Eve's far from each other meant that there was no competition for ressources, now that everyone is closer ressources should be used a lot faster in a given area.

Ressources are still pretty much unlimited at the moment but it's a step closer to a game where your actions have real consequences : https://onehouronelife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?id=63

I wouldn't call it unlimited. The iron race is REAL right now.

From my understanding that spiral will now continue onto itself instead of moving at the end of it. So yes a spiral still, but one that should only reset location with updates. I think it will start over at the oldest lineage like it does now.

Ive noticed that if you only snowball one particular person in a village and nobody else, they tend to not give a shit and let you do it to them. Start hitting everyone and thats when they break out the curses.

Also i have battled carrot griefer man before. If you make him run into the jungle with a cart full of stuff you win. They act like its impossible to go get it without getting stung.

#480 Re: Main Forum » Hey Jason, this is still an issue and I won't shut up. » 2019-05-12 22:02:48

If theres ever a snow bank nearby when that happens just try to snowball them constantly. Eventually they will chase you because your annoying them. Have them chase you towards snow bank, disarm if needed with snow and stab. You should be far enough not to get any curse.

Well the world isn't jumping around like crazy now and I'm happy about that

This update has encouraged me to travel outside the village even more than I used to before. I'm eating a lot more out of town, and finding all kinds of loot from bodies. I have also built two roads, one to a well and one to oil. I still haven't learned the diesel engine yet though. I dont want to.

#482 Re: Main Forum » Marriage & Babies » 2019-05-12 04:35:59

I think were getting something along those lines soon. He added a preg belly, so maybe there will be a way to have a child with someone as the father.

Maybe they could be mixed race and bilingual. We'll see.

#483 Re: Main Forum » Man I love this game! » 2019-05-12 01:54:25

I'm thinkin I'm coming back tonight from this update. Ive been working 16 hour days lately until my two week notice with one job is done, but I can sacrifice one of my eight sleep hours to play.

Half adobe bases built under a property fence would be a good two stage defense. You can slap a fence down, and In case nobody passes the fence down or maintains it, the adobe's will be still there to block.

I support this new map change and have been wanting it for awhile now. YOU HAVE ONE SHOT to make the best of your life and the actions you take have more impact on the world. You now will have always been, and it will have ripple effects on everything. Every single thing now matters and there are not millions and millions of the same thing to be exploited at will everytime. Every dug rock, every iron bar, they all have more worth and meaning. I can even accept the well idea now if we actually can all utilize it together.

Currently 200.

What do you suggest?  40?

200 actually doesn't seem that crazy, right?  5 villages away.

Id go with 50 or 100

Well you can always plant random seeds and see what takes without even caring for it. It might be a better thing for say things like squash, but I've seen some strawberries grow without too much care. They were tiny, but they still grew in an old mans garden i knew and he hardly ever tended that thing.

I was going to ask a coworker that speaks pigeon to translate that, but I was afraid it might have been something that would make him chokeslam me haha.

250 bones and 2 empty buckets..

and 9 buckets filled with latex. They got one step into the pump and didn't finish them.

Spoon, the end of water in one physical location doesn't mean the end of a lineage.  The lineage can move.  What, they're going to say, "Pump died, now we'll all just stand here and die?"

Yes they will do exactly that jason. I would rather suicide than try to eve next to somewhere where there isn't ground iron.. and I never suicide.. but I know what's pointless and a complete waste of time.

Some people dont want to eve, and now you are throwing them into that scenario. Also any dead town found by an eve is now going to be worthless.

You dont make families matter more by making villages pointless.

thats absolutely no true, you can still migrate. Nothhing ever stops you to find a swamp and raise you family there for few gens.

I know some people are into the nomad thing, but not me.

We really all could all forge off wild foods and grow to be 60 with ease. When there was that broken update a couple months ago, where every object disappeared and there was no point to build anything, I had a family go 10 gens being nomadic.

The point of a town is not to have to be a nomad. Towns already die enough from resources (most renewable)that run dry. You might as well have every village that makes and uses a pump have a 1/20 chance of being invaded by unkillable bears everytime. Youd see the same effect.

#494 Re: Main Forum » VOG water pump survey » 2019-05-06 22:19:23

Im glad I'm taking a break from this game right now.. Sounds like all kinds of jank is goin on.

You're only as strong as your weakest link, and you've just made everyone double time to try and be faster and stronger.. but we still have the weak link of people that dont know the tech.

If your seriously making the diesel pump the ONLY thing that can keep a village from dehydration, and therefore basically forcing me to learn that ONE piece of tech, then I think I quit.

Well, knives are "fine cutter" and do different things.  You wouldn't really dig a hole with a knife... would make it dull.  Sharp stone is a crude cutter.  Can't skin an animal, etc.

As a fellow gardener, you might appreciate that one of my tools I use to mix soil to a perfect consistency is a bayonet from the Korean war.

Now that knife can dig a hole, but its an exception.

In general, a kinfe should be able to do almost all the things a sharp stone can do IMO.

I feel like people are still going to settle in swamps as long as springs are in grasslands/swamps (even with lowered rates) because at the end of the day why look for any of the other biomes springs unless it's at a mixed biome location?

Agreed.

Make ponds have the same spawn characteristics of springs too and you'll see a better result.

#500 Re: Main Forum » Another biome specialization idea » 2019-04-27 06:12:47

I told you, if you DO add eve specialities you would see something good. HOWEVER I dont think you need to biome lock people.

I am eve blank..I choose to blank
What ever is chosen is now given a bonus or rare item only that profession can make. Or both.

You'll see the same affect without changing the complete scheme of thing.
