New WBSteve video. I suspect you're planning on doing something for that

#154 Re: Main Forum » Can we just ban people from forum and discord who brag about griefing? » 2019-04-24 14:49:42

Griefers aren't doing anything against the rules, but as far as I've seen, some have drawn moderators' attention when they start baiting in the past.
Just leave griefers alone to their own devices

#155 Re: Main Forum » About that annoying thing called 'areaban'... » 2019-04-24 14:38:51

It would be targetting long time players as well as griefers, unless lifetime decay is a thing

I still dream of a town filled with veteran chefs... the most delicious yum town to exist

#157 Re: Main Forum » Quick VOG survey on Bigserver2 » 2019-04-23 22:33:47

Now that I think about it, someone will place plots around the kerosene pumps. That makes it even more of a disadvantage if the drill is far away from town, and players can easily exploit its neglect to trap it for generations.

Then again, this neglect becomes an advantage, should this happen. It means it most likely wont be kept upright by some players.
Something to think about

I mean it was probably autocorrect or something. I wouldn't bring in grammar to an argument, it seems like a cheap way of getting back at someone

#159 Re: Main Forum » Quick VOG survey on Bigserver2 » 2019-04-23 21:17:08

Lack of kerosene pumps most likely due to tarry spots being too far for players to bother

I've thought of a few things that'll let you thrive in your own little plot without the townsfolk slowly growing envious

-Food
The best option I see here is milk. Have your own bucket (Perhaps two if you need a deep well), a cow and some corn in your plot so you can top up if you need a drink. It's renewable and filling. Another is sheep, which you could also use for composting. Having an oven though could draw attention, since you're using kindling here instead of the public kitchen

-Farming
For compost, use the town's shared berry/carrot plot to get your mash, and take it to your territory where you can keep it close for private farming. If you have your own sheep, just.
Also, USE STONE HOES! They're super easy to make with the abundance of round stones in the wild, with the other two items needed being renewable.
Make sure your plot also has water.

-Trade/Gifts
Have a box outside your house where you can leave stuff should the public ask for it. Maintain trust with your village, you can't live without society

Really I made this since steel tools are a big no-no for keeping inside plots. I remembered stone hoes are a thing, and that led to a few other ideas, so I made this post

I mean it is kind of funny that the pumps run so much, but never explode.  Could involve a repair process then, which sounds more interesting than the well just going dry.

Maintenance sounds like a much better motive for pushing through the tech tree than having a chance for it to go dry.
An unfair surprise would be bad game design. Having a pump slowly deteriorate, demanding more resources, makes it clear to the player that they have a deadline

Now I realise Jason already said this further up, glad he got to see it

#164 Re: Main Forum » Property and Inherritance Tear Apart Towns » 2019-04-23 19:35:46

'Beheading the queen unlocks the castle'
This is exactly the kind of stuff Jason wanted to happen. Great story content! Just be happy that your family had a flourishing plot to begin with!

#165 Re: Main Forum » Idea discussion:Rivers and Mountains but not the way you think » 2019-04-23 19:14:47

+1 for rivers and slowly built bridges, everything else I'm sort of meh about. Instead of a timer before an area becomes a killzone, just let the natural decline of resources push them out

NooOOoO
Murder prevents griefers more than it attracts them! Kick em out of town for 3 hours!

Toxic and his mates have a rather proficient method: Hiding behind a tree and shooting from there. They once lured me to a basket full of pies and shot me there. However, I couldnt see who it was. How to solve this I do not know

Hovering your cursor over trees can still reveal names if they're there. It's just they aren't highlighted as items. Here though, you have a short time to actually find which tree they're behind, which can be the issue

#170 Re: Main Forum » Sexual Assault is never funny. » 2019-04-22 19:20:12

Since it's a game, I don't think it should be taken that seriously since it's not physically happening to the user on the other end (There are exceptions with it, such as having experienced it IRL can trigger them). Obviously this shit is awful in real life, I'm in no way supporting it. The players are doing this since they find dark humour funny, or they're doing it for a meme, although if someone doesn't like it, then tell them to stop. If they continue, it's completely fine to kill/curse them. Heck, it's fine even without telling them if you find it wrong.

Edit:
I don't see how bouncing on a child's character (When the playermodel is adult) makes them a pedo though, seems odd to me to assume that, since the offender wouldn't even know if a child is playing

How would you fix it if you could?

The mechanic itself seems to be ok, the problem is with the people and how they use it/misuse it.

A good way to lose lifetime total curses would be within every 8/10 hours of playtime, as long as you don't get cursed, you can lose a lifetime curse point. The same rule of 'living for more than 10 minutes' would apply so someone couldn't just leave autoclicker on to drain curses.
