#451 Re: Main Forum » War on stone hoes » 2019-03-29 10:41:43

My thoughts on this: stone hoes save time.
the Skewer have 5 uses and when the useful life is over, you have to go and find another Skewer
the time used in this process can be used to plant a new line of berry bushes or go to look for iron
The Skewer are not practical for me ..

I also believe that the iron hoe should be the second / third item to create, after the ax or shovel if you need to create wells

#452 Re: Main Forum » unravelling tangled family ties » 2019-03-27 08:33:41

I think the family tree should give more information about the character ... a few days ago someone wrote a post with a photographic report of the people with whom I had lived ... we should definitely have cameras and the possibility of attaching those photos in our family tree

#453 Re: Main Forum » Big towns die because of game mechanic and not players mistakes » 2019-03-19 11:28:50

I think the problem is simpler ... there has been a great decrease in players at OHOL ... I guess it's due to the few content updates in the game ... (useful and accessible content for all) .. .. logically if there are fewer people playing ... and you add it to the prohibition of area, it is difficult to see cities with a lot of active descendants

superior combat skills???? in OHOL???? JAJJAJAJAJAJAJAJAJAJAJAJ OMG

or you have become confused about the game forum ... or you are an authentic NOOB that needs a "superior combat skills" in order to kill someone ... that does not say much about you ... who knows! maybe in a few years you can plant a carrot ... but step by step ... remember that you need a "superior farm skill"

totally agree ... in several lives I have tried to have a high level of YUM and it is stressful, boring and you spend 30 minutes just looking for new foods, without doing anything else

#456 Re: Main Forum » I lived a life taking selfies with townies using a wooden frame » 2019-03-19 10:10:38

One of the most brilliant ideas I've seen lately in the forum, I think Jason should incorporate in the game the cameras and that under the picture you can write (or appear automatically in the photo) the full name of the person .. and that it was something that supports the passage of time ... it would be great to be able to see the photographs of the ancestors of a city

#457 Re: Main Forum » Open later: Top cap for yum » 2019-03-14 17:59:16

the YUM system is very well to "force" to create a greater diversity of food in large and medium-sized cities, but I think it was a mistake to unite the YUM system with fertility ... I think it punishes women who travel a lot in search of iron or resources ... or new mothers ...

I do not see it equally with men ...

men do not have any penalty if they use the YUM system or not ... only the benefit of extra meal time is removed ...

#458 Re: Main Forum » Mosquitoes... » 2019-03-14 17:46:05

Mosquitoes should not be fatal, they should only have side effects ... such as incapacitating the person to perform various tasks ... until medicines are administered ... this same thing I have commented on several posts ... the punishment of this game is always based on death ... there must be more challenges or difficulties to overcome so we do not have to always focus on not dying ...

#459 Re: Main Forum » Seasons! for farming. » 2019-03-06 17:33:04

Sure, the period would come as several years per season.  But, we could imagine ourselves on a planet which has a multi-year climate cycle.

Women have children without contact with anyone, we can create a complete apocalypse from stones and human sacrifices and pork meat can not be fried ... nothing will happen because the game is located in another planetary system where a station complete lasts several years

#460 Re: Main Forum » Seasons! for farming. » 2019-03-05 17:45:28

I would add temperature changes with the arrival of different seasons, the weather would not be static and the temperature would be dynamic.

Here I leave the Cartesian map with the locations of players of a whole day at random

This image leaves me thinking, if that day there was only one big city? and the rest are Eve's early camps that died with few births ... can anyone confirm it?

#462 Re: Main Forum » What an adventure I had. » 2019-02-21 08:46:48

and once in the game, how do you follow those coordinates?
Is there a mod that tells me the current coordinates?

#463 Re: Main Forum » Some interesting statistics » 2019-02-20 21:28:37

This is the filter of players who die of hunger with 55 - 59 years

I consider that these players could have finished 60 years perfectly, without difficulty, but possibly they have committed suicide ... or they have forgotten to eat because they did not listen to the bell.

At those ages I do not lend much attention to my bar of hunger ..., I consider that I can not do much more for my people ...

JoshuaN wrote:

Comparing your old pie chart to your new pie chart based on percent of the population...
17.47% Died to disconnects (old) and new: 26.28% of deaths are disconnects.
Another observation is murder rate is much lower, 4.23% then as compared to 0.99% now. People must be a lot less bored now that everyone is starving. I would like an in game murderers perspective of how often they murder now as compared to before the update and if their playstyle has changed. Perhaps it was just a good day.

Another thing to note is the quantity of deaths in your first data set and the current one. Is this just because there are more players now?
If we could compare how many of those deaths were early deaths 0 sudden infant death, 0-2 child starving, and 3-15 early life.
I think its possible that the greater number of deaths correlates to the harder early life for naked & eve players.

If I also noticed that the disconnections are now much more frequent, but remember that formerly we were separated into several servers (maximum of 60 players) and now we are all concentrated in a single server with an average of 150 players, logically the comparisons between the First graphic of this post with these graphics is very complicated.

The murders have gone down a lot, but I do not know if the deaths by snowballs are considered murder, disconnection or hungry ... maybe Jason could enlighten us with this

#465 Re: Main Forum » Some interesting statistics » 2019-02-20 21:03:24

I explain, to be fair I made another graph with the data of February 19 ... if you think it well the day 20 has not yet finished and the numbers can vary a lot ... the following graph that I show is a full day, without changes of numbers

Sin-t-tulo-1.jpg

Joshuan asked if within deaths by disconnection, sudden deaths are also included ... it is correct ...

I have filtered the total of deaths by disconnection and I have counted the deaths of less than 30 seconds of life (real time)

I remember that sudden death is only available for about 30 seconds + -

Here is the result:

I'm still reviewing data....

Here I have not eliminated the deaths of less than 1 year (these can be suicidal babies and alter real deaths from hunger), when I have a few minutes I will clean the results

#468 Re: Main Forum » i'm not the only one that thinks new update ain't that bad - youtube » 2019-02-19 18:47:52

These days I've been playing a few lives with the new update,
and I must say that it is not impossible to survive, but I fully understand the anger of the new players

With this update we turn to focus on the problem in hunger ... it seems that most causes of death are due to hunger and the game is based too much on that challenge ...
that's why we spend all our time looking for food, and eating a few minutes ... and that's not fun and it's very stressful

Some time ago, before the update, I wanted to have the longest YUM chain possible and I got a good number of food combinations,
but I was all my life (up to 35 years + -) just looking for new foods ... again we have a challenge based on hunger ...
After the update of births (good food and heat = many children) appeared and the same thing happened again ... again we had to control our food obsessively

that's why I say that this game is becoming a simulator of eating and running ... when I think it should not be like that.

In the lives that I have had after the update the cities are filled with dead bodies and the civilizations advance thanks to the most experienced players ...
that's a bit sad and eliminates the experience of teaching new things to newcomers, since it is very difficult to explain something if we have to eat every 2 minutes
I'm also seeing an augment of the thieves of clothes when it's time to die and an exaggerated augment of sponges in the fields of berries or rooms ... without leaving there and doing nothing but eat

an idea to soften this update ... I think you should implement the seasons of the year (spring, summer, autumn and winter) and create a dynamic climate, not biomes with static climates ...
the creation of dynamic climates (softer or more hardcore) will allow time to adapt and be more fun for all

Logically the desert will have higher temperatures than the snow by default ... but there should be milder times of the year than others ...

I just hope that the next update we get more types of clothes that allow us to better advance civilizations and forget to be eating every 2 minutes

#469 Re: Main Forum » This week's update is the worst » 2019-02-18 00:06:20

Surviving is not impossible, it has only gotten a little harder now ... although I must say that unfortunately the game has become a simulate of eating and running ...

the temperature update honestly was not as I expected ... this update has only led to eating more often ... so much that sometimes it does not let you interact or perform simple tasks ...

I do not see a big difference between being in a building or being outside the

novices have no chance of surviving ... even if they are in a room with a bonfire ...

I have been living a life and all my children have died before 5 minutes ...

I do not want to be pessimistic, but this is not very nice to play for a newcomer.

#470 Re: Main Forum » Lower the Donkey Town Requirement » 2019-02-12 18:00:42

this is what I mean ... retouching the system of curses will not solve the number of idiots

this retouching of number of curses will only cause that we will pay all .. (the good ones and the bad ones)

If the people who kill the griefers and murderers end up in DonkeyTown, I do not want to imagine the nightmares and dramas that are going to come in the cities!

#471 Re: Main Forum » Lower the Donkey Town Requirement » 2019-02-11 21:20:12

I do not want to be heavy and believe me that I understand perfectly that you want to lower the requirements for DonkeyTown,
Even if Jason decides to toughen DonkeyT's sentence or lower the requirements, I will applaud the measure.

But what I want to express is that it is very difficult to "clean" the game of this type of people

There will ALWAYS be griefers (unfortunately)
There will ALWAYS be bitter people who need to destroy the fun of other players, and even if we send them to DonkeyT after a few hours
they will be among us again in each town and city (and they will continue trying to ruin our experience)

that's why I think that people should act more in the game, and not in the forums
must react faster in the game, and detect the assassins and idiots of our cities

In many games I see raising abandoned children that are not their own without asking themselves why they have abandoned that child
I see how they raise twins, triplets, etc ... and then they turn out to be serial killers ...
in many plays I see mothers "rabbit" having 20 children in early camps
I see children looking for knives and trying to pick them up from the ground when they still have no age to pick up a weapon
I see people with bows loaded in the middle of the berry fields, doing nothing
I see children picking up essential items and running out of the city
I see many people murdering other murderers without asking because they have killed, what was the reason?

very common situations (unfortunately), but without anyone doing anything about it ...
and that's what I think should change in OHOL

I know there are many ways to harm a population (snowballs, bows, food theft, etc ...)
but if we want to survive we must be able to react quickly as a group

#472 Re: Main Forum » Lower the Donkey Town Requirement » 2019-02-11 18:00:50

Crazy Eddie, the problem is that anyone in this game can kill an entire lineage, without being aware of it
Example: a novice mother has many children in an early camp
this mother is a griefer ??? do not! he simply does not know what to do and is dedicated to taking care of his children and eating berries, but with this action he is starving the whole camp
we have to curse her for raising all her children ?? ... we really have to send her to donkeytown ?? I do not think ... but ... what do we do with all their children? these will continue to eat berries until all the food is finished ...

Here we can do several things:
1.- explain to the mother that she does not raise all her children
2.- kidnapping their children and starving them
3.- kill the mother noob
4. - curse the mother noob
5.- make more food (but it takes time)

6.- Do nothing and inevitably your lineage will die of hunger

I invite you to verify for yourself what the people of OHOL do in these situations ... you will be surprised !!
I tell him that people do not do anything! ... he continues to work is his things without concern ...
Sometimes they do not even create new sources of food! They will not even find food for the people who are working as a blacksmith! absolutely nothing!

some will be placing tiles in the desert ...
others will be eating berries at the berry farm ...
Maybe someone has gone to look for iron or is creating new iron tools in the smithy ...
with luck there will be some child placing soil (not looking for new land, but using it) in the berry bushes

That is the reality ... check it!

#473 Re: Main Forum » Lower the Donkey Town Requirement » 2019-02-11 17:35:20

BlueDiamondAvatar does not need to take a knife to eliminate a griefer (although it is the fastest and most effective way)

and I do not say that the current system of curses is useless, but it is not logical that every time we come across a griefer in a game we resort to hardening the requirements of DonkeyTown, but instead we are not able to kill the assassin instantly when is relaxed

I have asked before ... how many of those who are writing in this post, have created a hospital once? to create pads it is not necessary to know how to stab anyone, nor do they require great knowledge of anything ... to clean dirty pads, it is not necessary to be a pro-player, but nobody does it

this simple task causes the killer to kill no one (since the wounded can be healed) and the murderer gives himself away without creating any type of chaos or drama (someone who has skills to kill will end with the life of the griefer)
is effective and solves many problems ... but it requires using the logic and be effective in the tasks we perform

Do you want to make cakes? no problem, make cakes ..
Do you want to make cakes even if the city is full of dirty pads on the floor ?? ... no problem, keep making cakes ...
A griefer has nailed you the knife while making cakes ?? remember the pads are dirty and on the floor, and nobody did anything to fix it ...

austin_beale if you have arrived in Donkey Town 2 times ... surely you deserve to be there !!, I do not care what the motives are, but to send someone to Donkey Town 2 times many curses are required and surely you have been a grain in the ass

So the game should just be a guarding simulator? You expect players who can't even get passed the berry tending part of the game to defend themselves from someone whose only goal is to ruin all the work everyone else has put into the game? The game becomes a tedious game of whack a troll instead of a game about civ building. I've played guard for 12 hours straight and I not only promise you but guarantee it's not enjoyable to basically stand around and watch people. When you're stuck standing around keeping an eye on everyone in the village instead of doing what you planned on doing it becomes more of a job. "Well I can't bake this life because a griefer might start stabbing everyone." People are asking for the threshold to be lowered because even with everyone on the same server it's hard to get eight curses either way.

You have to be cautious and act with agility and speed, that's what I think is failing in the people of this game
I do not like to be a vigilate during 1 hour of play in case a griefer appears ... but if one appears, we must act and that is the problem ...
It seems that it has been assumed and it is assumed that there must be a griefer in all the towns and cities and nobody does anything ... it is as if people think:
Well, another crazy man with a knife / bow that killed all the women in the game ... but I'll keep making cakes ...
that is what is currently happening in OHOL

and meanwhile in the forums threads are created with a multitude of pages asking Jason to lower the requirements of Donkeytown, but nobody is able to create a bow and an arrow and burst the head to the griefer ...
because they must leave their comfort to continue creating cakes, or to be the blacksmith, etc ...

when people see a corpse full of blood on the ground, some ask ... What happened? ... but as soon as people go to their tasks, nobody remembers even to curse ...

bears is another big problem that nobody does anything to avoid ... I was born in a multitude of towns that have been exterminated by bears, and nobody does anything (when I say this means that they do not even move from the village to avoid being bitten)

People have become zombies, robots programmed to do the same thing over and over again without reasoning!

Let's face it, the mechanics of the curses only serve (more or less) for future plays of the Griefer, but meanwhile the Griefer is still living among us ... or we act or we extinguish ourselves at the hands of an idiot

and remember that the griefers will ALWAYS be in the games, although we lower the requirements to send them to Donkeytown.

besides the murderers are easy to detect, but there are many ways to kill an entire civilization, without the need to hold a knife ... and almost all the ways to kill a people happen for the same reason, because people are asleep and he does not realize the real problems

in the same way that when you have many children in an early stage, that lineage dies due to famine, this is another clear example that people are asleep and do NOTHING to avoid it ... they will continue to be born children and take care of them even if only There are 3 bushes of berries throughout the camp

a simple question ??, who of those who are reading this have created a hospital sometime ?? who have created pads and needle thread to sew wounds and place them in a safe place and within reach of all to avoid injuries? and more important ... who have seen dirty pads on the floor and have dedicated themselves to cleaning them or creating more pads ??

curiously this is a task that I do in almost all big cities, because nobody does it ... everyone is doing other tasks "more important" but when the serial killer arrives ... you have to create a new post in the forum and ask Jason to review the curses ...

now what i see is people wearing crown and "im the leader of this camp", "whe should fix the pen" but they never even start working on it, just chat about it 20 minutes, die, the pen isnt finished 9 generations later
while newbies are like: there are no berries, lets plant more and fuck you for not letting it, im an expert berriologist

+1

I'm tired of seeing people in these forums write stories about serial killers and read that nobody does anything to avoid it

guys, if someone walks for 15 minutes with a loaded bow in a city or camp when it is not necessary and fills the belly with berries ... someone will be killed shortly.

If someone carries a knife in strange movements and approaches people ... someone will be killed shortly.

If a bear appears in the city, do not continue composting as if nothing had happened

If all the cakes in a city disappear, do not continue making cakes like a fool

In every game I play there is a griefer, some more novices and others more experts who get rid of whole lineages
But NO ONE does anything to prevent it, I think people are too lazy to create a bow and arrow, or to crap a knife or just to pick up some snowballs and get rid of the annoying ones.

It seems that players rely too much on cursing someone ...
the curses only serve when the evil is already done, and even then it does not work unless the griefer is very cheeky and colorful

The truth is that this game is a reflection of our zombie society

lately I am seeing an augment of the griefers in all my plays, but what bothers me most is to see the players asleep and idiots doing nothing

Sometimes I want to be the zombie killer!
