Unless Jason changed the code, you are mistaken.    Your mom has to pick you up to prove that she wants you.

INCORRECT ... several days ago this is happening ...
the babies can do / die without their mother picking them up ...

I do not know if it is intentional, an exploited bug or a hack ... but it happens constantly during the last weeks.

ahhh and your cooldown time is not reset

I also believe that buildings are currently purely aesthetic and are not necessary
I also believe that buildings must be vital for survival
I think temperatures should rise and fall randomly and being inside or outside a building should mean life or death by freezing

I certainly hope so. Just went through a life, Eve Tarrs keep spawning around our gated village. some gets shot, some pass in for whatever reason. But i think i saw at least 4 eves, and I dont even hang around the town square, working as a banana forager

I'm always the level-headed one who thinks we should really really not accept these people given the current meta. I always make effort to drive them away and ask them to settle elsewhere. If I can't even run, what am I supposed to do Jason? Am I just expected to die over and over because you're enabling griefers? Open your eyes PLEASE and see your game isn't made for PVP and stop pushing it in that direction.

I'm so frustrated and angry because I love this game so much, and I just want to play it without having every life end in a griefer Eve killing me.

The worst part is I literally just convinced three friends to buy this game and play it with me. I don't even know what to do. I don't want to play this game right now but I convinced them to get it.

Push the Eve changes to live IMMEDIATELY.

Yesterday night I was playing 2 lives
In one of my lives I was exploring the map and ended up living in another family where they welcomed me and allowed my children to grow up there.
they dressed my children and raised them as one of their family ... it was great! ... until the ratkids arrived (eves murderers)

First, death-wounded relatives began to arrive warning that outside the city there was an attack on the people
Then they started to enter the town and started killing people abusively
When you killed an eve, other murderous eves arrived

EVE MURDERS II
EVE MURDERS III
EVE TARR X
EVE TARR VII
EVES WITHOUT NAME

EVES continually reappeared right next to the city, and they only dedicated themselves to enter and kill who could ... it was horrible and very frustrating

I have never felt bad about war swords (although I think there is a lack of balance) but this has escaped the control of all
these players are not interested in playing OHOL ... they are not families with various rivalries ... they are not wars for resources ... it's just killing for killing ... they're just players who are dedicated to murder ... they do not raise to their children, do not create a camp they just kill ... they enjoy ruining other lives of other players

I have always thought that killers or griefers (smart) are not so bad for OHOL, they give a challenge to overcome and generate stories (some very good stories)
but this is not the same, here there is no intelligence, no cunning, no goal ... it is only to kill for killing because there are no consequences

I defend the idea of Jason, but some OHOL players are not up to the game

OHOL is a good game and the main idea is fun and promising, but it takes a balance, diversity and solve the current problems of OHOL to continue moving forward

Above all, a balance is needed in:

the swords of war
suicidal babies
the time to be able to explain to the newcomers
the time to enjoy a life
in the resources of the map
the curses
All cities look the same

I also believe that some updates have been implemented that are too advanced at the time, such as:

Cars
the airplanes
the trains
the radios

And there have been updates that in my way of seeing the game, do not make sense ...

Letters
dogs
the pigs
rubber balls
fish fishing


for me this is necessary to solve the lack of balance and the problems of OHOL

Explore on horseback or on foot (we need maps, compasses, multimarcars, etc ...)
make family (adoptions by men, the importance of man in the family, babies with father)
the funerals (death is the most disastrous management in this game at the moment, nobody buries anyone unless it is for doing something)
avoid suicidal babies (there was talk about the TOKEN of / die and penalties ... suicide is free and it ruins and demoralizes the experience of many players, it also creates indifference with the new births of babies)
books and libraries
storage and food silos
updates with logic (we can cut a radish with a sharp stone but not with a knife, we can not eat a tomato or an onion, we can not tie our horse to a tree)
updates with a chronology (we have planes but we do not have tractors, we have diesel pumps to extract water but we can not make irrigation channels)

I currently enjoy OHOL, but I need to solve this and some other things before continuing to evolve in new ideas

Jason, I think necessary a change in the system of markers and positioning, I think we should have a slightly more advanced system ... for example the creation of maps
maps that you can mark positions and transfer it to your relatives ...

In my last lives as a woman I have dedicated myself to distributing children in different early camps to help ....
I always ask my children if they want to stay or go back to the big city and the vast majority stay in the camp early
I think it's a good way to avoid the / die

the problem is that when I return to my hometown, it is very difficult to find those early camps again
I believe that a map to mark positions would solve this problem and could be transmitted to children born in big cities

I think you are exaggerating, the game still has the same base of players and the last update has created a more dynamic game in many ways ...

I even think that if the game continued as before this update, I had more chances to reduce the player base than right now ...

Before when a city came to have the diesel engine, the decadence began in every way (babies dying, griefers, players who did not know what to do, etc.)

now there are more stages before reaching the "complete" cities
and you always have to be alert of the "brigades of death"

now it is less repetitive than before and very good stories are generated!

The game has changed and I particularly like it a lot more now than before ...
the game is more dynamic and avoids repeating the same lives over and over again ...

I know it is annoying to die at the hands of someone who kills randomly for no reason, but thanks to this new mechanics I have had incredible lives
I have only died 2 times with a sword, since the implementation of the war swords ... the rest have been very good lives and stories, some lives, with griefers included

I think the biggest problem in OHOL today is the endless trend to / die
this is what most demoralizes the players and what really kills families ....

It is very annoying to have babies that do not take 1 second to execute / die ...

The swords generate stories ... some incredible! other horrible!
I believe that the swords are balanced in many ways ...

it is true that a single person can create a massacre in a village
but it is also true that there are many ways to avoid this kind of bad situations

1.- It is time to create hospitals in conditions and have doctors assigned
2.- property fences avoid many dangers (animals and people)
3.- create several knives or have a bow near
4.- vigilantes

War awakens the ingenuity of societies (like it or not)

The game has changed and I think that people should also change the way they play OHOL
before the update there was no challenge other than building and crafting objects again and again ...
Now we can continue doing the same as before ... but now we have to be prepared for a possible attack

I did not understand what the people were doing around that guy armed with a sword in their hands
people were picking berries or raising their babies right there while that guy was killing everyone around him
logically that guy did not need much effort to kill the entire town ...

If you see someone with a sword in their hands and you discover that it is not of your lineage ... flee or strike back because it may be the end ...
but do not stand still by the fire raising your children ... because you will be the first to die

in Catalonia where I live, we have 2 native languages (Catalan and Spanish)
at home I speak the 2 languages interchangeably and my daughters also speak it naturally
at an early age the language is learned if the family speaks naturally


my wife is Argentina and she had to learn Catalan expressly, to listen to him help, but she does not teach you a language when you are already an adult

I think that implementing something similar in OHOL would be great

the problem that in real life, we live an average of 90 years and we have time to learn a language

The new language system is great!
In my opinion it is a brilliant idea that I have not seen in any game
A unique experience is created and the learning unites you to that lineage in an indirect way

Anyway, I think we should solve 3 "small problems" to this system

1.- The simplest words (for example .... NO or YES, NORTH, SOUTH EAST OR WEST ...) should be learned at the time of being in a city automatically ...
2.- Maybe it would be a good time to implement simple gestures (for example, to point an object or address)
3.- The learning of words should be transmitted to our children automatically, the words that I have learned should know our children at birth

I think these simple options would facilitate coexistence and migrations to other cities

my last moves, have been exploring new cities and discovering new families

When I was a woman I left my sons and daughters in the cities I visited

I explained to my children where their hometown was and left them there to cross lineages

they have been the most incredible lives for a long time !!!

I love the new system to bring families and language closer

I am a player with many hours and I have created almost everything that can be crafted in OHOL .. and this has given me a new experience!

I recommend everyone to go out and explore new cities and relate to new families

Lately I've complained a lot (from the base of players who use / die) and I'm glad to know that this problem is being reviewed

unfortunately these days I have very little time to comment on proposals to improve the current / die system
What if I can say that the system / die is not bad but it has to be improved so that mass suicides that we have now in the cities and towns of OHOL do not happen

the respawn screen that you indicate at the beginning of the post can be a significant improvement, we should try to see if with this system the number of suicides decreases

Most of the suicide babies that I have seen do not wait for 3 seconds to commit suicide .. there is no time to see the cities correctly
/ die is being used for 2 things:

1.- travel to another city
2.- to appear as EVE

I rarely see babies looking around and then committing suicide ... that almost never happens
