Yeah iron is terrible already, this will only make it worse. Implement upgradeable mines first.
Imal vođekarce normalna insana da govori ponaški?
How about making translation a multi-generation project? We have paper and pencils, why not let us compile dictionaries? Bind a couple papers with a thread, and type /<word> <translation> while holding one to make a translation for a word? And if you hold a dictionary and type a word that's present in it, it automatically gets converted to the foreign word. Copying whole dictionaries should be a thing, of course.
FRIEND -> FLORE
vs
FRIEND -> VGOBIVG is not pronounceable.
Looks more pronouncable than written Polish ![]()
Building trust takes time. Time is one thing we don't have in OHOL. I understand why PvP in some form must be present, but I'm very sceptical about updates that promote PvP by sowing distrust. OHOL's fairly unique niche is that it's coop PvE, so I think going towards more PvP is the wrong call. As a lone developer you'll never be able to make something that stands out in the overcrowded PvP MMO niche when there's giants like Rust.
We've been trained by game devs to act like that, by getting consistently ignored unless we raise hell. You're better than most, but even you sometimes ignore what literally everyone wants (like making pigs actually useful, or better storage). This isn't to say that you should let the community dictate your game design, but explaining why you don't like some frequently suggested thing would be much better than simply ignoring it.
Microtransanctions, seriously? What's next, lootboxes? AAA games are collapsing due to this shit, just look at Fallout 76 or Anthem. Timer between respawns is fine, but it should be just long enough to be annoying rather than preventing you from playing (ie under 5 minutes).
IMO the time in Donkeytown should be determined by (total curses) / (total playtime) rather than just total curses.
If a griefer changed would you forgive him or would he be marked for life He/She.
People don't change. Once an asshole, always an asshole.
IMO it should be hot steel rod under newcomen hammer to get hot sword blank, then you'd have to quench it in a bucket of palm oil which would consume the whole bucket. Swords are ridiculously powerful, so it makes sense that they should be hard to make.
There is no future. Just played a game, and the number of babies has dropped dramatically. I was the only girl, and I didn't get a single baby girl, not even a SIDS one, so my family died out. Looks like people are quitting en masse.
Personally I'm just gonna stop talking in the game altogether.
Yeah I think all this will accomplish is making Discord mandatory. Anyone willing to write a plugin that automatically puts people in same area into the same channel?
This is gonna suck.
Actually in the myth the women were persuaded to marry Romans by all sorts of promises. It was still abduction because their fathers were adamant against letting their daughters marry Romans. There certainly was actual rape in real historical bride kidnappings, but a lot of the time it was what we would today call eloping.

No offense but that really just encourages running. You want /die to be the preferred option as you want to make sure moms get their cooldown back instead of all your babies running away and double screwing you. Whenever /die looks like an unattractive option you just up the amount of babies dying in the wilderness which helps with the bone problem but still screws the mom.
No, as I explained in follow-up post, it's not just for /die, it's for death from any cause.
Modern world ain't all that great either. There's no metal shackles on us, but most people are shackled by debt at levels unprecedented in known history.
but it makes me wonder if early human tribes actually were ruled by women, as the death of all females would lead to the death of the tribe.
I don't think so, bride kidnapping seems to be common in many tribal cultures. Heck, even in Roman mythology the rape of Sabine women is a very prominent myth (the word rape being used in an archaic meaning of abduction rather than sexual assault).
This seems fair too. But if the timer is too long people will go back to running a starving which is worse.
That's the issue with any penalty for using /die.
I misspoke. I meant you can't respawn for five minutes no matter how you died, /die or starvation/animal.
Make it so you can't immediately respawn after you /die. You often use Rust for inspiration, so why not Rust's bag timer? Ie after you're born you get a five minute period in which you can't be born again.
Yeah 2 seems best.
Problem 2 sounds terrible to me.
I'd prefer a higher tech alternative to hot coals, maybe an iron stove or something.
That being said, it's not hard to help with lathe and it's very useful since it's hard to lathe everything in one go solo. Just offer the engineer help and listen carefully what you need to lathe. Personally I'll usually ask for assistant to lathe two baskets of crude pistons all the way to valves while I do cylinders, pistons and nozzles.
Raw rubber. Not hard, just time consuming. That and buckets of water for the newcomen machine.
