I was the one who made the three crowns with your gold. I still remember telling you we should make a wolf crown with one and you told me you were scared they would kill you! Great job on finding the gold! I had some really fun and memorable lives in that town.
People who grief are probably just lacking some kind of control in their own lives, or, like kubassa, have some weird inflated sense of self importance. Players abandon babies for all sorts of reasons, whether it's not enough time/resources, or even if they just don't feel like taking care of another kid. We've all done it, but most of us don't take personal offense and plot revenge when it happens to us, because we don't all think the world revolves around us.
Either way, don't care about griefers. I can recount all the great people I've played with and all the adventures and things we've built in my many lives, but I never remember griefers.
I guess because i have free will I play my own game, that I paid for, the way that I want to. NOT the way YOU want me to. I tell you what if you want to play my game along side your game shoot me 20 bucks and i'll give you my key.
Then you can play the same way on two accounts and multi box.

Roman empire is a great example of a civilization that died because it was too big and over consumed. IRL.
Roman Empire ended because infighting, and not really ended at all. At some point you had 4 Emperors, the last Emperor also was the first Pope, Curia was the Roman tribunals and still is the church law. They just stop controlling people by force using an army (that could be used to overthrown the current Emperor) and started using faith. And 300 years later the idea was replicated in the other side of Mediterranean
LOL not realy end at all.... What?
It end and died and everything crumbled to the ground so many years passed before it was ever re colonized. You must be educated in USA. Empire horded food. Only fed its soldiers. People did not like that in the end. Over consumed my friend. It had nothing to do with faith. Please read a history book.
Using the location script is great, but even when I custom server login and return to where I died, nothing is there, no town, no body, even the biome is different... what gives?!
Server resets. Make sure you are on the same server you were on with those coords.
Kubassa, I know this never works, but chill out man. We are trying to openly discuss the flaws we see. I understood your metaphor, but my point was that there was nothing of value to be stolen from the town. It was a shitshow because half the tiles were filled with bloody corpses that couldnt be moved. Sure children kill people all the time, but it isnt the same kid reincarnated doing all the killing, otherwise Im sure we wouldnt be here discussing this right now. If you actually read the other threads jason did talk about hiding the coordinates from players. Even though it is open source, he can certainly make it a lot harder if not impossible on his servers.
Anyways, take a breather, realize that its okay that we have different opinions, and then choose whether you want to continue discussing with us. Personally, I think it would be a lot more reasonable if a murderer couldnt be able to terrorize your village until it completely dies even though it takes multiple attempts where they actually are defeated.
The griefer has no value in their life. If they die, they can respawn and continue to do harm until the village becomes unrepairable. A person who intends good can not do the same. Once the final reproductive mother is gone, they have no chance at repairing the village. Im not saying they should, but the griefer needs to be limited to not give them the advantage in this situation. Like nofaz said, its ironic that you think i cant call someone a griefer because everyone has their own opinion... xD. Alright, ill be around, hope jason does something about this for all of us that see this as a flaw
I think your opinion of what a griefer is much different then mine. "WE" why are to chatting like you have a majority of people agreeing with you? You can speak for yourself but not others. The only problem is people cry about everything. Everything in some shape or form someone says it is griefing. Who are you to decide who is griefing anyway? Are you the server police so you can kill who you want because to you he is griefing? Maybe just grow up a bit and realize it is just a game.
I do not see a problem as you put it. I see a bunch of dumb noobs standing there in place getting killed.
Hey, war will happen.
+1

I was thinking like if you defeat someone who is griefing you they should
have to be a an outsider if they want to attack you again. Having to kill
psycho the reincarnating baby is a lil rough I think as there isn't anything
other than giving your friends a code character to utter to know they are
not the repeat killer.Interplayer conflict is fun and fine but it has to be possible to defend
against people who have it out for you, when they can just be reborn
to you endlessly it is kinda imba in their favor.
griefing is SUBJECTIVE. What bothers you may not bother someone else. Who are you to decide who dies?

If people didn't make backpacks in ancient times, that doesn't matter.
There will never be a bronze age in this game.
This is a game about modern people starting over from scratch.
That's what I thought.
Still, I'm not just making an observation that running out of resources never happened IRL. I'm saying that it probably couldn't happen at all, not even to vaguely humanoid aliens. That societies are in general too fragile to survive small changes in the environment.
Wow where did you get your schooling?

I was abandoned by a mother in the rabbit area by the north town and vowed to get revenge. I spawned back right in town and was taken care of this time by a different mom. Grew up waiting to see that players name. Finally found her and I took that sweet sweet, oh so sweet, revenge. Then I lost my mind filled with the blood of the baby aborter and had to kill everyone I could. I couldn't stop. I was rage filled because of her leaving me to die.
Moral of the story..... Don't abort your babies. Take care of them.
Wow. Someone spoiled your hope of a few seconds to be raised, so you took revenge and ruined their entire game, then extended it to everyone in the entire village, ignoring the kindness of the mom who DID raise you, then assigned the blame for your inexcusable behavior on that person and tell the rest of us not to abort implying you will do the same again.
You are evil, it's that simple.
Don't take moral advice from a monster.
Didn't ruin any game. I had a blast. I guess those deciding who will live and who will die might want to rethink their game strategy. If people want to play like that then I will decide who dies when I am old enough to get revenge.
Yes. I will do the same. Be WARNED!!!!!!!

Yeah but to do that you need to advance enough to be able to make metal things. Not to mention make sure your village survives and overproduces something in order to have something to trade. Which is very hard right now.
He means: Steal from a village and put it into his own area and then they can trade him for it back.
kubassa wrote:LOL I love it. You guys got owned.
Better be ready for war in this game. You can call it griefing but it's actually war. Some people want to be the king/queen of the village and take the crown by force. Just like IRL. Why was there 4 knives anyway. Obviously your parent was killing people. These people that say 'too many have to kill some boys' I make sure to spawn as a girl and kill them all. Serves them right.
Interesting point of view. Id like to note we didnt have a crown and the only nonrelative we ever saw was the one that killed me in the very end so if it was war it was civil. I think you are taking it a bit too personally about killing the people doing pop control. I havent done it yet but I should, because as often as griefers kill a village so does overpopulation.
Like the other posts, I agree there should be an arrangement where you cant respawn to the same family if you killed someone who has not killed before. To make this work, if someone in the family does not have a name, you can kill them and not be punished post mortum. This way you can kill babies (I don’t know why) or outsiders as a family unit. This would also increase the value of the meaning of a family name. Griefers would only have to be killed once. ADDITIONALLY, JASON NEEDS TO HIDE COORDINATES FROM THE CLIENT! That last griefer should not have been able to track me down, even though I didnt care in that situation there are times where that matters all too much.
No one has 'griefed' anyone, Your opinion of what griefing is, is different then the next person. Thus meaning your opinion is subjective. Your argument is moot my friend kids kill their parents all the time IRL just as parent kill their babies. I vote everyone kill you for thinking you get to decide who gets killed. Just be ready to fight at all times. Trust no one.
If the person spawn out of your family then there is no way that he ran to you using coords. Right now the spawn are too far to run in one life. Tens of thousands of tiles away.
P.S.
The crown was a metaphor.
I think knowing the coordinates is an exploit as well. It can be fairly easily obfuscated too, so I might log a suggestion on github for it.
Definitely not an exploit. The game is open source anyone can read anything in the folders.
Exploiting would be duping things in the game or running faster then you can normally.

I was probably that grandma that took you to the rabbits, I only did it because we had a psycho chick (my daughter I named Kate) who popped out ten kids didnt give them jobs an they ate all our carrots, didnt seed, picked all the berrys fromt he bushes an didnt water them. Pretty sure I apologized on the way to your abandonment (its kinda my thing). I also respawned in the town, please refer to the forum post The tale of Bob an Grover lol. You almost got all the women ALMOST but I saved my little sister from your rath.
Hehehe. Damn........ was a GG.
What if there was a tech item that gave you coordinates. Compass and Azimuth?
If we are still moving towards robots with lasers like in trailer then being able to map the
world is FINE. AFAIK you have to induce magnetism in iron while it is still molten to line up
the dipoles to make it be magnetic after it sets.
I would still use a external way/plugin to get the coords.
I am fairly certain I murdered every living women in that village. It might be dead now.

kubassa wrote:LOL should I code an aimbot that will only get you from any place on the map? Heat seeking arrow.........
I would love to see that, but keep in mind that bot will also need to be able to survive on its on and craft or find bows an arrows, not an easy task.
Also what do you do about the killer cooldown? If the bot kills inside a village and other people see it, they might kill it.
I don't think you know what an aimbot is.........
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cu1aEe0Gtd4
It auto aims to people when you fire.
No I wouldn't waste my time coding one. What I am getting at is if I can code an injector that will bypass VACnet I am fairly confident I could figure out how to get absolute coords from the server in this game. May even be able to get IP's, usernames and information on where other players are. All depends on how secure Jason's work is.
I am also fairly certain Jason doesn't have the time or the money to create or hide coding like valve does. Maybe he does who knows....
Seems a bit much to do for a few people who use coords in this game. IMHO
P.S.
World of Warcraft even has plugins that give you coords. Blizzard does not care if you know your location. coords are not a hack or a cheat.
I never used cords but i dont mind it at all that other people use them.
kubassa wrote:Some basic knollage of coding with open source it is very easy to do anything. Aimbots, ESP, and coords.
kubassa pls i dont want to open another investigation thread because of you and your knollage
LOL should I code an aimbot that will only get you from any place on the map? Heat seeking arrow.........
Some sophisticated tool COULD do map analysis to find absolute coordinates, though.
Some basic knollage of coding with open source it is very easy to do anything. Aimbots, ESP, and coords.
'sophisticated' coding is needed to crack, blizzard and valve anti cheats. Being honest in saying if you did mask the coords I would write a code that would give me absolute. Just saying. Not trying to push any buttons. I like finding "My Town" and working on it if it is possible.
As stated in my previous post your spawns have changed and there is a small chance of running back to your town unless it happened to be on an eve spawn and you are lucky enough to get that exact spawn again.
if it's "no big fucking deal", then just don't do it & why are you even defend it then, lol insults won't get you nowhere
#1 It was not an insult at all. It is a FACT. When i read your post all I could hear was a bay crying. (Refer to the game for demo)
#2 I like to work on my Town. Get over yourself. Crying on the forums because people don't want to hang at your farm with you is silly and childish. Should Jason write code so there is an invisible boundary so you can't run pasted it, so you have to stay close to where you were born with the people you were born to? Just to make YOU happy?

getting the coordinates is cheating, cheating destroys every game, it's not modding
if a feature gives you an advantage over other players in a MP then it's cheatingJason should ban this & similar stuff from official servers
players who want to use that can use private servers
#1 I think it is funny you think you speak for Jason.
#2 It is an open source game. (It's not cheating when anyone can read the source files)
#3 It doesn't give any advantage of anything. You can try to run to an area you have been before (big fucking deal).
#4 You are a baby child crying over no one wanting to stay with you in the game. Get over it.
awe poor baby. you can do what ever you like..... Don't worry what someone else wants to do in the game ffs. Play your own game. If people don't want to stay with you too bad. It's an open source game easy to create a cheat/hack it if the coords are hidden. Then you can just make the cheat/hack and still have coords. Get over it and play the game the way you think it's intended and stop trying to force others to play the way YOU want them to.
P.S.
The spawn right now are 2000 - 10000+ tiles away from each other and chances of you making it back to "your town", it is not going to happen.
Lately In the forums I can only see new threads whining about the game, and reading a few of those posts, it seems that some (seems most that use the forum) of the players forgot what terms they joined this project. Yes project, it was never stated that this was the final product. When joining a beta, it means that we are willing to test the project, everyone should know that mechanics would change along the way. From what I read before buying this game it will take 2 years.
And its an amazing thing being able to see this project develop, and all of this with only one person behind it. The most amazing it was Jason deliver all its intellectual property to us players, so we are free to enjoy this game in our own terms if we wish. Anyone can create their own version of the game, a community of players can (and it will sooner or later) design a new version and play it at their own will. If you can't see the importance of this, you will never to give a real input about how the game should be working.
As I see it, Jason could get 3 developers to work in this game and just manage them, but I guess this is like a baby to him, and while some parents pay for other people take care of they children, others want to raise them themselves, he clearly has a end goal for the game, and projected 2 years to reach it, if you work in software, you know it gonna take more, maybe after reach that goal Jason will find new things to add, if not other players will do it for him.
What I meant is, be constructive on your critics, stop whining you sound like a certain baby that is useless and only cry and are able to pronounce 2 letters... AND don't forget what a beta is
Show me on One Hour One Life where is says this is a project. It does NOT say that. So keep your bullshit to yourself. If people who purchased the game are unhappy it is not your business to make stuff up to defend anyone or anything fan boy. STFU.
If you can't form a reasonable opinion about something in 9 hours, you're a moron. Honestly after reading that Discord conversation, he is completely out of touch. We're supposed to play a game we don't want to play, just because he refuses to acknowledge criticism? What a failure this game is gonna be.
This 10000000%
If he can not swallow his pride and listen to the community then his game is going to be dead before it is even finished.
