a multiplayer game of parenting and civilization building
You are not logged in.
Add a bonus to owners, like bonus for giving birth (which is realistic btw
) and there, you have a reason to build and own property.
I was thinking about houses, but we already can make them, house + locks, no one does that. We can't own doors, griefers would own bakeries/smiths.
My idea is - we can have sheets, for tents. Property fence + sheet = non decaying property. Sheet can be made after having loom. Tents can be always re-used after deaths of owners.
It's possible to still have this while having an "observe" mode by not letting the mother know a child is on its way. This would decrease the frustration of /die while still maintaining the comedy of instant babies from the mother's perspective.
Fair enough. ![]()

Nobody can force people to do what they don't want to, if you try you will get either runners or bones, that's why I'm against /die command.
There's something wrong now with the distance, 20k from bell is too much. Bell tower is the most important thing, people will come to town by itself, without it towns are doomed.
Hmm… I don't know. Children are mom's responsibility, not all females. Is cousins children affect my gene score?
Vanilla is too ridiculous to play. Hair change is not visible enough, so moms aren't even aware they are became old, lol.
How long are roads on bigserver now? Do we have a map of towns?
Oh, ok. But why you keep playing on lol pop servers, to get more stable towns? We need everyone on bigserver, especially the peaceful players.
Towns need more things to be build. Winery is one thing that is now common. There should be more and more, before town runs out of nearest recources, to point it need to be abandoned, everything is developed, so boredom comes. We can make towns bigger, but finally there isn't any more content that can be put to new spaces.
Way stones aren't even needed anymore, they were before bells. I would even remove them and put paper + arrow on tree instead (make it permanent with hatchet).
Too long pregnancy could create traffic to joining game.
But mom should be aware that someone is in observer mode (she is pregnant), so she can talk to baby, like tell "we got home (wine!)" etc.
Advantage is that moms won't be missed any babies behind trees / on horse.
Also, perhaps as a fetus you could kick to indicate responses. Mothers could ask kids their preferences and kicking could be used as a yes-no indicator.
'kick mom to approve her'. xD But nice idea!
Yes, probably you have to move everything to new forge, that's the part I didn't do in Rabbiton (and new forge was closer to fire!).
Anyways… I got question to everyone, what was yours most exciting life/lives in OHOL? When it's most exciting for you?
Can player be in observer mode for 10 seconds, before he/she will be born? Like 'press enter to be born in 10... 9.. (etc.)'.
Can player be in observer mode for 10 seconds, before he/she will be born? Like 'press enter to be born 10... 9..' etc.
Can game have something like that, would it be useful or troublesome? It would be faster than making a sign. Any info could be clipped in visible areas.
Thanks for all examples! When I have time I'll check them.
- Start a building, a new pen, a new bakery etc.
People will smash new forge, I've seen they do so skip new blacksmith.
Dunno if exciting, but other options:
- make hospital with a looot of pads and stitches (it need to be near town center), be a doctor
- make workshop / storeroom
- form a gang with followers
- make a harem, I once made five crowns and have four wives lol
- be a bitch/asshole, make drama, work in pair with griefer (be a doublecrosser maybe), have affairs etc.
- make a house and live there / kidnapp bb there and raise as own
- be architect, make everything beautiful as much as u can (roses, good looking paths, coloured walls, trees, storage)
- make bearena
- be a firekeeper, assign jobs
- ill say breed dogs, but they are damn useless ![]()
I don’t think it means forcing anything.
We just neede to be able to make golden coins, people will use if they want, like the hierarchy system or the property fences. It only would be forcing if people be forced to use currency in order to pick up items and whatnot. But as far as I am concerned, giving the ability to make currency in game, won’t force anything
In my opinion total freedom is the reason why this game won't be pushed further into something else and by that there won't be currency etc. (I mean real thing, not just decoration).
I think this is a great idea. Especially if you could use keys to actually play notes. Hold the instrument. A key plays A note, E key plays E note! Hold shift to play a sharp, hold ctrl to play a flat.
When someone starts playing you just see music notes appearing over their head. They you can say "I listen to you" or some such thing to hear the music, or maybe "I ignore you" to not hear it.
Exactly!
I've been born into families that make their own religion and altar. Though for some reason in this game they are all called cults rather than religions. I've been a follower of the mystical cow (cow that was walled in), the magical horse (horse with crown), the anti-Jason worshipers (their goal was to a build a wall to keep Jason out), and I was once a Flame Priestess (we were a group of women and girls we had an altar with an always burning flame in the middle).
Cool. One time I was born in a place with separated area for priests, where was a bonsai (holy tree
), priest wore special clothes (I think dressed all white), they had written down code and priest always had a mission to look for young successor to be raised according to the code.
Idea to make religion wars is good, but we lack of churches to begin with!
I want more RP items. Maybe not religious ones though, they have too much trigger potential.
I want more cute things like bonsai. Let's have a garden table, with lots of different plants from all the biomes. It can be the Temple Of Peace garden table for all I care. Let's have more stew items and resurrect the Stew Cult. They wanted more stuff like this.
Same. More stuff to do when everything is settled and peacefully.
Watermelon daddy shrine. ![]()
Dogs. They aren't even an item, but still. I like them, but people breed too much of them and they die too soon.
Magic pole dance to the clouds, you can climb on it and see large areas of the map (however you will lose all your stuff to the ground
).
When it comes to multiplayer all I played was FPP's. What you guys recommend? What I'm looking for is basically what OHOL lacks, game similar to OHOL where I can interact with every objects, but with currency, professions, also social structures would be nice. All I can think about is something like... Ultima Online? Is it good or bad example? I mean a game where I can be a baker, but also a warrior who kills monsters/other ppl.
Good idea. ![]()
Also
Family tombs (flat rock + cut stones)! Hide 3-4 bones in a tomb. After some time it can be re-used. Baby bones should be smaller (as a sprite) and takes only 1/4 of space in a tomb.
It would be nice to play on something while riding or walking on those long roads.
I often play some music in the background when I'm traveling. Imagine, we can pass tracks to next generations. We're lacking of culture!

Yes, I know people will make noise just to annoy others...
Like, idk, altar? Church?
One time I lived in black family, there were other blacks beside us in village. So I start discussion with my family if we can get rid of them, some guy was eager to stabb, and sooner or later someone will start war between us, so why can't we do it now? There were only like 1-2 females from them.
But I've got a lovely daughter who often tells me she loves me, she was cute. I feel bad about war because of her. When the war between families has started, she start to... roleplay as a preacher, she prayed for peace at the 'altar' (I mean three stone walls that looked like altar).
To be honest it was nice experience, I stopped killing because of that. ![]()
So why not, maybe in some future update? Huh? ![]()

BTW yes I consider people will start sacrificing others too…
