Giggity.
All of the intersections on that blue square would be possible locations for nearby wells for the town using the well at the center.

http://lineage.onehouronelife.com/serve … id=6114423 Just now I had twelve babies in a span of three minutes and I was three hundred tiles north of my family well!!! How the holy seven hells did this happen?! bug glitch?? I starved trying to keep my three oldest alive an get them home. When I was reborn I was also born to a girl that was no where even close to her home well an she had about six babies all about the same time as me??? http://lineage.onehouronelife.com/serve … id=6114426
I also posted this in the Bug Discussion forum. so @Jason lol any clue whats going on??
Did you look around for another family well up there?
If someone from your family made another well up there, the area your family can have kids in would have been increased, from 100*100 to 100*200, the new 100*100 centered on the second well, which must be at least 200 away from any other well, when made.

everyone was starving on my eyes.
Can't unsee it.

This is where great cities begin.
And yes, bear lovers go crazy.

Picture 3: High tech walls, but walls none the less. A robot. Ok, I'm willing to give a pass on that robot...
That robot is powered by atoms! We don't pass on any thing, a tomically powered, round these parts!
In nature, no one needs to water wild bushes ...
This isn't nature. We're in a simulated drought.
Global currents may or may not change, but for now, we need to help where we can.
Take advantage, of every advantage, we can get.
Stop wasting soil on berries.
Take backpack with four water pouches, four bowls, in a basic cart, out to four wild bushes. Take all berries and water each bush, take your bowls of berries home, add your carrots and do what you like with them, then refill your pouches and go out and repeat. By the time you finish doing that to another 4 bushes, the old ones are growing back and you can repeat with them.
Is it that hard for you to make water pouches?
We made hundreds of them a day back 2 years ago.
Long before people were even in the habit of making balls of thread from sheeps wool.
We made them with milkweed strings.
Make pouches, water wild bushes, be thankful for what nature provides, with the littlest care.
I wish I was smart...

Sad days for iron workers, all around.
i know it got updated but when i search the ley lines i find nothing whats going on?
the rules, are dumb
not even worth explaining, they are so bad
Is this the right thread to enforce the implementation of cocoa milk?
Every thread, is a good thread, to insist, that cacao plants grow in jungles, and from them, we can have chocolate cake, chocolate milk, and deliciously hot chocolate.
Let no thread go undisturbed, by the absence, of chocolate, in all the world.
Here is your picture, for all to see.

As for the farm tile idea, not bad, some kind of border is always nice for raised beds, IRL, helps divert pests and keeps weeds and lawn from moving into your growing area.
Flat grill with long shafts is a bad idea, the shafts would dry out and burn down and the flat rock isn't close enough to the coals to transfer heat while the coals continue to receive oxygen. In real life, if I were camping and wanted to make a nice grill area around my coal bed, I'd put three flat rocks, vertically, around the coals and put a fourth rock on top of them. Oxygen will continue to feed into the front, where there is no flat rock, the heat will be directed towards me due to rear flat rock and smoke and hot air, continue to rise and be reflected by the 3 base rocks, towards the top one. I generally wouldn't cook on a flat rock on top though, I'd use sticks as skewers and pot hooks, to cook food or boil water. Now, a fire on a flat rock, on a wooden stand, would make more sense than a fire, or hot coals, below a flat rock on a wooden stand, but in real life, there are a lot more scenarios, a lot more possibilities, in this game, as in others, breaking all those possibilities into more accustomed, more usual recipes, formulas and designs, is the overall goal. If you ask me.
Bones don't make good food for worms. Dead animals, don't make good food for worms, what does make good food for them, is the waste of all the carrion feeders that do feast on animal remains. Bacteria in a lot of soils, will break down bones over time, but it takes awhile, and it's best if they are weathered and bleached by the sun for many years on the surface, before getting covered by grass, leaves and other debris, then the decomposers can get around the bones and into the pores. The acidify the moisture around the bones and make elements like calcium and phosphorous, readily available for plants and mycorrhizal fungi. Then, when the plants and fungi begin to decay and break down, the worms enjoy their remains.
Worms, in this case the kind you want for fishing and decomposing, will not hang around corpses. They're just not attracted to them, not until after vultures, coyotes, flies and, lastly, fungi and pants, have had all had their share. And all the while the microorganisms, are feasting off the corpse, finding homes in the carrion feeders and continuing to break everything down, that nothing else wants.
Worms want decaying plant material, or better yet, the microorganisms that live on it. They farm them in their guts. Warm, moist, yeast, bacteria, fungi and algae, all coexisting in the microcosmic soup of each droplet of water.
Plant material, is what should go in a compost bin.
Animal bodies are their own matter; ours included.
We must not be afraid to look upon our own mortality lest we never overcome it and get on with our lives; falling like dominoes in the playroom of a phoenix.
Serve your purpose in your fall.
The future rises before the past.
Either adapt or don't, Jason doesn't care either way.
Of course he cares. Have you never added a new rule to an old game? There is always a reason. There is always a concern, for such changes; always a desire, to see if that concern, manifests itself in others.
Putting forth such a proposal, whether it becomes a house rule, a regional custom, or an 'official rule' is worth the risk that the other kids don't get it, ban you from ever playing with them, and no longer trade their chocolate milk for your apple, at lunchtime.
chain of 31 can be impossible and wasteful on its own and it's still a meme not a logical gameplay mechanic
You can see Joriom, me and Coconut Fruit are Polish.
How could I have see that?
Nothing I see, makes it clear where people are from, unless they put the information into the forum to display beneath their avatar.
Regardless, I like to treat everyone, as though they are my neighbors.
Even if our countries were in the middle of the worst war in human history, I would still treat anyone that I engaged with on the internet, like a brother, sister, or childhood friend, from the start. Later it may turn out that we feel the same way, as our warring countries, and don't look past the things we dislike, but for me, it is much more important, that I assume the approach of an 8 year old boy, to another 8 year old boy and every relationship, begin as neighbors.
The mentioned video here: https://youtu.be/bVkKavTffwE
I wish I could understand spoken Polish. Youtube used to have an autotranslate option, and it helped for 50% and I could gloss over the 50% that didn't make sense and begin to see the message that was coming through in the translations, but I can't see that now. It's a high quality video, I wish I had a better sense, of the feelings the narrator is having, as he is describing his experience.
Is that one of you? Speaking? Or are you simply pointing out the moment they caught you on camera? in their (TVGRYpl) video?
No matter; still neighbors, still friends, still family. Thank you for sharing the video.
I am not playing since magic property fence was introduced. I dislike voodoo solutions and constant nerfing/fixing the game. However, I've developed some kind of Stockholm syndrome and keep reading the forum hoping the game will move forward. I was advertising it among my friends. But now, when someone asks me about the game "you only life an hour", I say honestly the developer stucked in the cursed circle of nerfing/fixing the game with gamechanging mechanics. I worry the number of players will decrease so much by the time he will start providing content again, the game will become not playable
This is a full suitcase. We have what we want, and we have what we get.
I only want a chance to give Jason a sincere hug, for the fire he has started with this game.
Whatever becomes of it, there is no denying what it has been, for most of us.
No sense in denying, the feelings we've taken, from experiencing it together.
Only the senses of a real, physical, gesture, of thanks, respect, love and appreciation, for this undertaking, will ever really scratch the surface, exposing the, fossilized titanosaur, of emotions, connections and life, of experiences, that this game has afforded me. The game can hardly be compared to others, because it is tackling things most others have never seen. It's a game, alone, in the wild, in a lot of ways. And there are many bears, packs of wolves, and challenges; challenges to stay alive, as a human being, in these wilds. It represents a lot of brave steps. I won't forget them.
I can't forget them.

300 ml is like 0,3 L that's not that much.
Well if you add the 6 beers, it could be
No, it wasn't, that much, but I wasn't drinking anything else in that time except a little water and I was cutting a lot of trees and branches, with a bow saw and folding saw. It was good rum though, called, The Kraken.
Good story.
If we don't teach, people will learn,
but we, can help them learn too.
Even better, we can help them learn,
to teach, by teaching anything, more often.
This is one reason I am against consistently bootstrapping new towns, with products of old ones;
people need to learn the steps, when they are needed to be taken, at all stages and in order.
They'll get it.
We'll get it.

Do you live near the border of Poland and Germany, by any chance?
I've forgotten where you are from, Glassius, if you've ever said so.
I have become curious, lately, who plays this game, from where in the world, and their connection to it; how they learned about it.
also, from a person that still mixes up there and their, from time to time semicolon closing parenthesis.
(Typical defensive old man rant inc.)
A lot of you really don't know how well you have it, with phones and the web and all this. ALL THIS
My first modem was a 14.4K, and I didn't even, really, understand how to make modems work with computers, reliably, until I bought a 28.8.
(Both from RadioShack.)
Get off my lawn. Colon D
Old people, back me up with a cane here.
I wonder what Jason's earliest modem, memory's, speeds are... I'd be pissed if he said his parents had a 2400 and he remembers when they upgraded to 4800.
Oooh, so pissed.
Jason probably remembers Electric Dreams.

You were stoned out of your mind when you wrote this, weren’t you?
I had just woke up. Read a few posts, and realized people needed guidance, in these difficult times.![]()
I drank two days ago, and have fully come out of that after a lot of good sleep and warm coffee.
Two days ago I had about 300 ml of 94 proof black spiced rum, over the course of 6 hours, while working in the woods, then drank about 6 Bud Lights, with a friend, over the course of the next 6 hours. I was never very drunk, but, the alcohol and the work and fresh air, did me good. Some of my muscles were sore, but the spring work, was the most of the sore muscles that I slept on for about 20 hours between two days.
The woods are wet and the air was refreshingly cold, again, for April in this area. I slept through two resnowings, after most of the snow had melted most, like, 95%, even most piles of snow near most parking lots and in the sun's shadow of buildings, was gone. Last years grass is brown and... the trees aren't even budding yet.
I walked through a lot of mud, another reason my legs were tired and it was just nice to have some simple, watered down, carbonated, white bread flavored water, with 3% alcohol, or, whatever the minuscule percent is in a domestic beer like Bud Light. But, it was what he had, it's all he really likes to drink, when it comes to alcohol, but it's okay. He's a good guy.
It was mostly the sleep. I am at peace and feeling good. Haven't drank anything but orange juice, coffee and water for the last 3 days or so, since that evening.
Maybe it was more the orange juice, I don't know... reading the stress other people are posting, in other comments. I just think, people could approach things, from another angle. People can look at what happens, the more they express frustration. Leonard said some things about Jason, in another post, that really inspired it. That's the real thing. I want you to know who you are really playing with, Jason Rohrer.
![]()
I want you to know, the other side.
;-)
Let's get the obvious stuff out of the way, first.
Jason Rohrer is a person.
You are a person.
We are all people, playing, Jason Rohrer's games.
Jason Rohrer, makes games for people to play.
You are playing many games, right now, made by Jason Rohrer.
One Hour One Life, is only one of those games.
Everything, that you share, anywhere, on the internet, regarding One Hour One Life, is part of a Jason Rohrer game.
The closer you share that information, where Jason Rohrer can access it, the more likely it is, to be a part, of the next rule, of a Jason Rohrer game.
Rules in Jason Rohrer games, can and do, affect other Jason Rohrer games.
Jason Rohrer, himself, is a Jason Rohrer game.
This forum, is a Jason Rohrer game.
Every post here, is part, of a Jason Rohrer game.
Everything you do, in a Jason Rohrer game, is tracked, by Jason Rohrer.
You are many numbers, in many statistics, of Jason Rohrer games.
When you complain, about Jason Rohrer games, you are playing a Jason Rohrer game.
YOU, are not a game, in Jason Rohrer games, Jason Rohrer, IS, a game, in Jason Rohrer games.
So, how do you play Jason Rohrer?
I- I don't know, I'm just asking.
You're the one that clicked on this post, based on the name of the subject. It must make sense to you. Doesn't it?
So how are you playing him? And, why are you curious about a guide that might help you play him, more effectively?
What effect, do you want, from playing Jason Rohrer?? Hmm???
Is Jason Rohrer too easy for you?
Is Jason Rohrer, too hard, for you?
If Jason Rohrer is too hard for you, then how do you expect to win, Jason Rohrer?
Do you want to win, Jason Rohrer?
Do you want to play, Jason Rohrer?
Perhaps it is best, to just play, Jason Rohrer, and not to understand, why.
Why Jason Rohrer?
Why are you playing Jason Rohrer?
We may as well, seek to understand, why, play, at all.
Ask the lion cub, why it plays, maybe she will guide you.
Ask the dolphins, the gazelle, the, three, pronged, deer.
Why play?
Why play, Jason Rohrer?

Thank you for enjoying my guide, about you.
How could we go about, making paintings, to be hung, in game?

Somewhere between the limits of what would be desirable, by a person with no coding experience and the most imagination.
And all the coding knowledge, and ability, of the world, is a method, for a functional way that people can make paintings for this game.
All input is welcome.
I have a few thoughts, and observations, to add.

The frame can be as simple, or as complex, as it is wanted to be.
Short Shaft + Blank Paper = Frame with Canvas
Boards + Bolt of Wool Cloth = Frame with Canvas
Bowl of Wood Pulp + Clay Crock = Bowl + Partial Crock of Wood Pulp
Bowl of Wood Pulp + Partial Crock of Wood Pulp = Bowl + Half Full Crock of Wood Pulp
Bowl of Wood Pulp + Half Full Crock of Wood Pulp = Bowl + Nearly Full Crock of Wood Pulp
Bowl of Wood Pulp + Nearly Full Crock of Wood Pulp = Bowl + Full Crock of Wood Pulp
Bolt of Wool Cloth + Full Crock of Wood Pulp = Bolt of Wet Canvas Material + Clay Crock
Bolt of Wet Canvas Material + 120 seconds = Bolt of Dry Canvas Material
Bolt of Dry Canvas Material + Bucket of Water = Bolt of Wet Canvas Material + Bucket
Small Pulley + Long Shaft = Partial Small Pulley Mechanism
Small Pulley + Partial Small Pulley Mechanism = Small Pulley Mechanism
Steel Rod + Small Pulley Mechanism = Partial Roller Press Mechanism
Steel Rod + Partial Roller Press Mechanism = Roller Press Mechanism
Long Shaft + Roller Press Mechanism = Roller Press
Roller Press + Multipurpose Newcomen Engine = Newcomen Roller Press
Bucket of Water + Newcomen Roller Press = Empty Bucket + Newcomen Roller Press with Full Boiler
Basket of Charcoal + Newcomen Roller Press with Full Boiler = Basket + Newcomen Roller Press with Charcoal
Lit Candle + Newcomen Roller Press with Charcoal = Lit Candle + Firing Newcomen Roller Press
Bolt of Wet Canvas Material + Firing Newcomen Roller Press = Bolt of Canvas + Firing Newcomen Roller Press
Knife + Boards = Knife + Carved Frame
Bolt of Canvas + Carved Frame = Blank Painting Canvas with Frame
Bow Saw + Wooden Wheel = Bow Saw + Paint Palette
Paint Palette + Bucket of Red Paint = Paint Pallet with Red Paint + Bucket of Red Paint
Paint Palette with Red Paint + Bucket of Orange Paint = Paint Palette with RO Paint + Bucket of Orange Paint
...
Paint Palette with ROYGBIV Paint + Bucket of Black Paint = Paint Palette with ROYGBIVB Paint + Bucket of Black Paint
Paint Palette with ROYGBIVB Paint + Bucket of Milk Paint = Paint Palette with ROYGBIVBW Paint + Bucket of White Paint
Shears + Tame Horse = Shears with Horse Hair + Tame Horse
Shears with Horse Hair + Short Shaft = Shears + Paint Brush
Paint Brush + Paint Palette with ROYGBIVBW Paint = Paint Brush and Palette
Paint Brush and Palette + Blank Painting Canvas with Frame = Paint Brush and Palette + Painting
It can be as complex, or as easy, as we are willing to make it.
But what happens when the painting is made?
Could it be that a view, like with the camera, comes up, and a person begins the process of reproducing what is in that view?
Would the painting need to be placed on a tripod and moved around, and then, a smaller drawn and painted version, of the image they see, is reproduced on the canvas?
Should the player, be able to draw anything they want? If so how?
Should they be able to choose, from a selection of items, to be painted, and then a painting of that item is produced?
Should people be able to upload, and image they like, that is then shrunk and cropped, to, say a 64*64 canvas, that is then, able to be seen, by everyone?
Maybe a choice of frame sizes and color schemes, based on the paint of the palette, could then be made available to choose from, as filters for the uploaded image, and the player can choose from those colors and sizes, what image, will appear on the canvas?
What is possible?
What is doable?
What do we want and what are we willing to add, to the world?
Again, all input is welcome.
Share any idea you like.
