IP bans for multi-accounts with too many curses

What happens when multiple people of the same household play and one of them is cursed to donkeytown? Plus bans cant happen unless an eula is added, which would contradict the original contract made when the game was purchased. Would likely put jason in legal trouble. "Lifetime server account" etc. As much as an eula would probably help the game it would be hard to introduce it this late in development. Plus jason wouldnt have much legal ground to deny server access if the eula was rejected.

This game needs something that will keep players entertained. No offense, but I don't think that more items will make playerbase grow up.

I mean, new items could be cool, but it's not what this game needs.

What does the game need? As i see it, the addition of sprinklers, plows, pavers, the engine oil pump, trucks, and race cars has added a lot of entertainment to the game. Things to strive for and enable for more tech growth and stability. That enables people to have more room to teach, role play, or experiment with projects that would have been considered wasteful in the past. Adding a higher tier for other elements will only further that stability, making the game more accessible to new players and veterans alike.

If you see a massacre happening, dont stick around to find out what happens, run. Grab some yum food and leave. Maybe make a pseudo eve camp a few hundred tiles away. Maybe live with the white family for a bit and pop over the banding to have kids. Once a fair amount of time has passed and the population has stabilized some return to the town.

Sad to see the red family go that way.

Honestly i thought the curse tally system worked better. Obviously an hour playing in donkeytown isnt nearly enough of a punishment for curses over eight. But donkey town was guaranteed no matter how many times they spawned or when they played. Something like 5 hours in dt for every curse over 8 would be solid.

Whats nonsense is derailing a thread and completely ignoring its subject to instead complain that the author wrote too much. Is it gratifying to complain about this? Does it make you feel better about yourself? Spoons not changing any time soon. But lets beat a dead horse till it starts break dancing, solid plan.

#132 Re: Main Forum » More on Leaderboard And Gene Score » 2020-12-11 02:59:09

Too long? dont read

Why complain

These forums are about expressing ideas and discussing topics. How people conduct themselves surrounding that is not something to be governed or ridiculed. If you dont like how someone formulates their posts or if its too long for you to read no one is making you read them.

If you like eveing memescore is kinda important. But beyond that it really isnt worth anything. Plus the chances of getting eve are next to nothing, especially with the increased stability of fams with the population boost. People seem to be moving fams back to the same towns over and over. Same town different name. So your impact as eve isnt really felt anymore either. On the bright side spawns seem to be moving much slower than they were before. But memescore is back to just being a number which means practically nothing, where it originally was and always should have been.

Its no question oil is the life blood of late game. The introduction of trucks was a huge step forward in tech progression. Getting a step up from horses has proved to make a difference and advance the game as a whole. Its time we saw the same love be given to our ovens and forges.

Something like a dual oven and stove that runs for an hour. Things could be baked in the oven and the stove can be used for things that typically required hot coals.

Forges are pretty self explanatory. All the same functionality with an extended life. Coal would still be essential for steel but it would remove the cost of cycling kilns for uses. A gas powered hammer, roller, bore, and lathe would also be a huge step up.

Obviously these should not be easy to make but once they are built they would propel the town into further stability. It would give a tech hurdle that would make mid to late game towns far more interesting.

Ever thought of just changing your name, or maybe not playing with hetuw? Anonymity goes a long way in how people treat you in game.

#136 Re: Main Forum » How To Properly Grief a Village (THE GUIDE) » 2020-12-10 00:12:45

Malicious behavior might be excusable in single player games or games with npcs but this game only has people playing. The "its a game" excuse doesnt really hold water given you actions have an effect on real people. Hundreds of people play this game daily and griefing is basically a spit in the face of their collective work. If you've ever invested serious time on a project just to have someone come up and ruin it you would understand why people are not a fan of that behavior.

Thanks for highlighting how boring general methods of griefing are.

Really unneccessary to make a rude comment like this. Most of the people who write thesis posts read thesis posts. Far more than two people.

Jason should just add bath salts so we can eat each others faces.

Even if you leave a state you still hold residency. It takes a little bit to get residency in another state and usually require a few factors like living in the state exclusively for a year, or owning property there, and etc. So in terms of voting for your state, that is tied to residency. Getting residency differs per state but its usually pretty straight forward. I doubt it effected voting numbers very much.

Personally i love making sweet outfits. I find it adds a lot of character to the game. The two things that ive seen lacking are more color variants of shoes and hats. Rose variants for hats are relatively difficult and require precise timing and multiple lives to make. Socks are a good form of colored shoes but they decay incredibly quickly. The base clogs really only go with yellow outfits. It would be really nice to be able to paint them different colors and would add a lot of character to footwear. The brown feather really doesnt go with anything beyond fur clothing and it would be nice to be able to dye them different colors. The addition of bows or buckles for hats would be cool as well.

Please consider.

Do you not understand the wall build or how spawn chaining works? Your spawns stay inside while the wall makes the area inaccessible. So you can save a few milliseconds and one extra click while working with diagonal tiles? Its really not hard to left click your adjacent tile then right click the tile below or above. If you play with mouse controls you can get really fast, to the point diagonal controls would save you almost no time.

I know about eve chaining, I've been doing it a while. I don't think it's fair to blame griefers on me or let griefers hedge in the game features. Building a game around griefers seems like avoiding the problem here.

The largest walls ever built in this game use this method. Im not blaming you for griefers. But if diagonal access was added it would make those walls useless and basically make hundreds of hours of collective work worthless with no alternative options for build types.

#147 Re: Main Forum » Diagonal reach pls » 2020-12-04 20:49:09

People will still find and grief your town. Plus if you ever lose your spawn chain it will be nearly impossible to find your way back. There are many people who have spent hundreds of hours building their towns on low pop and this kind of wall structure is our only defense.

#148 Re: Main Forum » Diagonal reach pls » 2020-12-04 20:38:24

No its not. That is a low pop wall. It needs to remain static while people are offline. Your suggestion would kill it and make most walls useless.

Your suggestion would make property/ally gates the only form of defense. Might as well not even have walls at that point. It would disable anyone on low pop from defending their towns.

#150 Re: Main Forum » Diagonal reach pls » 2020-12-04 19:57:57

The cheapest and strongest walls have a collapsible inner wall and an unbreakable outerwall. Diagonal access would disable that build type since the collapsible section could be accessible via diagonal reach from the exterior. And basically disables any form of defensive build beyond property gates.

Would be devastating and practically castrate defensive walls.
