This is very good. Thank you for teaching smile

Carpets must match the curtains! Ginger pubes for Gingers! Blond pubes for Blonds!

P.S. Granny Ginger looses her boob freckles. Please bring them back. Thank you smile

#228 Re: Main Forum » Anyone else find the game unplayable without zoom mod? » 2018-09-09 01:58:40

The current default view is 7hx11w (three tiles above and below you and five tiles to either side).
If you consider each tile one meter square = about 3.3 feet, then you can only see 10 feet away.

The 1440p zoom mod is x2 and brings this up to 20 feet which makes sense as proper 20/20 vision.

Therefore 1440p should be the new default visual distance.
Either that or we all need to craft some glasses!

Fun fact: Ginger is half-albinism, and therefore any race can have it.
Melanin comes in two forms Eumelanin (brown) and Pheomelanin (red).
If you lack the ability to make Eumelanin then you're a Ginger!

something like irrigation system, or even deeper water sources, because as it is now, even with the last update on water that increased greatly the amount of uses (i mean remember when ponds only had 5 uses, how did we ever survived with that big_smile ) as long as a city perdures a little bit, all deep wells are very quick dry

Ya, I could see pipes from dry deep wells working too. We used to be able to dig wells anywhere, but I think Jason didn't like the walls of wells that were everywhere. But you're right the current deep wells are still too shallow, and it's one of the major reasons towns die out. It's also part of the really annoying running forever as an Eve issues, because you need to find a space with LOTS of ponds before starting your camp.

Sharp Stone + Flint = Flint Chips

Those flint chips are in a pile of five, and if you remove one you can put it back on the pile,
BUT if you take a chip and put it down somewhere else you cannot rebuild the pile in the new spot.

This is a problem because if you need to clear flint from a spot you have to clutter up five other spots to do it.

So the thing that frustrates most about suiciding babies is that they doom a lineage, right?
Remember guys, all towns are doomed to die off anyways UNLESS!!! the Eve of the family tree died at 60 to Old Age. She can spawn back and revive the place if she died with her home marker set and at 60 years.

How about changing it so ANYONE who makes it to 60 with a home marker, spawns back at that home marker?

But what if baby does not like it? Do they do abort?

You can't stop people from ESC% quitting, so yes baby can miscarry if they want... but that would also allow tracking of actual baby suicides.

The 1080p (2x) zoom mod brings this up to 20 feet which makes sense as 20/20 vision and should be the new default resolution.

Personally I prefer the 1440p (3x) version, because the game is still clear on a crummy old 1366x768 laptop monitor,
and people can see farther than 20 feet even if it isn't perfect.

Actually, 1080p is x1.5, 1440p is x2 and 2160p (4k) is x3.

Ah, well that explains why 1440p is so good.

20/20 vision for everyone! cool

The default view is 7hx11w (three tiles above and below you and five tiles to either side).

No wonder newer players are berry sponges - they can't see anything else!
In default view your chances of stepping on a snake or wandering into a boar you didn't see coming is really high.
So they stay near the berries and don't venture very far. It is terribly myopic.

If you consider each tile one meter square = about 3.3 feet, then you can only see 10 feet away.

Not being able to see properly is ruining the experience for new players and old players who have to live with them.
I don't understand why the resolution hasn't been upgraded yet given all the other upgrades the game has seen.

Homework much?

Sounds like Black Mirror S03E01

#243 Re: Main Forum » Reichels » 2018-09-05 16:37:02

Yes to both. The berry patch is often the central park of the town. From there I make offshoots to iron mines and areas with large numbers of ponds (later to become wells).

#245 Re: Main Forum » N/A » 2018-09-05 12:24:48

Is it the same? The loading background is on white and much larger and a looser pattern.
This is on a specific gold background, looks like pubic hair, and has a status (untouched -> touched).

#248 Re: Main Forum » PSA: Stop Gearing Babies » 2018-09-04 21:18:42

I make backpacks and sealskin coats all the time. I hand them out to people as I please. I made them.
I have NEVER had any reason to murder anyone. Most idiots starve and don't need help dying.
Those of any skill either refresh what needs refreshing, or forage, or break off and start a new town.
Killing people over clothing is totally needless.

#249 Re: Main Forum » What is the average age of players ? » 2018-09-04 16:54:43

Kids are back to school, the poll divides people under 20 into three parts, and the poll lets you vote as many times as you want... so it's going to be pretty inaccurate.

#250 Re: Main Forum » What is the average age of players ? » 2018-09-04 15:48:53

The age divisions are very skewed.

Traditionally they should be:
0-17
18-34
35-64
65+
