A knife, as far as I know, cannot be dissembled and scrapped
It can.
Yeah, making bows is also easy, even if knives were hidden in a property, even if iron and smithing was hidden in property, griefers would just kill the person who has the gate access with bows they made and get the knives, or just keep killing with bows if they had enough arrows.
Give it a try after the update. It may change things.
I'm saying it again, but I liked old killing system mechanics with no countdown and posse required. People cared about having lots of healing pads, about having many red cross aprons and healers. With the old system we could easily heal the good people and kill the bad guys in this scenario. Even if someone was trying to grief all healing pads by making them dirty, we could react right away and stop them from doing this, we also had pads in our aprons.
I know you love property fences, but... I don't. I actually dislike them, furthermore I'm even scared to use them as people keep cursing for using them. And what could we do in this situation to prevent griefers from killing us? Lock whole smithing? If smithing wasn't locked they would just make another knives. Lock all iron? Even if smithing was locked they could just make new adobe kiln.
I played this game a lot and I know people don't like property fences too. That's why there are no property fences around things.
Maybe you were cursed by some people playing in other towns, so you couldn't be born near them.
Content is king, and our king is missing.
Maybe you managed to craft everything that is possible, but I guess about 95% of people haven't. Majority are newbies. They will stay for longer if game mechanics are more pleasant for them, I don't think they actually need more content.
I enjoy playing with people that aren't totally useless. If newbies will keep quitting almost right away after buying the game, we will always have about 90%+ of people that can do nothing. If people actually start staying with the game, overall skill will increase. Then we could actually ask for content that would make this game really cool and not only minority could enjoy it.
Patethic. I hope you end up in dt.
I won’t ask for refunds on my main account only my extras since I mainly bought those too support the game more and bring in some sales.
Yeah, sure... Your additional accs went to donkey town and that's why you asked for a refund for them. I wouldn't be surprised if you bought another accs after you got the refund just to keep griefing.
I think Jason shouldn't give refund for accounts with many curses.
Great!
I am a little worried that yum becomes OP.
Yeah, I'm also worried it may be OP.
Maybe a top cap could help if it actually turns out to be OP.
Let's say 15 yum would be the cap (or whatever you put, maybe a live setting? So you could decrease it as needed), then every next yum food would give you 15 pips (or whatever the cap is). This way people still will want to have as much food variety as possible, especially when doing hungry works.
Would be nice to also nerf milk together with this change. People lately drink more and more milk and it's definitely way too op, especially after this change people would take milk with them to do every hungry work.
race restrictions wouldn't be so bad IF!!! IF WE COULD STILL LIVE TOGETHER AS RACES IN ONE VILLAGE!!!
Why would we need race restrictions in first place then if we could live together, that would be sensless.
I mean, biome restrictions are just bad and I will be super happy if they will be gone one day.
I'm already tired of watching villages starve over and over.
Yeah, me too. Something should be done with all these newbies...
I used my Orders to tell them the news but I am not sure if it even matters what I am saying to them.
They probably didn't receive them.
Your immediate followers will pick up the message whenever they get within 10 tiles of you, and their followers will get them message when they are in close proximity, and so on, until everyone in your tree has the message. As an example, you might be away at an outpost and then return to town. When you return, you will be automatically told the leader's most recent standing order. When you get an order message, it's accompanied by an explanation of which leader issued that order.

Dammit, unbreakable yum chain could improve their experience for sure, while not really affecting expert yummers, they would eat only yum things anyway.
I'm also tired of the amount of newbies we have and that there is no way to stop them from berry munching. With unbreakable yum chain they could realize it by themselves that it's not a good thing to just berrymunch. Eating variety of food would be not only fun for them but also rewarding.
And also this would make sense. Why would a few meh foods make you "unhealthy" if you are also constantly eating so big food variety?
I feel like this change would improve this game a lot. Please Jason, consider this.
I actually enjoyed most of my lives a lot after the food changes.
Yeah, a few of them were really bad where we had no iron and no iron veins and not even horses, very little food variety, bad farms and little water... But it all depends on players. Our past generations left us in place like this, shame on them!
Yeah, it all depends on players, if 95% of your family is useless whole life, then yes, you won't have much time for your family if you want to feed them. But if every of them worked at least a little and eat smart or at least decent, you would have plenty of time for your family and anything else, your fam could survive even ten thousands of years.
One person no longer can do everything while the rest of the family is sleeping whole life, and it's great. I was bored so often, especially in big towns. Now we don't even make it that far, lol, but only because there are too many newbies.
Only first family's well site unlocks iron veins.
Also after the next update (tomorrow probably) it will work like this:
When triggering unlock of iron veins due to a primary homeland, we only count it as a primary homeland if it taps out at least one iron vein. Thus, if a family makes a bad choice for their first well in an area with no iron veins, they can move later to a spot with iron veins and unlock them with a new well site. Fixes #590

I think it was a pretty good idea. Reconsider it, Jason, please.
It could actually make the game more interesting for newbies.
This game is interesting for people who know how to play it, they stay and play it for months and even years. Most newbies quit it very fast. Making the game more interesting for newbies wouldn't be a bad idea, maybe that's the key that would make the game population actually grow over time.
I just played a life, someone made an engine in black family's town, there are still many uses of newcomen pump, so I decided actually making a property fence to protect the engine from being stolen. I made a 1x1 property just to put the engine there. There was a kid that removed it. I made it again and told him to not touch it, told him that I want to protect the engine. He cursed me and started removing it again. I cursed him back, got a knife and killed him (people joined me because they agreed that we need the property to protect the engine), this guy got another curse or two. It wasn't actually me who got him stabbed. A girl came from farming just to curse the killer and went back to farming. There were also 2 people who said "curse you" in a place with about 8 people standing close to each other, so probably 2 random people got cursed too.
So much drama about one property, lmao ![]()
Engine is hidden in the property rn.
Btw, I will actually make property around diesel pump next time I see it. Just a 1x1 property with the well inside. I'm worried I will get cursed, but I will risk it, will see if it's worth it.
Fk, sorry for my bad english ![]()
Corrected it, please remove this disgusting image.
When I played yesterday(food changes were already live), things were going great in towns. So much food variety, people were working great, we had and were producing lots of food. I managed to make an engine in the brown fam. When I logged a few hours later, I was born into the brown family again. We had no engine and no food at all, everyone was starving. Probably people lost their motivation after the engine was stolen, I'm not sure.
The thing is, people don't like to use property fences to hide/protect things. I kinda doubt they will ever do it. Our game experience will be bad because we will just lose our engines over and over again, because Jason doesn't understand that we refuse to use property fences. I could understand protecting stuff from other families, just like it was in the rift, but protecting them from griefers? Some smart griefers would get them anyway I think.
While yesterday morning (eu time) every family was doing great, had big variety of foods and people actually worked, today when I checked a couple hours ago it was a complete disaster.
Every fam was starving and lacking iron. Many people got mad I guess and decided to grief.
I was born in one town that had 6 bears in. https://i.imgur.com/cG7jy7Y.jpg
I don't blame food changes at all for what what was happening. I blame biome restrictions and that we can remove engines from wells (if it gets stolen, people lose motivation and town dies quickly). I partially blame also iron changes. It's annoying that families can't move on to a new/better place without an engine and kerosene with them. And it's just stupid that some families start with actually no iron veins at all.
People were dying a lot and that's why you had so many kids.
I don't know if things are better now, probably some fresh towns are doing good.
While I like having finite iron (infinite with kerosene), I really dislike the way how unlocking iron veins work and their grid placement.
Damn, looking for a natural spring that has at least 2 iron veins and is in a pretty decent place in grassland, with easy access to swamps and yellow prairies must be really time consuming and annoying for Eves.
and from your post I can already say that you don't do the jobs you could do, like killing shorn sheep or pig, cause you aim to make a high meme yum score for no reason
I actually do kill sheep, without doing any hungry work, it would be hard to get over 20 yum chain...
This morning(eu time) I managed to build whole engine in brown's town (without lathe, no tool slots left). Had to smith all iron ores into steel ingots, brought tons of kindling, I also cooked lots of pies and got rubber for our newcomen pump that had 2 uses yet. All this in one life, eating only yum foods. I mean, you can be as efficient as when having mono diet.
I don't aim to make a high yum score, I just use this mechanic because I like it and it's efficient... At least now, before foods get reworked again.
don't call it "meme yum" only because you don't like it. Give it another try, you are too inexperienced in yumming to say you hate it.
it's not even a mechanic, it's just an exploit that came with it, and most people do it exactly once, first and the last time
I think it's just you that did it exactly once, perhaps long time ago, that's why you think "most people do it" too. I mean, you shouldn't even give suggestions to change yum mechanics if you are an inexperienced yummer. Current yum mechanics work just great.
I see on live-dev-changes that food is being reworked again, so no sense to continue this topic, gotta wait and see what we get.
Don't compare me to spoonwood, pls, I'm actually a smart person :P
Benefits:
-A reason for yum to exists other than the memes, a proper reward that can be used for jobs or even further techs (jobs that need extreme hungry work or omega ultra mega hungry work).
Yumming is not a meme, it would be a meme if it was capped at 10. Why would people care about having tomatoes or onions or many different other things if it was capped at 10?. Makes no sense.
Pein, top cap would make it so boring and totally not worth yumming at all. Just give yum a try, it's funnier and easier than you think, you see "yum/meh" when you holding a food, and it's not hard to remember foods that you ate. I love to see towns alive instead of what it was before - people being damn lazy because they didn't actually need to do anything.
And I don't think yumming is a selfish act, the more yummers, the more different foods we will see in towns. Even if someone plant one green bean, it has 5 uses, right?.
When I cook, I cook many different pies now, I don't care that I make berry pies, I don't care eating raw corn, they are still great foods for yummers, and it's damn fun.
It is already proven that Milk is twice as better than the best yamming
I made 26 yum chain one life, is milk still better? Maybe a little, but the downsite of drinking only milk is that you need to drink it every while, getting it with you outside of town is inconvenient and most important drinking only milk would be damn boring. With yumming you can easily make your food bar having +40 food bonus, and you can forget about eating for a long time and focus on your job.
People just didn't adapt yet. More and more people will realize that yumming is the way to go, and it will get only better.
Yumming is the way to go, if someone doesn't yum, they surely won't enjoy this change.
Last life at about 20yo I already had full food bar and +40 bonus pips. Foods give less pips and that means you can eat more foods at once and that results in more + pips from yum bonus.
Ironically this change made that yummers have to eat less frequently... Just wait to a point when you are starving then eat many yum foods at once, you will have lots of time without eating, so you can be productive at that time.
