the ugliest looking, messed up cities are made by white people that's for sure
That only proves psychology is very important. Whites knows they can't bring stuff for rubber, they can't make bell, so their town will be doomed.
All righty… Question. How does white ones fit in homesick update? They will get homesick too? They need to find others and there's no way we can find them (to biome specs we would have way stones). And why would someone wanted to give them oil or rubber, when they don't have anything in return?
OMG. Kingdoms will come, through wells. ![]()
So trade means you won't only need rubber and kero for your town, you will also need to distribute them, so you will wait longer for supplies. So water crisises will be longer and bigger and at least in 3-4 towns = even more boring and frustrating.
Currency will probably means the same - you will wait even longer for water. xD Everything will comes down to it, bigger system = more delays.
Are my predictions wrong?
Wait, how it will work? Family wells means if a member of your family made a well, only your family can reproduce near it?
And what if your family dies, how can you know well is 'occupied' or not? And what if a brown griefer made a well near arctic, blocking gingers from making snow village?
I do have a spirit - my spirit wants more freedom. ![]()
Um... it's also nice to have a table next to well (diesel well) - you can store maps to tarry spots and oil pumps, also tanks with kero. Tables are better than boxes for that, because stuff on tables are more visible than in a box.
I made an oil pump and a map to it, map should be next to well (in bell town) and oil pump is north-west from town (there's a black-brown village just before the pump).
Um... So Jason thinks we will take it like good little boys?
Players that actually bringing stuff feels alone (in their duties)... They are constantly being beaten in their asses (with more restrictions).
So...
What you get when you cross more boring stuff with a society that doesn't help?
You get what you fu** deserve. xD Number of players will drop. Something will be dead and I think it will be a game.
Can't you get water from other well ?
No. Personally I would like to never, ever again go to ponds/wells for water. I would like to have tons of water.
I tell you what people, on my second playthrough I was making food recipes that I never did (in some big bell(y) town, belly cause there's so many foods in big towns, that makes our bellies big... LOL. nevermind...
).
Anyways... It was f-u-n!
I tried third life and I found out that, once again, we've got problem with well (rubber this time).
I felt... like life coming out of me. xD Literally. This 'problem' is not fun at all. I was the one that complained about lack of danger after rift, so I'm ok about threats. But I wanna feel alive! FUN - feeling alive. We feel alive, usually, when we're breaking routine, aren't we? And isn't constant lack of water just a big, boring routine to solve?
Put some stone floors at the farm, to be able put down adzes. Make some extra floors, like main road in a farm (3 tiles next to each other), sometimes there's too many stuff on ground so we can't put things away.
When it comes to heat bonus I suggest something to carry babies for mothers, bag / shawl. Baby would have heat bonus from mom.
As for beds, it seems to me like more repeating and not enjoyable stuff just to be able to do the work.
So after months I came back to game to see what's up, I've checked other online games while I was off, but OHOL is still one of my fav. But I can't believe, water is still a problem. xD I was born in town with blacks and there was one ginger - Lucy Dyjak. We had diesel well, so she wanted to help with oil! We communicated via paper, had two rods, so we can make pipe, beside that I think we've got all parts for pump. I told Lucy she needed to check onetech and she need a tarry spot in arctic, I even make a horse with tire cart for her and a map to tarry, but... when I came back with a map I saw her body, she decided to die before old age (she didn't have kids and... I think no one helped her in village, so she suicide).
So that's it, this is game about water problem? You guys wanna trade and other stuff, while our mayor problem will be from first stage of civilization? Or from a world with desert only, while it's not true cause we've got all the biomes?
How can we have
1. family specializations
2. other problems beside water
in the same time? We will be stuck forever with water crisis. Game will be dead if something won't change, problem with water doesn't feel like a challenge, it feels unnatural and like we are stuck in it. Problems should progress like everything... ![]()
I repeat, because I'm a little upset.
How does it even sounds - a game about building civilization where mayor problem is always the same. You can craft many things, you can progress your town just to have the same problem over and over again. Even on rift we had other problems, like people who wanted to kill families one by one.
I would like to read some thoughts about this...
As ginger you can live with family in arctic. In fact races should be restricted by having diseases beyond their biomes. ![]()
Nice idea.
140 issues? Players, please stop reporting bugs for some time!… I want that car from trailer. ![]()
Solo is better. Example - Jason making OHOL by himself. xD
In multiplayer shooters (FPP-TPP) I feel like total noob because of high skill of others compared to mine, while in OHOL, I (as fairly advanced player) felt like I'm wasting away. OHOL playerbase is not skilled and determined enough to depend on each other.
Jason thinks players should behave like he would, approach problems like he would.
Problem is... we are players, not makers - we are lazy, 'giving up' type.
And we need accomplishments more than problems.
I once thought many troubles and loses will be more interesting during the game (any game).
Then I played Mass Effect and I lose squad member in ME2 (who played it knows in which part). I felt shitty, but I didn't want to do the sequence again.
But I felt so shitty to the point I was even... broken, I didn't want to solve any other problems like I did. I became a little psycho that do everything just for personal gain or - just to fuck things even more, because if I suffered I wanted others to suffer (by others I mean NPC's in game!). It ended in sad end and bad decisions through the game (betrayals etc). I feel depressed in the end.
After that I realized we need accomplishments badly! It's childish, but yes, I will give up if something goes wrong or I would make even more mess.
I think many people would behave more like me, than like Jason.
I quit the game, I was too bored. Please add more tech in next few months.
When I was in donkey I spawned in someone's property fence (made for cursed eve's), next time I was chased with a weapon, so I ran for 60 minutes. xD I'd say playing near griefers and murderers are good punishment, playing solo will end in chill life. So I would suggest - make cursed people play next to each other, but in different locations each day, to prevent donkey bells.
Fever, huh...
It's a... sign! OHOL needs diseases too. ![]()
Guys, do you realize that with race restrictions plus diseases we will be fucked? What if only capable ginger for oil will die or be paralyzed because of disease? Lol. We would wait for water longer, towns would be in even worse condition.
You can call such forced reproduction whatever you like, but how would you feel if you were forced into reproduction?
Fuck feelings. I just wanna log in to game.
Actually Bobo is going to school (I talked to him), so theory that griefers are mostly kids or teens can be true. ![]()
From Zucc to Succ - history of town in two names. Zucc was not too bad, until it last for too long, became boring and messy. Many people decided to go there and 70% of tables are a storage for their clothes. I think fancy clothes should decay and backpacks too (as long as knives and bows). Also it's not best developed town. I'm watching Twisted videos, towns used to be pretty (:P).
If he want trade and we want specializations only for luxury goods, not survival, diseases between races can help us all. ![]()
Using stuff that was used by other race will give us disease and we die. They must first sterilize it for us. They would do it, if we have for them our luxury goods to trade for (also we need to sterilize it for them).
Basically in villages and towns should be area for exchanges with stuff to sterilize.
This would change game into:
- living with our race
- surviving with our race
- trading with other races for their special stuff
- it will also prevent outsiders from stealing our shit
There are still things to consider about:
- can stuff be disease-free after some time
- what about white people, how they can fit into this
