I hate the mess that exists right now in the game ... trees cut everywhere, roads, abandoned clothes, corpses anywhere on the map ...
I also miss the exploration of the map and the surprise of finding a corpse of some EVE or some citizen of a nearby city, or an early camp !!
The solution is simpler and you only need to see games of the same genre as age of empires
paper maps that are discovered when exploring and being able to share that knowledge with other players
and add skills and objects to explorers
The cracks are claustrophobic in many ways
but the big problem is that we repeat life again and again in the same cities
this week I have lived a minimum of 6 times in the same cities (which already had everything)
I am very tired of living again in the same cities with a different last name
But, does it help to propose improvements or changes?
I feel that nobody reads these proposals
Jason, you talk about an improved game,
I see a game with repeated lives once after another in the same cities and towns
By enclosing ourselves in the crack, you have limited a map, limited the respawn of Eves, resources and most importantly ... to limited the number of cities
this update repeats the experience of living again and again in the same cities, the only thing that changes is my family's last name or my skin color
when I am born in a city, I know exactly the location of other cities
It tires me to live on a limited map, depleted of resources and explored several times
With the old OHOL, I remember living lives as an explorer on horseback (I loved it), all we needed was a map to complete little by little!
Being born again doesn't feel fresh anymore ... as before
I think I understand where you want to go by locking us in a limited place, but I don't think it's a good idea to suffocate us in a cube, with this you will only get: repetition again and again
I think you should value another solution for this (dynamic maps that are resolved as you explore can be very effective for trade and wars)
you should look more at the history of today's civilization ... you will discover that exploration and navigation have been vital to the development of our history
A Goal without a plan is just a wish

Regulating spam is what you expect on a forum, and complaining against enforcing it is idiotic.
You would have nothing but garbage on your forum if you don't enforce it.
You presume correctly, and I'm glad you do, because if you couldn't tell that was sarcasm, then you'd be fucking stupid.
Regulating griefing is also what you'd expect in a multiplayer game that emphasizes social interplay, and enabling and encouraging it because it is "inevitable and interesting" is idiotic.
You would have nothing but garbage in your game if you didn't try to curtail griefing.
+1
Morti had more than 500 posts and I never thought it was a problem for this forum ... I don't know why he behaves this way now ... wouldn't it be better to try talking to him?
instead of banging it??
It didn't bother me, the community is small and Morti wasn't a troll
If we ban good players and leave the griefers, the stories of serial killers and trolls ... who will stay in the forum?
I need to tell you something Jason ...
I don't care if you've implemented war swords in a multiplayer breeding and civilization game
I don't care if you've implemented a magical nuclear bomb (monument of the apocalypse)
I don't care if you introduce war
I don't care if you support griefers and murderers
I don't care if you've decided to change the game completely
I don't care if you've decided to get into a mouse trap
I don't care if you like watching families fight for nothing
I don't care if you like to see your peaceful players who bought the game suffer without knowing how it would end
I don't care if you like racism
I don't care if the game doesn't follow the course of the story and it won't even look like
But please!!! solves desynchronization, bug abusers, disconnections, lag and hackers !!!
I can deal with many things ... but this seems too "sado"
It gives the feeling of playing an abandoned game
nobody likes that:
they kill you with a war sword from 5 tiles away
walk and receive an arrow from nowhere
see people appear out of nowhere by my side
see naked people and an instant later be fully dressed
people who run much more than you
people who walk with leaps when you chase them with a sword
please do not implement more "interesting" mechanics if the engine or netcode is not prepared to deal with it
It is annoying to all players (griefers, murderers and pacifists)
oh, and if you can also solve the replays display, in order to report an error it is sometimes necessary to review 1 hour of play (real time) ... no thanks!
The question is ... Laura will continue reading this?
Laura will have learned to make knives?
Laura will have managed to steal a knife somewhere else?
Laura has managed to kill someone?
I need an answer!!!! ARGGGG
29.0000 or so (I don't have the computer right now)
You shouldn't trust me, or anyone else on the Internet! hehehe, but I have no reason to lie to you with this
You can check what I am telling you ... try to lock your city and not let them out of there ... and look at your punctuation
if you have a normal life (without killing anyone) your score will increase
Now try to take care of all your children and look at their score ... if you have bad luck that your children do not know how to put a berrie in their mouth ... their score will drop
I'm not a griefer ... I locked up my city for a reason ...
https://onehouronelife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?id=7579
Would I do it again? YES!!
but this is not my usual way of playing
Ahh... and some griefers are probably doing something weird with the game code. Who else saw them teleporting or moving unnaturally quickly?
Welcome!
Many people have noticed this ...

I see what you say Pein ...
dobbie: black family on NW town fence, lasted a while
i was going to NÉ side as it failed again and again
i finally made cistern and we gathered water
i seen the loose engines in Elderio, the fact that NÉ town was robbed of buckets and horses, iron, carts, etc and that it was still very good composition of biomes, lot of branches, told discorders to take one engien from elderio (that time was rioto)
so then it can hold a family and less pressure other sides of mapand actually it was holding, but the last day, it was other dobbie family, some kid was named dobbie from a creol fam and so the name stay but that was other family
elderio was mining with an engine and the extra iron got to NE side, 2 engines got made, with the rubber trees i planted, around 8ish tires which ended up on carts mostly 4, 2 stolen
and it was mining iron by the end of the day and hosting tons of people during the day so the input was honored by the people, and overall made everybody richer
This was my "family"

-I would be somewhat sure that griefers have lower fitness score that the average player.
Yesterday I spent 25 years locking up my family to starve to death and earned genetic points ...
In another life I raised wild pigs and the same thing happened ...
curiously one of the lives where I was a good mother and I took good care of my children, I lost points because my children did not know how to do anything without starving first ...
Luck!
I saw when they removed that door Pein
In that city they looked like a lot of children on their first day of OHOL
my family had the last name Dobbie
To start my mother insisted on sheltering me, when I had the temperature above the optimal threshold
I took off my clothes and she kept putting on my clothes ... I finally separated from her so that another player raised me
I immediately realized that the Dobbie had killed my young camp early some generations ago in previous games
I remember my brothers and my mother who died with the war swords of this family without doing anything and with no chance of escape
we had no swords, no bows ... nothing to defend ourselves with, my mother was the daughter of an EVE, and the Dobbie, s annihilated us without compassion
kill for kill we were no danger to them
also remember that in other lives, the Dobbie, s tried to access in our city with war swords, but in that family we had a property fence protecting the perimeter and only some relatives and a great friend of mine from abroad died.
going back to the Dobbie, s (my current family) I noticed that they only had 2 doors, because they were locked between 2 corners of the crack
and of course I was going to take revenge, I wanted everyone to suffer
As the idiots were busy moving the South Gate, my main goal was the West Gate (there were no more doors)
the property fence door deteriorated and nobody cared about it
so I picked up a round stone and seized that door ... the door was my property
the South gate didn't worry me too much since almost nobody had permits and I was about to close it with property fences
No one passed by because they couldn't open it
When I had just locked up the Dobbie, I was still young and decided to go exploring with my horse to live as long as possible and leave this family locked as long as possible
I only hope to have contributed to the extinction of this family effectively
I was there! Back when it wasn't so... dead. Ye, we had tons of bearskins. Good times.
I rebuilt that bakery
but it didn't help because the killer killed all the women
sigh
I must add that this new game mode has encouraged me to play ...
I had not played for a long time and my first game for a long time was fair in that city ...
I was Rolan Balboa
http://lineage.onehouronelife.com/serve … id=5109788
In one life I have discovered that:
It seems that the reduction of the map allows us to return to the problem of "Sudden Infant Death"
PVP is still a joke
Small camps and EVES are the best target for griefers and murderers
The griefers enjoy their murders, without trying too hard now ...
Bears are the new mosquitoes
We have been forced to use property fences (forcibly) although they are quite deficient and nobody likes
Racism is more widespread than ever
Stealing is easier than searching or crawling any object
Big problems finding iron and milkweed
I've also seen good things ... but they have been when I went out to explore, not when I lived in the city.
I get the feeling that they have put us in a small mouse cage to force us to kill each other while the problem of disorder, motor deficiencies, forced PVP and the imbalance between pacifists and griefers is still present
I imagine he is being forced to trade with milkweed and iron, but I have not seen anyone trade with this ... because nobody has enough.
I hope Jason solves these things too
A few weeks ago I tried to kill another player with the sword of war and the other player moved with small leaps
I also noticed that he was moving faster than me because while I ran behind him, he moved away from me
At that time I thought it was desynchronization ...
I mentioned this a long time ago:
https://onehouronelife.com/forums/viewt … d=7005&p=2
I have always believed that OHOL has 4 big problems with this ...
1.- Players with mods and vanilla players living in the same server
2.- If you want to have PVP in your game ... The game must have an engine that supports PVP
3.- With PVP you must have a good anticheats system
4.- have a suitable netcode to avoid jumps, desynchronization and Lag
Making a game with PVP is more difficult than it seems ... (Electronic Arts KNOWS)
Sometimes I imagine OHOL very popular (1000 online players) and I think about the problems that we would have to suffer the usual players
You can imagine 100/200 people with war swords ...
or the typical chetos of online games ...
or massive desynchronization in a battle with 100/200/300 players at the same time ...
or the glitchers!
imagine that in a battle with 200 people there is a player, who is a programmer and has designed a MOD / utility to be able to be caught by anyone and instantly kill other players!
I better stop imagining ... because it scares me to think that this is really possible
it's not murder, it's birth control
Basically when Jason flips the game from multiplayer parenting and civ building game to terrible pvp game he has to actually care about making the pvp part usable.
this is the point
OHOL is not a PVP game and is not designed for PVP ...
The current PVP system gives the feeling of being a patch ... something that is out of place.
OHOL does not have an engine that adequately supports the PVP and I do not think that when Jason designed the current engine, I would like to implement the PVP
From here, I think it is necessary to think well about the future of the game ....
Jason must ask where he wants to take OHOL ... and from here work towards that direction
If you decide to follow the development of OHOL with PVP mechanics, things should be done well
It is only necessary to observe the games that have PVP mechanics and learn as they have done others that take more time in the PVP:
create a suitable engine for the game's PVP
Anticheat system
Resolve bugs related to combat
system of reporting abuses and glitches from the game
do not allow mods on vanilla servers
resolve latency and desynchronization
netcode optimization
If we do not want to have this kind of options and technology in OHOL, it does not make sense to implement the PVP
if we visualize the trailer of OHOL, all this is not necessary ... the PVP is not necessary!
It would not be better to implement the climatology, the sea, the rivers, the natural disasters, the space ships and the exploration of other planets, devils and a million other things!
But please!!! Let's think well where we want to take the game of OHOL !!!!
let's not make absurd updates
these "magic differences" of the war swords in foreigners or relatives, and these "balance attempts" of the "killer dancing" have only one explanation for me:
OHOL DOES NOT HAVE AN APPROPRIATE ENGINE FOR PVP
I think that they are implementing unnecessary mechanics in an engine that is not prepared for these things
I have also detected many problems with the PVP: location jumps in players, desynchronization, bugs, glitches and of course an exaggerated imbalance)
All this I attribute to the game engine
and I do not want to talk about a non-existent anticheats system (essential requirement in a game where there is PVP),
or that we are all playing on a server where there are people who use mods and others do not ... (I find it very unfair)
With the PVP these deficiency are very visible,
but there are many other things that the engine should be able to do and currently it does not ... (for example mobility and vehicles)
The shared transport ...
I remember several posts in this forum where mobility is discussed with cars and babies, I proposed months ago the old caravans of the old west (in the pure western style)
logically this is useless and absurd now that we have a motor vehicle (it does not make sense to go back in technology, that's why I think it was a big mistake to implement the engines and vehicles like the plane or the car)
For all this ... I keep repeating that we need to sit in front of this game and decide where we are going
What do we want to achieve at the end of this game?
If we do not have a final goal ... this will become a lot of new objects and absurd and useless mechanics (radios, cars, planes, rubber balls, dogs ...)
I'm a player who started playing within the last month so war swords have been a normal part of gameplay to me and I don't see a problem with having them in the game. I think maybe the implementation of fighting and cursing features could be adjusted but they are not awful. I'd like to see more defense options for towns such as binoculars and lookout towers then people can help out as guards to protect the town and give early warning against invaitors with weapons.
The game is still very fun. Most games I've played I'm unaffected by warswords, if I'm killed it is usually by a knife or because the medic process is too complicated for many players.
Have you ever wondered what is the use of having the new mechanics of languages, when we have war swords only for foreigners?
seriously do not you see 2 mechanics that cancel each other because they are contrary to each other?
When the new language mechanics was implemented I thought ... wow! this is great!
but this mechanics together with the war swords so unbalanced towards foreigners converts the new mechanics of the useless language
Knives and bows were one thing, but the sword does not belong.
That said, we'll probably have things like handguns, grenades and planes will drop bombs before we are just sending drones and terminators out to kill people for us, while atomic powered robots and automated flak cannons defend our cities.
Not the direction I would go with a gem like this, but Jason has made it clear, this is not our game, it's his.
I'm afraid it's just going to wind up being another Castle Doctrine, but we'll see.
Or, we'll leave and never know what became of it, remembering the times we cared for each other like we recall our own childhood.
Just the description of "a multiplayer game of parenting and civilization building"
Why does what is produced have to be poor quality? I feel like it just needs to be a "walk before you run" kind of thing. Do simpler crafts, build to more complex ones. Then you couldn't just make a plane right out the gate. You'd have to craft simpler items that the town needs first. Crafts above your skill level are just undoable (albeit for a short period of time).
but what you describe is just what we have now ... nobody makes a plane in an early camp ...
Maybe the cause is different, but the result is the same
in an early camp we do not have a bomb, car, plane, etc ... because we do not have the material to build it
It is definitely the same
