The idea is that people in properties should be trading with everyone else rather than just stealing. We will either learn to trade or destroy all fences and go back to communism.

I did not know about shooting through fences.
And yes, I know Jason thinks that without griefers, conflicts, wars and the end of the world, it will not be interesting enough.
It's a bit senseless for me. In real life, do we think that withoutmurderers, bandits and wars our life will be incomplete and boring?

Let's be honest, everyone who builds a homestead must steal common resources. Nobody will go to collect iron, build own kiln and so on.

I do not think that trade is successful. Homesteads are so small that they can not produce anything in larger quantities. Instead, cities look terrible. The city of the Hyon family looked like a huge cemetery on which someone built tiny pens for people (everyone threw away the bones of the dead behind the gate). The common part of the cities is littered and neglected.

every person picking up a nature object for the first time becomes its owner
every person making a tool becomes its owner
it means the game knows who is crafting an object & as long that person is not declining the ownership, it stays until death

every such property can be generally declined, making it available to everybody else
with the death of the owner his property becomes available to everybody else
but the owner can hand down an object to someone else (as its happening already with knives, backpacks, clothing)
fenced property would compliment that by giving access to the things only to handful of people

if we don't have that in game, theft will continue & discourage players to craft things
theft is always demoralising

Please, not this one. This is firstly impractical - because the creator of the obbject would have to constantly repeat the authorization for subsequent family members.

Secondly, it will completely ruin the idea of OHOL as a game based on cooperation between players.

Well, I died of old age before the revolution, but I remember talking with you at the closed gate. This city was a mistake. I see that after my death, killing began.

Long story short, I paid off the rest town with ropes and mangoes in exchange for pies and some iron for tools. Most where gratful for the baskets of rope we were churning out.

But one guy started camping our gate and ran in as soon as I opened it. So I stabbed him for trespassing, A crowd gathered outside and old ladies ran up with knives. But they couldn't get past my fence to kill me, meaning I could explain and they had to listen. Another dude broke our single shakey fence so I stabbed him as well.

So was I correct for defending my land?

No, you were wrong, the land does not belong to anyone. You are a usurper.

Partially serious answer.

Ha, ha, it's so stupid, that we really have to make a revolution.

Unfortunately, I have the same feelings. Cities will die even earlier than they used to be. Who needs private property in a game where the hour is spent and never goes back to the same place? It does not make sense and only causes conflicts.

I will talk about my experiences of how private property works in the game.
I was in the city of the Pie family.
In short - one big chaos.
A lot of tiny fenced areas.
The "owners" steal the common tools and everything that falls into their hands.
One of these "capitalists" stole the whole cart full of baskets with rabbits. During my lifetime they have not been used (it is possible that a happy owner died because I have never met him). Because players focus on building "their" homes, few players do something for the city.
As a result, the city hardly works - many people only take food, tools and bring nothing for the whole community.
Sigh.
Of course, I know that complaining will not do anything here, and I read that Jason wants to make us happy by the war.
It will probably be even worse.
The game was to be based on cooperation and parenting, but since the introduction of the dark Nosay, it seems to me that Jason does not know what he wants.

With the old method, where you typed an email, anyone else could type your email too.

Thank you for the quick reply.

I understand that this is some side effect of Jason's actions. I know, of course, that I can find a character by name and surname. I preferred, however, to look through my last incarnations using an email. Now, after entering the email, you can not find your family trees from the forum or the game screen. Does anyone know anything about this?

Aaaa !!!! Pein, it was you again? I was a guy who stabbed you. Lol. Who in your opinion did not work? I made clothes for half the camp.  I'm back with a cart full of sealskins and here a woman kills someone. I am listening to the explanation and I am not killing this person, and she is murdering someone after a minute. And what do you think, should I stand idle and count how many more people you will kill?
Coming back to the topic - the perfect mom is just nice. I do not have any great requirements. Recently, I saw how some "mom" called her baby Little Shit. Charming, right? The kid committed suicide and I am not surprised at all.

I was your great-grandmother Jenny.
http://lineage.onehouronelife.com/serve … id=3546421
When I was a child, there were a lot of people in the village. But they all died for various reasons.
I had two of my youngest children just before I was forty. The three of us were the only inhabitants of the village.
And only girl was your grandmother Nadia. This name also means hope.
So it was empty because all residents were children of one mother.
I like the random aspect of this game. Will there be at least one girl in every generation? And will this girl survive? A lot depends on happiness.
You can only hope and name Hope your child.

We know that because we don't find dead settlements completely clear of food.

Though yes, girls will die more often. And hopefully as a consequence people will finally learn there is a heat mechanic in the game.

I write about cities and not about single experienced players. And yes, when I am there the town not dying, because I do what is most needed. Cities live thanks to experienced players who want to work for the benefit of others.
But how many have you seen new players who survive for a long time without berries? I recently had a Chinese mom. I brought her a pie and said, "Eat mom." She answers: "No, thank you" (I think she did not understand). I fed her and put the pie next to her. Do you think she ate them? No, she still ate the berries ...

Well, I heard this update is not done yet, so maybe it takes a nice turn in the end. Let's see.

Anyways, it seems that the meta started it all. People got bored of the "warmth, swamp, green biome" combo and got nothing out of buildings or clothes. People wanted clothes to be more important/useful as they were fed up with staring at old people's genitals (or something) and being cooked up in desert towns. People wanted a buff for buildings. So of course the quick answer is...
...make everything so hostile you need to make clothes and build buildings.
I think instead of that it should've been...
...add things to the game which make clothes SUPER GOOD (like no snake bites if clothed! Less fatal injuries if clothed!) and houses SUPER GOOD (like a bonus when inside a house so we can converse more and have parties indoors! Items don't decay indoors!).

This kind of "make stuff really harsh to make other things useful" is, to me, a bad approach. But I'm not the designer of the game so I'll just sit back and hope for the best.

As ancient wisdom says: "When the gods want to punish someone, they fulfill his wishes."
Yeah.  We all expected new plants from which to make clothes .
I still do not see any use for buildings where doors must be closed. I rather see a baker yelling at everyone to close the door and finally murder the twentieth person who did not close the door. Forge needs too much space, and besides? We can make a nursery and nothing more in the building.

Early game is supposed to be very difficult, but as villages advance it gets easier, and now more than before advanced villages will be even easier, with the clothes and heat changes you will eat a lot less in advanced villages with full clothes, buildings, floors etc

It will not be easier. Even before, entire cities sometimes died out because no one cared for berries, did not make compost, etc. Now you need to worry about clothes and generally you need a much larger amount of food. This means - if there is no baker - the city dies. If nobody cares about the sheep - the city dies ... The simulator of dying of hunger. And it very slows down the building of anything - now you need 10 generations to achieve what was once possible to get in the second-third generation.

#164 Re: Main Forum » [Corrected] - Temperature Update - Potentially not so bad. » 2019-02-16 13:52:56

I played twice - once I was a boy in an advanced camp (10 generation), scarcely we just started to do more advanced tools. I died due to a loss of connection, but we were still on the verge of hunger.
The second time I was a daughter Eve - we did not even make a bowl - claywas far away and I managed to give birth to my daughter before we finished the adobe kiln. I returned to the camp with my daughter and I died because there was nothing to eat nearby.
Conclusion - the game has become a game for real hardcore players. Because I play for pleasure, I do not want to continue playing.
Do not write, please "I've lived without a problem until I'm 60". Of course it is possible, but the game has become unpleasant. At least for me. A bit as if someone forced players to play at the highest level of difficulty - there are people who love such challenges but not everyone likes it.

Thanks a billion!

The ancient wall can be broken with a pickaxe. This destroys the pickaxe. Unfortunately, griefers are the scourge of this game. Most of them are experienced players. It is sad but you learn to trust no one and suspect everyone.

#167 Re: Main Forum » Do full domestic gooseberries or dead gooseberries ever despawn? » 2019-01-27 12:03:32

Recently, I was rebuilding a reset camp on an empty server. And it was surprising what was left of the old camp.
These were: some gooseberry bushes, two corn plants and one row bean, a partially eaten pie, an incomplete stew pot, a few stacks of wood, a few stacks of plates, some tools, a pile of paper and the only thing built-water cistern.
I wondered why exactly it was left?
And it seems to me that the system resets things that are complete and leaves those partly worn eg shrubs on which gooseberry missing, partly eaten dishes.
The tools probably were also worn (most of them disintegrated after a few uses).
Everything that is complete and unused is reset (eg pumpkins and a bow).
So gooseberry bushes could have disappeared because they were full.
Strange but I think I'm right.

If you spawn as a child in between Eve spawns, your last old-age-Eve-death location will still be remembered and you will still spawn there again as an Eve the next time you spawn as an Eve on that server. But if you ever spawn as an Eve and die before 60 years of age, you will lose your saved location (if any), and your next Eve spawn will be in the next spot on the Eve spawn spiral, not where you had died at any previous time.

I wrote this imprecisely. Being a child of the other Eve is not dangerous. However, if you die, you will probably be reborn as Eve in the second camp. And so every time - you have less than 50% chance to return to your camp (you can be a child Eve, Eve in the second camp, or Eve in your camp). I used to be respawned four times in the second Eve camp and finally committed suicide because how many hours can I lose? As Eve, you must live up to 60 years of age. It's easier to build a new camp ...

#170 Re: Main Forum » Server 11 Town Found » 2019-01-22 21:46:18

You must make a home marker. And die as Eve at the age of 60. On an empty server, you will definitely be reborn in the same place.
Attention! Check if someone else is playing at this time.
http://onehouronelife.com/reflector/ser … ion=report
If you are born as the child of the second Eve on the server - leave the game - there is a good chance that in the next life you will be reborn as Eve in the second camp, and you will lose your camp.

#171 Re: Main Forum » Server 11 Town Found » 2019-01-20 18:01:33

Aaaah!  smile You found my town. I built them once when the game started on Steam. Then I got bored with lonely playing. I did not look into my city for a long time. As long as the server has been restarted. Recently I came back out of curiosity. It turned out that some things survived the restart. So I rebuilt my camp (it's a really great place, everything is nearby). From what I know, if nobody is in the area for a week, the place is restarted. Thanks to two players the restart will not be so fast. Have fun, I do not mind guests. Experiment, build, create. Good luck!

#172 Re: Main Forum » New Players Bad for Villages? » 2019-01-17 18:03:09

Reasons why you should not take care of veterans:
1. They always survive often at the expense of others
2. They do not waste food but do not produce it (most of them do not do anything useful)
3. They will kill everyone who plays in a different way  (probably they are the majority of griefers)
4. They are often bad mothers - they throw children to other players or let them die.
5. They are constantly working on projects that are almost impossible to finish (it is more likely that the city will die out)
6. By this they waste only resources.
7. Some are really nervous - they introduce a bad atmosphere (they yell at other players, they want to rule everyone).
This is obviously ironic.
I do not mind new players or old players.
If they are nice to others.
I am disturbed by  rude players and those who try to tyrannize others(and of course those who destroy the game others).
Live and let others live.
And this is just a game, the game should be fun.

I'd have to agree with some points here. Every tech update goes further and further out, but a lot of recent updates have made it much harder to get to those points. Now with the Eve changes even a determined player willing to commit a few hours in a row can't experience any continuity at all. Personally I don't understand fully the war against towns. Why spend the time designing and implementing cars if 80% of your players never get to see them? I get that it should be challenging to succeed, and that going from an Eve to a civ should be no small feat. But this never ending running around struggling to stay afloat also gets boring.

I agree.
How many times can you start from the beginning?
Currently, there are no chances to build an advanced civilization.

If this game is to be RPG, please add some white magic too.
This is what I associate, the classic - the world is threatened with destruction, only the chosen one can prevent it.
However, this game was supposed to be something else?
