Already suggested thousand times, but a thousand times I say YES TO THIS.
And for your post respawning in village as eve. We used to have that but it was in living village it has been fixed, you still can respawn nearby dead villages but you have to be lucky. It could indeed be great to begin in ruins directly but it would makes people suicide until they are in ruins. I dont think it will be possible because Jason doesn't want people to force where they spawn.

the gameplay is pretty uneven as of now
some stuff is very detailed while other areas are non existent though neededin general i still would love it to be able to have the basics of life without an elaborate tech tree & that means the next generation or the third first able to use things like a knife or a shovel

But you might miss understood, you are still be able to use cart. my thing goes on the back, you don't drag it.
We all like to live in town and having fun with others. Nomadic life can seems hard, tedious and dangerous but you should give it a shoot once, it is a great experience to have. This kind of gameplay lasts 30-45 minutes, if you are an eve you already have way less time to act. There is two lifestyles, the safe one and the zerg one.
CHILL ONE
First step
- Make sharpstone, your best friend.
- Make basket, 2 snares, hachet, bow drill, skewer.
- Hunt at least 5 rabbits.
- Cook rabbits and make backpack, only one skewer is enough to roast rabbits.
- Keep snares, bone needle, sharpstone to cut burdock and wild carrots, dont mind cutting everything you wont come back. Basket is for food.
- You are ready to go.
Minimal cost is already 18 (14 for one snare) milkweeds, 4 straight branches, one curved branche, 1 kindling. 2 sharpstone and one flintstone. Dont forget to use basket to keep ropes. One full basket can have 3 ropes (12 milkweeds). Dont make reed skirt at first, it can be waist of thread. Keep it for tools or clothes.
Second step
Try to find place with enough food, raise children and make them clothes. Take everything you can eat, when there is no more food, go sew somewhere else. and repeat.
If you can raise you child, take your time, dont rush randomly, it is better to have a kid with a basket and you too than holding a kid
When you are old enough, tell them the strategy and give stuff.
HOT ONE
It was an oldder gameplay style for nomads, it was more about spreading children than surviving correctly. You have to run a lot, eat a lot, sometimes let boys die when a girl spawns onto you inna hostile area. Reed skirt is viable because you wont have the time to make clothes.
Two tongs + rope ? Decay is 3-4 hours, better than backpack decay time. Can transport three butt logs or fire wood ? What do you think before posting it on reddit.

Yeah I agree too, we haven't reach 100 players on servers since few days now... new players can't get in, they play once and never replay. Did they really play one hour one life like they were supposed to be or they were just lost, I think they were lost more than enjoying being take care of during one hour and doing nothing. We are losing enthusiasm

If you want to be a good nomad, make yourself a backpack, fill it with two snares, one neddle and a sharp stone.

tell kids to use flints to cut reed or wheet, that really helps, other than that, just have somebody to bring back some sharp stones and skewers, truth is, kids dont even know what to do, and if you got only one sharp stone to mash food into bowl and one round to make flour, then already too bad. at least sharp stone can make like 23 recipes possible, so as a starter pack each kid should receive a sharp stone and a basket

It does almost all the things that either sharp rocks or flints can do..
That is the thing : there are crafts that knife could easily remplace. Does It never bother you that you have to use sharp stone when you could simply use knife ? Because I do. Ik sharp stone is really usefull and you can do many thing but we wont stick to the stone age during all the tech tree. All I'm asking are few natural crafts such as :
- Can cut wildcarrots and burdock, like sharp stone
- Can turn branche into shaft, like the sharp stone
- Can turn rope back into thread if needed.
Smart, but tricky. Maybe you could make a knife that can't kill, but does everything else.

When settlement goes and becomes a village or city, big hard rocks are gone, sharp stone less and less present and people have more and more knife, I wonder if we could extend the use of the knife. Sometimes I need the sharp stone for some things that could be remplaced by knife such as cutting wild plants or cutting wood shafts into straight shaft. So I think that could be great thing for it.
I dunno, I have been killed like 3-4 times in two months, maybe it is your connection because I never stab somebody from tiles away. Bow has a reach of 3 tiles.

I killed 4 people trying to kill me for my crown last time I had it. I kill boys for the gods sometimes when we have too many kids. I like to kill people trying to get away with murder or shit talking to me. People doing nothing and looking others working.
I never kill hard working people, they derserve to live

If the user simply wants a game for murder, then FPS.
If the user wants to break down the work that others have done, there are Dominoes and Legos.
There are many games that support medieval sieges or large-scale battles.There is not enough penalty to slow down after committing murder.
In reality, murderers are wanted and stigmatized.In ancient times, if a murderer deliberately kills someone, there was a culture in which the entire victim 's family tracked the murderer.
If the stigma penalty is excessive, what about the hunger penalty?
If the killer does not know the hunger for a while, or if the food gauge is cut, it is a good enough penalty.

I dont think you get the game, which is about us doing things as having guards and finding solution, not jason putting hundreds of penalties because players don't feel safe. Hunger penalty is already there, you want a second hunger penalty ? You are not supposed to feel safe, you are supposed to have a hard time. You can leave town, but town people never do that.
There is the 2hol server if you want a murder free server, or even minecraft. You told it yourself you can play another game.

You can't complain against murder, there is one cure : Learning how to play, I never get kill and win all my fights. Last time I have been stab was because I stabbed by a griefer's mom while trying to explain who I killed, she misstook me with a murderer and she killed me easily. If you can't deal with a murderer, then you don't really know how to play.

I thought this idea was dead cause non viable too, seems like a overreaction after all the nerfs.why not make a second person that feed the dude that could feed a killer ? Nah killing is part of the game, we all complain about it one day but when you learn how to play you can out play griefers and killets.
I think we should still keep the game hard.
If you have a weapon around YOU WILL ALWAYS have the time to kill the murderer during his cool down. And if knifes don't work. It would make bow super strong.
I think the acctual system is good, you just have to learn how to play. First time fighting it is very hard and stressful but now, nobody stands against me.
With the acctual mechanics, fight are skill based, which is very good.
Karma system is useless, how many times do we have to rewrite it why it is not viable. It wont be implemanted.
But the Iron handcuffes that keep the players and make him unable to disconnect is super needed, we need slaves to be sold. Doesnt decay and stay until it got remove by the key or pickaxe, pickaxe destroys iron handcuffes. I am in favour of this, don't post that on reddit, people put me 0 everytime even if it is a good add. Griefers hold reddit.
War -> take the place, kill all opposition, keep some baby girls and a hostage. Make the place yours.
Raids -> stealing food and stuff.
It is cool to raid or war people, but making relations between village can help them both to extend quickly. Except when you starve, it is always better to be social. Alive villages keep making food, clothes and baby girls, a place to flee if you killed somebody in your village, you can rule both of the city if you have an horse and a crown.
All i'm saying is if you need to KILL somebody and drink blood, find reasons to do it. Killing people because they are prey is fun, but there is more fun, it is up to you to create it.
