What about also reducing the initial amount of bear caves?
5 bears from 5 caves are still five bears at a time, no matter how many charges there are left.
Hey, even bad evolution can lead to something great. It's something to learn from, it's something to improve on.
Sure you might hit something while shooting blindly, but hey.
Or geese repopulate ponds.
I think a three times as large map would be plenty to grow into. It's far too easy to explore everything on a horse. Confinement is good, just the map is too little, or rather it feels too little when traveling. There should be large streches of wilderness between civilication yet not so big to not discourage travel.
Another thing is. We need tech advancement. That or idle games activities to do in top tier towns. Ideally we would advance up a tree throughout the arc and then it resets. Giving us a different experience each day of play.
I'm still generalyl baffled that there are so many bear caves, it seems grossly unrealistic to have such a high bear population. How does one or none bear caves per a radius sound like?
Bear pelts may become a rare commodity perhaps.
Honestly I think we can conclude that most issues come from ireversabilty rather than anything in particular.
I will just ask for players to issue all things that griefers tampered with.
Like...
people blocking entrances. The solution is easy, make us able to remove the structure. Especially if the strupture can be done with two trips to a rock and shaving off some branches nad a few seconds at a smithy.
~I personally generally suggest to plant a crop around the gate, it's much harder to block off quickly that way.~ But being able to move and relocate the tower would in general be a very good idea.
...
There are still necessary trees that are not hungry-work to get removed. There's much more...much more, just list them all, or list them multiple times for different perspectives.
I personally thing there needs to be bigger punishment for griefing...Griefing has to be risky work and not as easy to execute as it is now. Perhaps we just need to remove the anonymity... Well... that would qiockly delete the charm off, but i think the benefit of group shunning griefers outweighs the charm of anonymity =/ Especially with griefers making the game so unenjoyable. But then this would also have many other far reaching grudges...
Like being able to have a dotting relationship with a player with whom you bickered to no end and then killed in a previous life... Humans are a resentful species indeed.
Tree issue
I noticed planting trees is a lot more sucessful if you plant them somewhere obvious like the middle of the farms or another high traffic area. Plus it'll be easier to retrieve wood that way.
Trees However can grow up and grow old and wither within the lifetime of a human.
If the eve window still existed...
The opposite auto reset contidion could've been in use.
If amount of family diversity is lower than 2...or 3.
This would also be easier to trigger by players...by eradicating bloodlines, while also keeping murder at bay or goodwill between towns if the family amount drops too low to be comfortable if the world is idillic.
Imagine the apocalypse anounced by heavy first by boredom, stagnancy, starvation and finally bloodshed?
Should not be triggable if total population is too low.
I have not! Perhaps I shall, but for now Amon demans more recipes ![]()
Amon is glad you people are having fun.
But amon demands more recipes.
I really like all of these!
Plus.
Useful pork and
~all animals poop~
They look cute and lovely. I'm all in support for more retextures!
I do care! A lot. Some very good moments came from this game. Later Amon shall share his tale.
Off... that picture reminded me of a grim future if the world persisted for long and enough and non-blocking anti bear measures are taken.
Every single floor tire...bear.
For as long s the land stretched.
My darlings...now that would be an interesting thing to happen. And then we start catapulting bear pelts out of the rift.
The eat tomato raw update =P
Good I asked jason about the rock amount. Before the new biome setup the amount of flat rocks was enough to cross the rift 5x.
That woul be enough for two NW and two SW roads and leave the rest up for offshoots.
Apples are great. Apples are amazing.
Apple slices, dried apple rings, apple juice -> apple cider -> apple cider vinegar
Apple pie... apple kompot...more and more and more!
Personally I'm not a fan of apples. I live in an orchard.
People play games as a form of escapism.
They play games to have fun. Those who ruin fun of others are intentionaly going out of their way to cause grief to other players when all they want is to just have a simple playthrough in a game. If it happens on a daily basis life and life and life, /now you're just a big A**** as a griefer no matter how 'nice' you seem on the surface./
Charisma is truly a hard nut to crack, I always keep my friends on a tight leash precisely due the fact that they may or may not act like utter morons towards other people for purely moronic reasons And when they act like the latter, it's game over between us.
That or return the eve spawning condition that was introduced and removed a while ago, with people just cycling from mother to mother again if there are too many fertile women.
However that would ruin the #mapresetcondition
Is it time to block all bear caves or organize a bear hunting party in a town overflowing with arrows and bows to clear all bears once per day?
I mean, us humans, we made the wolves go extinct in palces plenty of times, time to do give the ole human supremacy treatment to animals in ohol...
I got to play today and I have to say it was an overwhelmingly nice life with only one child dying early. (From a raider or griefer.)
We did end up having ever griefers.
But that's all for now.
-squints-
I don't think that's how it works.
What function does a doesel engine do here?
Many suggested pumping water out so one could mine deeper.
Air ventilation is required to go deeper.
Mechanical mining was done with high and low pressure air.
Tools were powered by high pressure, air was ventilated by low.
S-sparks could cause unforseeable damadge so such was no used in mines due dangerous gasses ogniting.
Unless I'm mistaken, but who knows untill i'm told.
My grandfather and great grandfather worked in mines.
When a lot of bright minds work together, isn't it just lovely? I wonder just what will come from this with more time.
I'd have to say the strip variation seems very sensible in it's biome distribution.
But i don't know, the peak is very interesting...but it looks odd enveloped by prarie.
I'm trying to imagine how they'd look like wandering around. The latter two seem good in my opinion with the lest seeming most like how it's been before but with more smart placement.
It's good to have some logic to biome progression, this way one's geographical knowledge comes into play when exploring.
But if there were enough towns with an ideal population distribution, and if they are relatively secure, overpopulation would probably not be that big of an issue.
Multiple families require an active benefit to existing.
Those genociding maniacs are absolutely bonkers though, all they are doing is making sure other/their own town are getting overburdned with incomming babies. Even if it seems they are competing at first.
Yes, there has to be an active benefit to keeping eachother on a good note. Choices are not good if there is no choice to make.
You should be actively weighting the benefits of keeping your neighbor alive or dead before taking such a rash decsision. "lets kill them before they kill us" is not such a mindset, paranoia breeds chaos, we need balance.
If your neighbor benefits you, you'll think really hard about 'is it worth it' and then decide if you want to trade the X benefit for war sword security.
