I dont understand why you would write a bot that is so obvious. Why?
Hes not doing anything wrong. Oh you don't like it. Better ban him. SMH.
No you misunderstood me, i never said that i dont like it.
But I dont know any game that would allow botting? Does OHOL allow botting?
Do you know it is a bot as FACT, or are you just assuming? Either way you have no idea who the person is or what he is doing. Move on and stop trying to be a 'game police' and play the game. Move out of FOV and you can't see what he is typing. No bother to anyone.

Hes not doing anything wrong. Oh no someone all they do is type '666'. What are you people like 10 years old? Get over it hes not doing you any harm FFS and play your own game.
Oh you don't like it. Better ban him. SMH.
i tend to try out playing differently each game, i can be a smith, a hunter, i can survive with 2 initial carrots and a needle without a home marker, return in full gear
people die around me like flies, if you would follow one guy a game, you would see that they run around without any purpose, then somehow diethe temperature debuff was very bad, eating simulator, every 10 seconds you eat and you cannot perform a task well, you try to show things for others, they die. i dont think is hard, its just requires practice. but then is too repetititive. what makes it hard, is the new players dragging you down. like i could do something useful, but i need to save them from doing stupid things over and over. most youtubers are the same, they got some clue but they cant calculate or strategize, yes i do think game should be easier on low level, like getting food and surviving 60 years. What makes it hard, no one cooperates with you to do the next step. Pen, saddle, horse cart, fences, extend, etc.
Pre 'Rags to Riches' update this was being done just fine. Now no one bothers getting clothes and those that do by the time they die the clothes are rags. So a bunch of wasted time by the person hunting rabbits and eating food that he did NOT help to grow (food sponging). Then everyone else Dies due to feeding the 1 - 2 people gearing up themselves with clothes. It was all working and playing just fine with a lot of activity and contribution, from many, to build the big towns.
All wiped in a single patch.
Sad.

Being forced to work is not.
One of the worst things a dev can do is artificially make things difficult. Like invisible walls or daily "talk to this guy and in a month get a reward" quests. Challenge should evolve organically from the game, not as an afterthought because you're afraid people get through it too quickly.
Exactly, it isn't even more difficult, it is just more tedious
+1
Well heres 1 youtubers opinion on the way the game is going
This chaps videos is what impulsed me to purchase the game. His view of the "state of the game" is exact same as mine.
New players don't worth playing with
and that's why i kill players like you.

The decay has ruined the game IMO.
I'd like to hear what you have to say about what makes the game 'tedious' rather than 'difficult'.
I also wouldn't mind a bit of elaboration on how decay has ruined the game, in your opinion.
Having to craft 20 chisels to build a few walls. Having to re craft baskets every 30 mins and all the tools you use breaking and or disappearing such as the mallet. Having to do this exact same thing every life, regardless of being born 5 generations in, you still need to do the exact same thing as the eve did.
What part is NOT tedious is my question to you. Rags To Riches ruined any sort of longevity in the game and made it pointless to do anything.
Why make clothes? It takes over half a life to make a full set that will decay and be rags in an hour. Why do anything now? The game was fun when you could build onto things that were started. Now its all gone and ruined by decay.
Just tryed a run of this game. Born in a village with farm. All fire wood except from 3 trees is used. Make it kindling. Load up the kilns. -->noob fires up the kilns-->no more tools. I just let myself starve.
LOL yup. the decay and stuff breaking ruins the game play. Every life you need to make sure to forge 2 ax, 2 shovel, 20 chisel. Then you die of old age hopping to be born back into that family. It is silly at this point to play with people because they just brake the tools you just made to try and do something in your life.
Please no RNG.
The carrot farms collapse now because there is no way to store carrots due to the basket decay. The ground 5 tiles away are cluttered with carrots and everyone say "F this nonsense".
TLDR
The game is not difficult at all, it is tedious. Big difference.
The decay has ruined the game IMO.
Sheers break on one use. Had to craft 6 to make the wool set.
You ring the bell I am coming to kill the village. Just saying. So please ring ring ring that bell.
You mean I should be the one building the sandcastle, so the "others" can have fun stepping all over it? Nah I am the one who steps.
Funniest quote ever from KucheKlizama
But jokes aside lets give Jason some time to fix things.
Most are ok with the concept of decay. We just didnt expect decay to be implemented with no way to repair anything.
Some ideas for repair. A whetstone for tools, make it have a limited number of uses unless used with a grinding wheel. Plaster for walls, kilm and oven. And glue for baskets and other things.
It is hard enough trying to keep a farm and village going to have stuff decay or the need to stop pulling carrots to repair everything. Just makes the game way too tedious and boring to have to go through the exact same thing every single life. At lest when there was a village you could go venture off and come back. Nothing to come back too ever if stuff destroys itself. That's why the game is dead right now. The city's that were there prior to the patch just look like starter farms now. How exactly are you supposed to build and maintain walls when you have to craft 1000000000000 baskets and carts for 1 lifetime?
The only reason I bought this game was the idea of building up a tribe maybe to be born into it again but now if your born into it nothing is left and you have to start all over. It is boring. IMO
The whole reason why I even bought this game was because I liked original concept. There is no time for role playing lineage anymore, which was the main reason most people are even interested in the game. You can't hand down anything to your kids. Your contributions to the village are laughable at best, and annoying at worse. How many times have I had to work around broken wheelbarrows and carts that can't be moved. How many baskets do I have to shuffle around so I can replace them with new?
I bought the game for the same thing as you. Build a colony that will grow and get bigger. Now everything destroys itself.
P.S.
That was me that killed off that village. Don't ring the dinner bell next time it makes me hungry for slaughter. Plus no point building anything anyway just to see it turn into FLOPPY garbage. So i have shift my focus to exterminating everyone that is not of my tribe. You will not eat my berries. You can not have any of my reeds. I need them for "basket crafting simulator" I purchased.
Please NO.
You first need to define what a griefer is because that is totally SUBJECTIVE. What one thinks is griefing someone else may not. Killing a griefer or multiple griefers is that going to class you as a griefer?
Just a bad idea and after your decay update if this is the direction of the game I can't see it being at all entertaining for anyone.
PEOPLE DO NOT WANT TO FORGE 10 SHOVELS IN THEIR LIFETIME IT IS STUPID OR MAKE 100000000000 BASKETS FOR THEIR LIFETIME.
I fell in love with this game right away. OHOL is an astounding microcosm of real life, where your whole existence is short and difficult, but through serious effort you can build a better future for the next generation. I only came across two killers during my time playing, and almost everyone else was teaming up in a cohesive way that you rarely, if ever, see in a videogame. I loved living each life seeing how much of a positive impact I could make on the town I was in, and the surprisingly touching relationships I built with my mom and children were what made it all worth it.
This was all before the update. I understand this is a game that is still in development, and there will be amazing updates, as well as ones that are not so great... But this has almost been completely game breaking. All the towns are gone, all cohesion between mothers and their children are gone, there is no chance of building for the future since it all decays without repair, so what are we playing for....? I was sold this game on the promise of a chance to build up a civilization through days of hard work and countless generations, but the game has been reduced to a never ending Eve cycle.
Decay isn't a bad idea, but this implementation has not been effective. A quick look through the forums will show that there is an overwhelming rejection of this update, so why has it not been rolled back? Why is Jason radio silent? I understand that he does not work on the weekends, but this is literally destroying his creation. All I suggest is that the decay update is rolled back for the time being until it can be tested and implemented in a way that wont completely destroy all current attempts at civilization, like this one has.
I agree it ruins the game play and longevity of playing. I craft an axe so I don't have to craft one every time I log into the game.
As for not rolling it back.... "Developer Pride". Many big game studios do it too. Look at The Division. Listened to the wrong people and millions stopped playing in the first month after the first few updates and it never recovered.
It was FUN adding onto the existing village you may have been a part of creating over many spawns but now you have to make the starter farm every life. BORING. I'll maybe try the game again next update but if decay exists I will not even bother.
Well this was fun...clutter removal was already an issue it's a catastrophe now...Spawned in two tribal town both mostly occupied with broken items.
Same. I will not return to this game if decay exists.
Let me explain. The design idea Jason has is that making a village should be harder and not a stable state, that exile and rebuilding/extending the existing should be unavoidable. Still, many people felt it sad that already built village would just disappear.
First there was the apocalypse, and this was terribly bad. Then there was the scattering of Eves, which had a similar effect without being actually that bad. Now the scattering is reportedly removed, we can finally make a city/resume a city that was abandoned again! Jason simply made it much harder by making a lot of objects unusable in abandoned cities. Decay is a new mechanics, it is broken in many ways but it will be repaired. It is, IMO, the good long-term solution.
Well I will not play the game any longer due to this update. Have fun in a game by yourself with zero progress in your life. When the sheep sheer only get 1 use its pointless. Have to forge 5 set every life to get clothes is retarded and that's if the sheep have fur. You may need to feed them too, witch in that case it will end up taking your whole life just to craft the clothes you wont get to use.
All the game is now is being born to an eve that doesn't bother taking care of kids, or born into a failing farm, or into a deserted ex village that has nothing but rubble and decaying stuff everywhere. It is very boring when trying to accomplishing something in your life means nothing when it breaks and is decayed before you are even dead.
I'm done good luck with your game Jason.
This game went from having fun to..... It blows. Revert decay. It sux.
I really hope to see changes to this update. It just erased all the meaning from the game. Now if i play i just grief a city from valuables (needle XD, tools, cart) and roam in to the wild make clothes and then be like "what now". Live to 60 and die. Feels like there is nothing to achieve, or it doesnt have any meaning cause it will decay before you even die. I dont usually grieff or murder but this update wakened a devil in me.
I'm going "Full Retard". If you see a dude with a bow and arrow....... RUN!!!!!
I'm out too, lmao. This updates garbage. Literally and figuratively.
yup. was fun while it lasted.
kubassa wrote:Silvses wrote:I just played a whole life. Found the biggest town so far in after the update. There were 4 people, 2 fertile women. With the abundance of food, we were always full, didn't spawn any babies for the entire fertile period.
That is because no one is playing but those in your tribe. The new update sucks and not fun to have to make everything multiple times in 1 life.
Yep this game feels like a loop of Eveing now. Get 3 rope, make water carrying tool, set up farm, hope your decendants can make tools.
now it is: get 6 rope 2 water carry things, because it will all break, and the farm will be dead and full of broken garbage with noway to clean up.
