The simplest thing would be to have knives break after three uses on human players and remain stuck in the body until death and the loss of the arrow when it hits a human player.
I’m sorry my friend killed you, mom. You found the weapons and you knew too much. I was told to kill you but I just couldn’t bring myself to do it. You never did me wrong.
You got your friend to kill your still fertile eve mother who did nothing wrong but stumble across a couple of knives. Just let that sink in...
I agree, for me the only fun i get out of these killings is the detective work, trying to figure out who it is and what they are trying to accomplish.
What isn't fun is public murder sprees. If you are going to kill, try be sneaky about it and let some of the town try fight back. That has got to be more fun than murdering the entire town and being left with a basket of pies and no one to talk to. Leave some people so they can remember your name and tell stories of your horrible deeds. No one likes a bad sport.
I just respawned to that city to a new family Yhal - http://lineage.onehouronelife.com/serve … &id=305211
As soon as i was born my brother was going on a rampage killing about ten villagers. My mother Eve Yhal asked me to Jehad like my brother. (Whats wrong with these people...)
I said no and was determined to kill off this evil new family. I saw my sons from my old life and saw that my old family had indeed died out. I died young it was a pretty terrible life.
I was born as an Eve into a huge town. The town already had two families so my family made three.
Now few people might know that we can avoid the three hour lineage ban by re spawning to another of the three families.
This incentives keeping the all the families growing strong. I told all my children this fact.
I was the Eve of the Fawn family- I told all my children to make themselves useful and impress the other families.
Not long after my first child I saw Eve Lake the second newest Eve get shot. I thought the family had died out.
The Pond family was numerous and i had to think they were the founders.
I notice one member of the pond family started a patrol of the city with arrow drawn.
I also notice that the Lake family had not died out, There was a boy and childbearing girl. Wonderful.
Suddenly i notice people dying. The Lake boy had starting seeking revenge. He killed a young girl a said she was his mothers murderer.
Next i see my son kill the town guard. I yell at him, while the towns folk shrug it off. (apparently the town guard put people on edge.)
I wonder out into the wilds just away from base when i accidentally pick up a basket with two knives.
The Lake boy runs down to be arrow drawn i quickly throw the basket and run away.
I return a little later to collect those knives when I see the Lake boy again arrow drawn.
I ask to speak to him, Maybe figure out if his murder spree has come to an end, When he dies...
Starvation. oh well. My son who killed the towns guard comes up and takes his bow and arrow.
I was about to talk to my son when another shot rings out. This time its me.
A older man from the pond family shot me and runs over to where i an bleeding out.
"Wasn't personal." was his response. I told my son to shoot him. He just stares on.
I cry out the Pond mans name, but it is all futile.
For the sake of the town stop killing! we can get benefits - Extra town re spawns/extra lives at each town.

The biggest problem I see is that in the current state of the game fully enclosed buildings are awful. Greifers can easily block entry ways with any number of indestructible buildings (With Stone walls, roses.)
Locks are the next issue, My feeling is that locks should only be used on lock boxes for weapons.
Too often do i see people locking all the best items in a room and then lose the key.
Making a new key requires making more locked objects.
As i experienced you can make lots of keys and not find the right one, wasting iron and locking useless boxes along the way.
There are ten Keys and picking the right one is often harder then you think.
My take on the best strategy is to make open buildings by only making corner nooks for people to work. (Two stone walls at a right angle.)
I just want to grind them up to make bone meal speeding up crop growth.
I agree, we don't want to be risking those females getting iron.
On the topic of long distance communication, I've been using markings to help me not to lose track of good locations.
My marking consists of a skewer on the ground and a sharpened stone on one of the cardinal directions.
Another good idea is to place a basket of food, skewer, sharpened stone to mark the home direction.
hmm we could just make the easy skewer letters as symbols for the direction marker.
I was born to a somewhat well developed village and discovered a few things about the new patch. we tried to get the Berry field up and running again. They needed dirt to stop dying then water then stakes and still it asked for more water. We put over eleven water on one bush and still nothing. I tried to read the crafting notes to no avail. Then i found a potato plant and thought well this might be the new good crop. I planted it then it required 1/4 dirt from a bowl. i did this and then another villager tilled the left over 3/4 dirt. Makes me think you could double your dirt somehow. The potato plants grew and produced five or six potatoes which needed a shovel to dig up. These potatoes couldn't be eaten on their own they needed to be cooked in a hot adobe oven. They gave me six square hunger refill each. I then planted some corn hoping it was still a good choice but i died before they grew.
I was Gabriel Gbur I was born into the town in a berry field. I was the first generation Gbur in Town JJJ.
My mother was just had given me my name when a woman stabbed her and ran away.
I ran down to the fire where a Lovely young lady Stacy had just come of age and decided to look after me.
I had to get to the bottom of who killed my mother. I remembered from my last life i man named Ben who i had given my Sheppard role.
He was a good guy and had a knife so i asked him for help.
A lot of detective work had me investigate a Sheppard named Donnell she looked like the murderer only older and she had the only other knife in circulation.
I approached her in her sheep pen and asked her flat out. She said she kills only griefers (was mom a griefer?)
She pulls out a file from her backpack, maybe reaching for her knife. I get out of there before anything bad happens.
It's at this time Ben runs up to me and tells me of a second killer on the loose. A man Kitt had tried to stab him for a cart.
I decided to sneak up on him and kill him before he actually kills someone.
I could have done it, but my nerves got the better of me, he seemed like he was working hard.
I go back to Ben to tell him of developments when Kitt sneaks up behind and tries to stab me. I escape while he stabs at the air.
Ben sends out the alert. every villager and his horse are looking for Kitt. Seeing Donnell on her horse actively looking for Kitt, Helps me get over the anger i had for my mothers death.
I watched Bens death, and my children's birth. I taught them of the terrible things we went through in our generation. Ben was truly the Hero we needed. We made quite the detective team.
I was your first child, I would have helped more if not for that damn snake.
Can you explain to me the interest of the buildings? And why a bakery in a building?
Sorry for the newbie question
Apart from giving the town a more established feeling. Having an area that is just for an individual profession helps because you can control the clutter, organise the work area without it getting messed up. It also could be more efficient if next to water and the crops and meat needed for the product. Another good building is a storage building to keep weapons one of each seed and pies locked away for use when times get dire.
If baby suicide is a problem for you, you might be doing something wrong.
One problem could be you are an eve still wondering the wilds, if a child grows before you find a good spot the child just slows you down and chops at the food. Find your location before children.
Another problem i see is Eves not giving surnames or stupid surnames. You are setting the stage for a lineage, do it right.
Talk to your children let them know what you are thinking.
Ask them how skilled they are from one to ten. It's really useful to know.
Overall you should make it as inviting as possible. Tour them around show them the good locations and introduce them to their siblings. Have a fire ready or put them on the desert. Furnace in place, have food nearby and maybe a basket with sharp stone for them to take.
Good to know! I never thought of that! Quick side question since you bring up stone walls, are there any ways to move rocks faster than by hand? I've tried putting them in a horse cart but that seems to not work. It's such slow work building those walls!
I don't think there is a faster way unfortunately. I've had success by having a younger apprentice. You do the leg work feeding them stones, while they chisel and construct. My son and I got a lot of work done, we built a stone temple and got a large number of floor boards down. All within around thirty years in game time.
Being able to carry one large stone a little faster on the back of a cart would be a great addition.
Something that happened recently was I was born to a town which had a big bakery but it had been griefed by placing a stone wall on the inside of the door.
Until stone walls become destructible. I would advise against building any fully enclosed buildings out of stone or wood.
We can get a similar, more cost effective and overall nicer towns if we use stone walls as corners around the village centre (Two stone walls at the right angle).
Each corner can have the equipment suited to each profession inside.
The griefing of this type of building would be difficult as it would involved finishing the stone walls and enclosing the entire town,
This would take over a lifetime and would not go unnoticed.
Yeah it was a lot of fun and the Kingdom ran kinda smoothly. I thought the pie thief could have been you but then i noticed he was not wearing the boots i gave you.
This is my tale. I was born to a Queen who cared little for her children. Fortunately I was well fed, my brother on the other hand was the neglected child. Hence when time came to pass down the crown i was shocked to see my brother wearing the crown. I told the town that I was the first born and rightful heir. I had to wait little time to find my brother starving struggling to feed himself so i followed him until the crown was mine.
Upon my ascendance to the throne the villagers greeted me with an urgent issue, It would seem that a young girl Ashley was picking carrots from the seed row. Another villager asked if i could kill her, when she said "i don't care" or something to that effect I sunk in the knife.
A male villager saw the commotion and tried to sneak up behind me with a knife in an assassination plot. It was at this point i retreated to my castle which was just above the farm. I had pies and a full armoury at my disposal. I took a bow and observed what the villagers were talking about. The man was saying i was a tyrant whilst other villagers tried to reason with him. I came down from my castle and shot him in the chest putting down the rebellion quickly.
A few more years pass and the Kingdom was running smoothly, people were asking me to assign them jobs and i was living large with best outfit money can buy. When i spy a man wandering into town with a horse, "A horse fit for a King, Allow me to stable him for you." the man said. He put the horse next to my castle and asked nothing in return. I couldn't have that so i handed him a pair of fine snakeskin boots.
Not long after i was thinking of who my heir should be and had decided on the man who retrieved the horse for me. When i notice the castle door unlocked, someone was inside. i waited outside and that's when i saw them. A pie thief caught red handed. "Put that back! Stealing is a crime" i said. "It's only a pie." was his only response. "It's the Kings pie!" my hunger was running low and i looked around, there is no food in sight. Except for that hot pie he is holding. I fire my arrow and it hits its target, as he lay dying he yells "I trusted you." That hit me a little but such is the life of the tyrant prince. I died from starvation with no named heir.
