I wasn't getting "connection lost" before going back to server 1 but now it's happening all the time.
I've noticed several weird issues specifically with server 1:
* Everyone freezes, lag?
* Bouncing bug.
* Hunger chimes not going off correctly (when there doesn't seem to be any lag) so you starve because you only heard a ding at the last second, or sometimes not at all.
* Dying of something like a snake bite, but the "YOU DIED" screen says it was because of "connection lost", and the family tree entry says correctly that it was a snake bite.
Anyone else getting strange behaviour?
In real life taking care of babies is not that hard. They aren't a huge sacrifice, they're the whole point of doing anything. Baby carriers exist. Denying them because "babies should be more annoying" is a cultural attitude (and a mighty self defeatist one at that) where the West has been raised with divisive anti-generational attitudes. Everyone is pitted against everyone else because lonely people make easily manipulated wage slaves. It's important to set a good example whenever possible, and denying a tech because people might enjoy their experience together too much is wrong. Those three game minutes represent 3 years. Yep, it's not that bad. Those berry sponges? Kids do sponge before they figure life out, and we have to survive all those many years while they do. We need those things that bring us together, because the drive to create higher tech will bring it's own difficulty. We shouldn't start life with a negative attitude towards each other. We developed baby carriers so our hands could be free. Free to work, and teach, and set an example for those babies so that they may have a head start in learning all they need to know. Those baby carriers are Tutorial 2.0 and are an essential part of learning how to work together.
... i named her dead ...
So you're the one who keeps naming everyone Dead aka Deadrian!
Stupid autocorrect... they meant bacon.
The one good use for clutter is bear repellent! Just stand on the clutter or in the berry farm and the bear can't eat you. More experienced players can simply lead the bear away.
What I like about the animal system is how they all behave differently. Bears really aren't that bad. They're slow and big and obvious. Pigs on the other hand are fast and aggressive and hard to see amongst the swamp trees. I can't wait for bacon.
more stats and notifications, when my kids die or the last woman, i want some notification, maybe a whistle? or at least a necklace which brokes on death and unremovable once u split and put up with someone
marriages would be nice, even with incest, we got a way to have twin eves, so one names boys, other girls and they can marrya better system could be made, like a baby borns with a necklace, half of it you could put on a home marker tree which could contain more names, when it falls you know the person is dead, other half would be near the grave, containing age and some stats maybe
How about a totem pole that grows for each person alive born within the town? A stack of male & female symbols so that we know what the makeup of the city is. Maybe even unique versions for baby-fertile-menopausal. The totem pole would lose the corresponding segment when people die.
And again, maybe a way to summon an Eve, a dance around the totem pole.
I feel like someone who is Nameless should at least be Nameless Lastname. Then if they grow up and manage to have kids, they pass on the lineage properly.
Maybe not on the page... but in the code.
It should be on the page.
Lastname is a special gift from Eve.
Firstname is a special gift from parent.
Idiots shouldn't be able to take that away.
* Dysentery, because why not.
Because how else are you going to hatch eggs?!?
EDIT: Seriously though, I want more character types. Lovely detailed randomized people. Please ![]()
* Broken steel tools don't go in a hand cart.
* Bow and arrow don't fit in horse-drawn cart.
Have a town hunter. I've played this role many times. Many many skins for the town.
Bear skin rugs should lay on any ground type, not just built floors.
The names are based on this US government list of historically most used names that goes all the way back to 1880:

Rice could exclusively be grown in the wetlands biome.
Crops specific to biomes, and then much larger biomes, are what would drive real culture and trade in the game.
So +1 for rice! More of everything please!
The biggest problem with the game... is that there isn't MORE of it!
Vastly more character variation would really help each life feel unique...

Thank you Google for Earthworm Chow:

clay crock + worm + onion + water + mushroom + flour + hot coals
I was just on server one and lagged out twice in a row. Infinite bouncing.
I was 8 years old, and 4 years old.
Thank you ![]()
OHOL is trying to be realistic, and right now, everything is pretty easy to survive in real life...
LOL, first world problems.
I was thinking, once OHOL gets as advanced as this, will there be money, jobs, and people who can just relax? Or will it generally just be the same forever. Working the whole time your there, with at most 5 minutes of talking to people?
This is where manufacturing time vs lifetime becomes a problem. When a minute is a year, transition times will have to be eliminated to be able to simulate the work that gets done up to higher tech levels... and I can't wait!
I'm not blind, but this is not a mindmap
Google mindmap and you know what it is
https://onetech.info gives you all the uses for things as well, if that's what you need.
No messy whiteboard drawing format though.
Why build walls at all?
If you must, wooden boxes are best walls.
Set your homemarker and die of OLD AGE. This will probably cause an Eve to appear at some point.
Does this actually work? I wish it did. It would be nice to know the next Eve gets to benefit from your camp.
Hopefully the get reborn immediately as girls.
EDIT: I do hope the optimization works so we can get large server populations again. I like playing as a boy.
Currently with the server cap so low, "girls only" makes sense for now. I've started so many wonderful camps just to have them die out because I had only two kids and they were both boys. Sad.
Encore! Encore!

I like how Jason has said not a single family line has lasted past 24 hours and here you are complaining it's too easy.
