Thanks for the explanation Joriom!
So does Jason have the right to set and enforce rules in his own server (not taking into account how feasible this may or may not be, or whether or not he would want to)? Or do people have the right to do what they want with/on his servers regardless of his preferences? In the example you used with the mobile game they hosted their own servers, so they didn't do anything with Jason's.
Again, I'm just curious and am trying to get a better understanding. It seems he does have some say, as he limited your bot to one server at a time. Or is that simply because you payed to have access to one server at a time? I'm unsure.

Actually, it is only okay if Jason says it is okay. It is his game and he has the right to set the rules. If at any time he decides bots are not okay, then that will be that. You are playing an multiplayer game after all, not a single-player.
ACTUALLY the game is FREE DOMAIN so yeah
Okay, so now I'm curious. I though this game was open source, not public domain (which I think is what superfun meant). I thought open source simply let others use the code however they choose as a source for their own projects, not give them the right misuse the original work itself. Am I wrong?

I just saw the note you guys! It's still there! Your names will live on! ![]()

It does give extra pips to an invisible pip bar represented as "+bonus number". This is separate from the HUD element showing your yum chain.
You never noticed the +bonus number ticking down?
This is actually what I meant by the hunger bar decreasing slower. It adds extra invisable pips to the bar (represented by +#), so the visable bar stays full for longer and doesn't start visably decreasing for a while. I guess I could have worded it better. My bad.
I spent a whole life collecting and baking different foods to try out the yum bonus and ate all the foods in my next life. I got up to a yum bonus of+13, but it MADE NO DIFFERENCE to my hunger level or how fast my hunger went down or how many pips I had. What did I do wrong? I must be misunderstanding something.
That's odd... I've always seen a very big difference in how much slower my hunger level decreases when I get my yum bonus that high. In fact, even +6 or 7 makes a big difference for me. Whenever I get over 10, I only need to eat very rarely. Were you standing in a bad temp spot?
I was Doha. Amerie was my dad. Sadly, I didn't get to see him that often as I was busy trapping rabbits and making backpacks for the town. He was a very dedicated worker and made many pies. He kept the town fed for years. I wish I could have spent more time with him before he died. His last request to me was to continue baking in his stead, and so that is what I did for the rest of my life. He really was loved by many.
If you love you hair and care about them a lot - don't. I have natural black hair and I need to bleach it for few hours and then dye it for few hours every ~2 months (would do more often but I can't stand that much time wasted to often). That KILLs them, really.
Wow, your hair is naturally black? I thought it would be white with how vibrant that blue is. How light do you bleach your hair? Blue is a difficult color to achieve. The oranges, yellows, and browns in hair are on the opposite side of the color wheel, so they tend to bleed through into the blue color naturally, dulling the hue. Very nice Joriom! I don't think I've ever seen such blue hair!
I noticed there were a lot of new players playing yesterday morning. I am a very patient person but I was at my wit's end and had to step away from the game and do something else.
So many new players.
I don't have anything against new players. In fact, I love teaching new players but there were simply too many to make that feasible. You can't teach in chaos.
I was in a lot of camps that were very obviously made by some less experienced players. "It's fine", I though to myself, "I can fix it". I tried, I really did, but people kept getting in the way and nobody was helping (in fact, many were doing the exact opposite, albeit unintentionally). I was struggling to support 10 people on my own while also trying to evolve the camp to prevent it from dying out. Then I finally realized my time would be better served doing something less stressful and I decided to suicide and read a book instead.
I'm sorry for the people I failed. I loved you all and I made the same mistakes you all did as a new player, so I understand. There were just so many of you and it was too much for me to do alone. I hope we can play together again under better circumstances.
I don't think I have ever met a vicious pit bull. I have no problem with them being potrayed as such in game though. They were bred to be fighting dogs after all. They were also bred to have a fierce loyalty to their owners, making them some of the most loyal dogs you can find. That is why they make such good family dogs if raised right. It is also why they are willing to fight to the death for their owners if persuaded. (Not that I support raising dogs in real life to be agressive. I don't)
Chihuahuas on the other hand, those things just tend to be out right mean. It is suspected that they were bred to hunt rats. Have you ever seen a wild rat fight? There are some kind ones out there but, generally, it takes some training to override their agressive tendencies. They tend to be cat-like in their personalities as well, in the way that they tend to do things for their own benefit rather than their owner's. It's a good thing that they are too small to do to much damage to humans.
I spend most of my time doing compost related things. Making pens, getting sheep, carrot/wheat farming, compost making, taking care of berries if needed, etc. If compost is well taken care of, I usually end up baking, snaring rabbits, or smithing. I will also do odd jobs if I see they need to be done (like making/improving wells). I try to teach new players when I can too. Unless teaching, I really only talk to others in newer camps as they require more coordination. I'm more of a silent worker I guess.
I got my first generation over 20! I'm so happy! This was from an eve run too, not a city! Thank you all my babies T-T

I was just born into a Tarr village.
Someone named Dune Tarr locked me into a room and I died.
I don't know why I knowingly walked into a room with a lock on it but that kid came out of nowhere and shut that door on me and then claimed he was 'sorry'
Dammit lol
I saw that! I'm sorry I couldn't do anything. I had no idea where the key was and wasn't old enough to hold a weapon, not to mention I had no idea why he locked you in there in the first place, so I have to admit to taking the easy way out and ignoring it. Sorry.
On the bright side, lesson learned right? No walking into lockable rooms without the key XD
Can someone bring those of us who were gone for a week up to speed on what the whole Tarr situation is about?
The Tarrs somehow make their way into almost every city. People get born to Tarrs over and over again. They breed like bunnies and never die out. This annoys some people XD
+1 to Team Tarr!

It wasn't that long, but I'm so proud of all my descendants!
My last words were about being able to see my great grandbaby as an eve. I was so happy!
I was Eve Lynn! Jenna was my daughter. Sadly, I died of lag (kept me from eating in time) before I could turn 60. I'm glad you had fun there! Seems the line lived 9 generations!
Yes, you are "forced" to beat the tutorial as a new player (unless you muck in the Settings folder).
After that, it's accessible from the death screen only.
Trying to avoid too much clutter on the login screen.
Tutorials should always be easily accessible, Jason. It makes no sense to only make it accessible by death. People will want to play it more than once. It would not be "clutter" on the login screen. It is a necessity for new players.
Why isn't the tutorial accessable from the main login page? When you log in, it automatically puts you in the game. New players have to play one game, die, then they can play the tutorial. Isn't it kind of odd to force new players into the whole game before they have a chance to go through the tutorial? Maybe this has been changed since I've started, and their first login spawns them in the tutorial, but this wasn't the case a couple months ago. Even if this is the case, if they exit the game and want to play the tutorial again, they still have to die in the real game.
I may be missing something obvious here, but isn't this a little odd?
I've seen a few bigger towns. They have buildings for the smith, bakery, hospital, and possibly a storage.
There was one I was in a few times that had all of this, plus a nice rose garden, 4 houses up north, and two more villages to the north-west and east. It had a library as well. A track ran from the sheep pen to the bakery for mutton transportation. It was a nice place.
Any camp with enough resources and water can become a town like this as long as enough girls live to adulthood without starving or dieing in other ways, like to wild animals or griefers. You also need some productive people in your town to get things going too.
Ask babies if they are new. If they say yes. Throw them away.
Let's not do this please...
There is definitely a problem with how new players are expected to learn the game. I was a new player myself a couple months ago, and believe me, I understand.
In my opinion, players should never be required to extensively research a game to learn it. Not to mention that the majority of people in the world don't learn well by simply reading something. This is common knowledge to anyone in a teaching position in real life. This makes online guides one of the most ineffecitive methods to teach new players.
I am guessing that, like you said, it is expected for others to teach new players themselves, but a few game mechanics actually contradict this (like the limited speech and short lifespan)
The learning curve is only going to get steeper as the game moves forward. This means that with things the way they are right now, new players will be less and less likely to continue playing the game as time moves on.
This really needs a solution. It should not be up to us players to find a solution in-game, because it is the game itself that is flawed in this regard, not us. I'm sorry Jason, but if you want this game to succeed in the future, this issue should be taking precedence.
If we can't eat the carcasses of predators, could we at least move them? I've seen bears die on stone roads too often recently.

Have you already worked out the ingredients for gunpowder then?
I'm not sure if you can implement this, but the area around the magma pools shouldn't be farmable. There would likely be layers of basalt rock (cooled lava) around the area with magma, meaning no soil. Volcanoes also spew toxic gasses, killing any life in the area. You can actually see this happen with the recent volcanic activity in Hawaii.
Magma should also give off heat, like a fire, but hotter. Not only is this heat wholly realistic, it would also be a good way to represent being in proximity to the toxic gasses, as the extreme heat would make the food bar drop faster. Actually, making the area close to the pool inhospitable to players would prevent them from farming near there anyway, making my first point rather pointless. Of course this would have to be balanced so that they don't die too quickly, just hot enough to make staying there for prolonged periods of time unwise.
