The sad part is she is young enough to simply be reborn to the same family.

Well, for now, I'm tabling the idea of life expectancy bonus/punishment, and trying to focus on the other issues.

So, the disconnect thing is an obvious improvement all-around.  Not sure about the facial expression.  People can also just walk AFK.  I want mothers to keep you alive during that time and not "know" you are disconnected and dump you.  They can try talking to you if they want, to test you.  That should be enough.

Regarding baby-jump-out, yeah, I guess the jump-block could just be for your own mother, if she's still feeding you.  That makes some sense thematically.  You wouldn't WANT to jump out of her arms, but other people are a bit scary, so you can jump.  Maybe I'll play around with having the baby face her when holding, but face out when held by others.  Not sure if it will look okay.  Will test it.

Now, if your mother wants to grief you by holding you, that's her business.  The privilege of motherhood.

These changes will dramatically slow down the process of suiciding from a mother who really wants to keep you and love you.  In a case where babies are rare, it could also give her some time to talk to you and convince you to stay.  Cooing sweet nothings to you, etc.

I'll let attachment theory do the rest for now.

Good video:

Sounds good, Theirs still the possibility of suiciding once they grow hair or sneaking off when you put them down. If somebody wants it to die that bad, It's probably not worth trying to make them stay unless it's an only girl situation. Least suiciding won't be so easy so maybe it'll stop people doing it so frequently.

I think people should have closed eyes when they DC.

#153 Re: Main Forum » Suicide is OP - Should it be nerfed? » 2018-10-21 01:17:34

This game always makes me think of another game called "Whos your daddy".  One player is the parent tasked with stopping the Baby player from committing suicide.

#154 Re: Main Forum » This war! » 2018-10-17 07:51:25

Sometimes I really want there to be a spectator mode, Just watching town drama unfold and cities turn to chaos.

#155 Re: Main Forum » Modern Tech That Will Never Make It In Game » 2018-10-16 07:39:42

So you think a cricket bat and a boomerang is modern tech......

We probably won't get the internet or gaming consoles. Jason doesn't want to add armor so we won't get kevlar or anything like that, Maybe guns but not automatics. Probably no skyscrapers or space shit either. No light bulbs or street lamps, No dams. Idk, It depends on how much detail Jason is willing to add.

#156 Re: Main Forum » Best update » 2018-10-11 12:15:27

The Family Tree browser was one of my favorite things, Was cool to see how your kids did and what generation you were. I liked the wounds and medicine updates, You used to die instantly which was quite frustrating.

The worst was probably stuff like dogs which had no use and didn't really affect anything besides being a nuisance.

#157 Re: Main Forum » Four generations » 2018-10-07 04:27:40

It's like when you live to see your great grandkids in-game, Only ever as babies tho. Imagine if you could live to 100 in ohol.

#158 Re: Main Forum » Partial Solution for Suicide Babies » 2018-10-07 02:47:54

Yep, I hate it when I end up with six of my babies being the same person. I try to stab them when I can but a lot insta DC or run away before I can, Don't understand why a suicide baby would run when I'm trying to stab them. Rarely does a baby ask to be killed, apparently they prefer running from the same person 5 fives times.

I think lineage ban for babies is a good solution, Yeah it would effect abandoned babies but I feel like you wouldn't want intentionally abandoned babies to come back and hold a grudge. I'd rather them suicide once and be done with it and free up the position for different people. Better to die off because you had too few babies then to die because one person was all your babies and suicided everytime.

#159 Re: Main Forum » town bulletin boards » 2018-10-03 08:23:23

I think the paper should decay eventually or we should be able to burn them or something. Towns would just need someone to maintain the boards and take down out of date stuff.

#160 Re: Main Forum » PETITION seperate servers for STEAM users » 2018-10-02 06:18:50

I think we should give steam people a chance, It gives the game more exposure and people which is a good thing imo. Maybe they will be an inital spike in griefing but it'll probably die down once they lose interesting, Plus it's a good test for Donkey Town.

The only one life thing is interesting but surely the game would've died out pretty fast. Imagine the rage when your abandoned as a baby.

Good theory, at least this is only cutting into the deaths by hunger, and not effecting old age:)

I think the percentage of deaths from hunger are more or less the same ... think that in the statistics of September I have collected a session with many plays

Tana, I also believe what you say ... the children have returned to school, they have grown tired of the game or Donkey Town has struck them down!

What surprises me is the great amount of disconnections!

Maybe an increase in baby suicides or lag?

#162 Re: Main Forum » My house too cold to live. Pls help » 2018-09-28 12:26:52

Some bear rugs might help too, Desert buildings are worse since you get cooked inside them.

#163 Re: Main Forum » Give me an emoticon. » 2018-09-27 10:57:53

What if sad females and children cried like a baby when they spoke.

#164 Re: Main Forum » New sheep pen meta » 2018-09-26 07:21:12

I wonder what Jason thinks when he sees that players will use literally anything else rather than the actual fences. I think Oven pens have the benefit of being able to cook excess mutton on the spot.

#165 Re: Main Forum » Question About Tech Tree » 2018-09-22 04:33:24

Because we've only just planted the tech sapling, It'll take another 30 years to grow.

I am Pharo wrote:

What actually happened was Baker was trippin', didn't have a way to keep track of who was having more than one kid, and was just murdering people and talking shit to other players the whole time.
I returned to the camp as Rose Pharo.

I was about to leave to play with my twin, who died from a rattlesnake bite, so I gave a back pack to a baby they seem to be caring for for some reason, then he says I'm an idiot for feeding kids, bruh, what.?  I tell him I didn't feed my babies, which I didn't  (until dude spazzes on me in my own village) I tell him I'm eve and calls me an idiot again for cutting carrots in Savannah, which was actually done my my griefer daughter from my eve life named Nefertiti, who I had to rush a bow to kill to save my hard working kids' work, and future generations' livelihoods.

I've played with Baker before and he usually is helpful and isnt such a fuckhole, idk what got up his pecker today in my camp, but his actions led to its demise.  Congratulations, bruh.

TL;DR Basically Baker acted like an dickhead over reacting to the ginger-bug, with no respect for the Eve, and his experiments with population control failed, knocking the family out at only 10 generations.  The end.

Well, to be fair it was a Bear that ended your line, Not me. The town was actually doing better after you guys died, All of a sudden we had magically had enough food. But your right, I had no way of tracking who was keeping too many babies. Possibly because we all looked the same but it's only a working theory. Accidents happen, I'm sorry.

I was wrong to kill you but don't go blaming me for things that happened roughly an hour after my death. I was a dickhead but I didn't kill your town.

My name was Lisa. My cousin was Amina. You were the last baby girl of our cursed village.

At first, our small village was thriving. We were surrounded by so many resources and duck ponds as far as the eye could see.

But what we didn’t know, was that we were cursed.

You see, only red-headed babies were born into this village. All girls. Never a boy. On and on it went, girl after girl after girl being born. There was no end.

At first it was okay. We managed to plant more berry bushes despite the laziness of the newer generation. They seemed to think that popping out babies meant that they could stand by the fire and eat and do nothing else.

The tipping point was when babies started dying of starvation. There were just too many mouths to feed and too little people willing to work.

Bones were scattered everywhere. Food was running out. Babies kept being born. Red headed babies. Always a girl.

Amina and I told everyone, only keep one child. Your first born. We can’t feed anymore. But no one listened.

The berry bushes were depleted and wilted, our only source of food were eggs but that too was running out.

So Amelia took matters into her own hands, she killed all who disobeyed.

She warned them, of course, but those who went against the 1 child policy had to die. There was no other way.

[It soon became a griefers dream...seriously so many babies popping out left and right and always a red headed girl. Girl after girl after girl. People kept feeding babies and they grew up and had more babies. They were told to stop, but kept feeding abandoned kids too. I think the new genetic modification update needs to be tweaked. We were doomed from the start.]

The town was on the brink of destruction.

Thanks to Amina the town made a great recovery, and people could have and keep babies again.

But the curse continued.

Triplets were born into the village.

As soon as they could speak they only spoke of death. I had to get my hands dirty. I made 2 knives and gave one to Amina. It was the only way. We had to protect the village. I killed my own niece.

In the end the village was deserted as the tale of the ginger-curse spread.

Several younger survivors were able to make it out of the village, but by that point Amina and I were too old to go with them.

We lived out our days together, tending the sheep farm and revitalizing the farm in the hopes that one day the survivors would find their way back.

We were content, just the two of us, when along comes a child abandoned by their mother in the chaos of the cursed exodus.

We later found out that her mother had actually starved to death as she was trying to flee the village.

We gave little Firdaws everything we had. The last thing I heard was Amina telling me, “We did good, cousin”.

And we did.

The future was in the hands of Firdaws, the village had everything needed to start anew. Abundant food sources, wells, duck ponds, and sheep.

But the curse continued, and the Pharo line was ended.

Hey cousin, I was Amina. We just had to pull a Thanos for the town to recover. It's a shame that they died to a bear despite our efforts. I'm sure the town would've lived if it wern't for the bear.

I was playing a triplet run with Turnipseed and some other guy. Did some farming, made compost, had a few kids. I met another set of twins which was interesting. One of my sons was Flannery and the whole town got upset because he took a backpack, They came after him with bows and knives.

All I saw was everyone yelling Thief! and chasing him. It didn't take long for him to get murdered and cursed by everyone. I don't know if it was enough to send him to donkey town but if it was then I'm sorry. He was just a victim of mob rule.

I'm still curious about donkey town, Maybe I'll try and note curse myself just to see. Should it only last for one hour right?

Man, We got enough criminals down here. Still, I wonder what a town of full of cursed would be like. Could a higher version of the original curse. People still grief while cursed, they got nothing to lose since they cant be cursed anymore at that point.
