Re: Main Forum » Sheep dung. » 2018-04-28 02:22:44

Afaik they only poop on transition from baby to adult sheep. Bonus is that you will have tons of sheep so there will be some to slaughter for mutton.

there remains still the question of the finite soil to feed whatever domesticated animal

Soil is NOT finite any more dude.
Compost is Carrot+Berry Bowl+Straw +water+poo
Poo = Carrot+Berry Bowl
Compost gives 4 Soils.
2 for Berries upkeep (if pushing a lot of it) 1 for straw + some of the last one for two carrots and a two seeds.
Gives a side product of grains and a sheep (grown) perfect combo for 4 mutton pies as well as either one wool or sheep skin.

Also as berry farm grows and grows as a result of this process you will get more and
more regrows on the berries giving you more and more spare soils as a percentage.
Seeded carrot rows also do not need to be tilled, so if you were perfect with your seed
leaves you could have your only inputs to the process be water.. Given proper well
management (also possible) you can have more and more water over time.

I think there is a glorious future in composting as long as he doesn't
make it dependent on a resource that players can't influence or is flat
out decaying again. Flat out doomed mathematically is a depressing
game mechanic lol.. I like to believe that our villages COULD have a
future big_smile

if that's the actual explanation
then it still doesn't produce any new soil

& if all wild carrot seeds are griefed, which happened already more than once in the past few days for me, then you need to make carrot seeds on soil, so it will vanish, this settlement is then slowly running out of soil with no ability to ever recover, the more people live there, the quicker it gets

You only run out of soil if you don't tech up to sheep first.
Once you have sheep you can move beyond the carrot and
onto Mutton pies and spare berries. You can probably even
let the last carrot seed to destroy the soil so you don't have
to bother with hardened soil clogging up your city. You only
need a few seeds anyways and you can get a ton of food
out of composting which is soil positive anyways <3
