It was probably just a griefer. They make up reasons to kill but they really just want to kill.

#102 Re: Main Forum » What's the most advanced society you've lived in? » 2018-06-27 05:45:48

I am post apocalypse so the biggest city is a one bell town. Some roads. One building, two or three more unfinished ones.

The days of old sound golden.

I made a reddit suggestion, pls vote up, to counteract the griefer down votes: https://www.reddit.com/r/OneLifeSuggest … d_firebow/

Thanks!

First, we need a way to unflint tip firebows.

I was at a big farm (Eve Masterson), and when we started there were 5 flint tipped fire bows, and by the time I died there were seven flint tipped firebow.

I've seen farms collapsed with plenty of raw stew and raw rabbit pies in them because of the inability to make fire. It's so easy to grief firebows. And then if you don't have milkweed to make rope needed to make firebows, you cannot make fire.

If someone picks up a firebow and doesn't make fire, they are a griefer. Kill them.
If they want to actually use a flint-tip firebow, there's almost always one in camp thanks to previous griefers, or they should make their own, instead of using a firebow.

If you have only one firebow in camp, put it in a backpack, or have someone always keep an eye on them. Maybe the person that's babysitting the kids.

Other then that, I had a good life at Eve Masterson's camp. I think I told about seven bedtime stories to the bbs. It was a good farm.

Oh shit. He is making things harder. Thanks 'Baby Sling' thread!

How about you corelate the height of the adult and hunger pips to how well they were taken care of as a baby?
If a baby was barely picked up at the minimum, and the ma barely talks, the baby grows up to be a short adult with less hunger pips.

How do you know that he was pretending?

Did you ask to see his certificates?  Were the forged?

"Are you a real doctor?"

"No, but I play one on TV."

Jason, You have a very dry sense of humor.

No, we don’t have to tolerate pedophile and racists, in whatever community.

But in game small towns most people are focused on survival, not defending against griefers. If griefers are part of the mechanic, we need more ways to defend. Right now there is a power imbalance.

To my partying family,

I was born Bobbi Robotham, and I was a party girl. I made y'all rabbit pies spiced with special mushrooms, and tried to cheer everyone because y'all were like working so hard. I got a great party hat, and preached to you how our Ma was holy because she was an Eve and spawned in a beautiful beautiful empty town. I was prepared to work hard as a daughter of an Eve, but the town had everything we need. So I took it as a mandate to PARTY! And in the middle of my story, one of my sons claimed to be Lord Jason. So I teased the little Godling, but sadly he had to leave to crash some servers.

My bro Domoni, went into a coma in early adulthood, but I fed him as he slept: gooseberries with something extra. And he was so surprised to be alive. He partied with me till the very end.

Party on!

It has taught me that individualism doesn’t work actually. That individuals cannot be counted to make choices that are best for the species or society at large.

The developer thinks this sort of experience is just an amazing part of the game!  /sarcasm

I did on my second or third try to Stormcity. I noticed the arrow was straight left and I was at cafe town. Which was really close.

But most other times I didn’t find it. Also I think if the arrow is diagonal, or doesn’t change quickly, it’s a far less promising sign.

Yeah growing actual trees would be nice too but given everything else in this game there probably going to be a pain to grow.

Oak trees grow with just squirrels hiding seeds. I just see it more it would take till the next generation to harvest.

#114 Re: Main Forum » I Hated My Mother » 2018-06-24 23:27:40

I’ve been given really shitty names and it basically freed me of any desire to be nice to the ma. An advance permission to completely ignore the player.

#115 Re: Main Forum » Question for Jason:Do you have any sort of plan for the game's future? » 2018-06-24 20:05:26

The longest generations now are maybe fifty long? Thanks to griefers and lack of being able to plant trees. So technology cannot advance further.

#116 Re: Main Forum » Has the lineage ban changed? » 2018-06-24 20:03:33

How does it matter if you come back to the same family or not till several hours later?

The only time it matters is if you are a griefer, or lived a long life and bonded with people, at which living over thirty minutes you have a lineage ban already.

#118 Re: Main Forum » Has the lineage ban changed? » 2018-06-24 19:12:28

The lineage ban should take into affect when a player COMMITS a murder as well.

To prevent them from suicide and coming back to finish off the civilization.

#119 Re: Main Forum » Give birth to the killer of your people » 2018-06-24 15:54:50

Yeah the concept sucks. But at least it stops people from being reborn in their own lineage and finishing it off completely. Which happened twice in this thread.

#120 Re: Main Forum » Give birth to the killer of your people » 2018-06-24 15:36:09

The lineage ban shouldn't have allowed murderers to be reborn to the same lineage. There's something broken with the lineage ban code. After living a whole 60 mins, after I was reborn in the same village even just after I suicided as a bb.

I had the whole day off today and was going to game a whole bunch. The griefing of an entire civ I was invested in, is a good disincentive, I need to get some work day anyways.

#121 Re: Main Forum » Give birth to the killer of your people » 2018-06-24 15:01:00

I just looked up your lineage. Eve Ding. And it was the village that I went to bed happy that I started with my sisters Sky and Liz (Lum). I was Adam: http://lineage.onehouronelife.com/serve … _id=389316

I was excited about playing the game again today after I woke up but that just doused my enthusiasm.

Fuck the Griefer for being reborn to someone so close. Good job Jason for dousing player enthusiasm. I guess long term continuation is not your goal for this game.

#122 Re: Main Forum » Give birth to the killer of your people » 2018-06-24 14:52:50

I agree with the OP. There is in game murderer and then there is just player harassment.

#123 Re: Main Forum » Missed Connections » 2018-06-24 08:20:56

Yay, Liz!

It *was* awesome! I've never had that experience before, building an entirely new civ. I had gone to gather food for you and when I came back you had an oven, plates and bowls, and I was so impressed!

Also our sister hunted, so with the three of us, we got a village going so fast. Even if the village doesn't last, I'm still proud of what we accomplished.

One of my highlights of this gaming journey smile

Thank you!

#124 Re: Main Forum » Missed Connections » 2018-06-24 08:07:02

I was born to Eve Ding. She named me Adam, and then my sister was born. My sister and I tried to talk to our Ma but had communication issues, but Ma had given me a tour when I was a BB and I told my sister that there was water and soil. It was a good spot! I showed her the water, and then we got to work. Mostly Sis worked, and I would feed her wild carrots and berries.

Then when Sis finished making bowls, I started farming and made a gooseberry farm.

Our younger sister, Skyelynn, also found us and she was very helpful and a great hunter. The three of us made Ding Village.

I've never actually helped start a civilization from scratch and it was amazing that in forty mins,  the place went from nothing to a bustling. I think I'm going to upgrade myself from newb to beginner intermediate ;-)
