I think most of it doesn't really explain much lot of disconnected stuff more like a folk tale.
Most of the more modern religions try to teach some sort of way of living to their followers.
The older ones tend to have interplay between the God figures themselves to try to teach lessons about interpersonal relationships or to try to explain the state of the world.

I think it lacked any sort of plot. There wasn't really any conflict other than MAYBE the brother sister thing with the blood.
But then again the brother suffers no consequences for being tricked so it is kinda just a let down.
