As well as roleplaying being married.

*raises hand* I've done that, many times. In fact just tonight I married my sister and was a father to her kids - well, two of them... the other five were Jeff's kids, when we were on a break.

Full story-- we flirted a little as kids. She wanted sex, so we did it behind a tree. Not much later she had a daughter. She got mad because I wasn't paying for childcare, so after that kid we took a break. I lied to her about some other girl I was seeing so she hooked up with Jeff to get back at me. With Jeff she had four braindead sons that suicided almost instantly, and one who survived, my stepson. A bit later I saved her from mosquitoes and then told her that she should hook back with me if she wanted daughters, because Jeff was only giving her sons. Then we went behind the tree again, and that was our way of making up with each other. A bit later she had her second daughter and died, so I raised the daughter (this does tie back to fathers you guys). Her daughter ended up being the last girl, since my eldest daughter died young. She had grandchildren who I cooed over. I ended up burying my wife/sister with a rose. I also wrote a note about us and hid it behind our bang tree for grandkids to find.

Yeah but visually separatable from regular fur clothing ofc.

Yeah, it could be more copper than the rabbit shirt

They are, but it's harder (and more dangerous) to get a bear coat than a seal coat, hence the reward of a heat bonus

Ok, hear me out.

A. Following the heat update, we could use warmer craftable clothing. So you could wear a bearskin over your normal clothes

B. It's more useful then having, like, 50 bearskin rugs on the ground

C. We can already wear wolf and mouflon and rabbit skins so it makes sense.

D. It would look RAD and I would 100% wear it... and then sneak up on ppl and be like "RAWR I'M A BEAR"

Whenever a player dies, the player will leave a dead corpse behind, instead of leaving bones.
After a while the corpse will vanish and become bones.

You can use a knife on a corpse to get skin and meat.
Babies give less meat and less skin than adults.

You then can make clothes and masks out of the skin.
You can make a hat out of baby skin.
You can make a mask from adult skin, if you wear this mask your face will look like the dead person.

If you eat too much human flesh, it should have some side effects.
Maybe you get a crazy face expression that you cant change and or get poisoned.

What do you think?
Is this a great idea? How can it be even better?

Drama queen:
only plays as girl
wanders around the camp, looking and begging for clothing and knife
raises babies while eating
generally provokes someone then spends her life to curse that person and convince his kids to curse
at 40 either dies or runs around telling people to bury her.

Baby assassin:
sees a kill, spends his life to snipe a player out, and that reason justifies for him to not work 30-40 minutes, generally kills a few more.

Roleplay doctor: saves everyone, saves the griefers multiple times
generally just makes pads all her life denying wool clothing and compost

The always late:
does everything the camp needs, just too late
generally asks for knife to be a sheperd, but is too slow so someone needs to do it properly, then he claims he is the shepherd
if you make a cart, he takes it in 2 seconds, if you make a farm plants random things into it
if you bring a branch , he makes kindling out of it
if you ever question it, he either preaches about how this is a community, to justify taking everything as "sharing" or starts insulting you

The feminazi:
starves boys, even kills them, tells people to kill based on gender.

Pedro the kidnapper:
grabs babies and runs away with them, he is naked all his life, generally makes a bow but pretty easy t dodge, he denies everything.

The "baker"
takes every cart, every box, every rope to the 'kitchen"
makes pies from whatever
fires up oven for 3 pies even
does this any life, every life, any level of civilization

The "hunter"
her mom tells her he needs to hunt, even names him that way
he spends his life killing pigs and bringing back pig meat, and running around in city with a bow
generally kills someone by accident

The royal:
Spends 30 minutes to make a crown then walk around  the city
generally gives another crown to a random baby girl
Kills anyone who has problem with it and starts cursing.
Causes half of the population to stop working.
Generally talks 20 minutes about what should be done but never gets done anything.

The survivor:
can eat, that's it. Survives anytime, anywhere, hides food for herself behind trees.

The task follower:
Can get anything from anywhere, but cant see the bigger picture so needs constant instructions. Can spend his life doing the same thing: getting firewood, getting clay, branches, iron, rabbit etc.

Carrot waterer: if seeds seeds plants them and waters them, never returns to the spot to pick them out, generally does this 3-4 times a life.

The stew maker: makes stew every time, every life, explains stew, even without a crock, takes the kindling from the forge to make stew, makes only crocks at forge, people kill each other or no soil? he just makes stew

Overly attached girl:
Goes for asking a job and follows a person around all life,  learns a job then does it for the full life. teaches her kids to do that job only. I seen quite a few nice ones who yell "uncle " every time they see you, and "we are ranchers" when sees a sheep. They are pretty nice.

Headless horsemen:
Just takes a horse and runs around with it all life. Similar to crown makers. No use of them and just occupies a tool from others.

The abandoned kid: left alone cause expects her mother will carry her all her childhood, generally saved by some older dude. Spends 40 minutes to make a marked grave even if others die around her. Spends the rest of time eating berry and gearing kids with clothes she didn't made.

The grave digger: brings back bones to camp and digs them, generally in a big box shaped graveyard. Destroys multiple shovels cause needs to "bury my cousins and ancestors ". The whole camp starves in meantime.  steps on a snake bringing back flat rocks.

You forgot "The Curmudgeon"
- Spends his life working, saves the town multiple times but is ignored. Harbors grudge against everyone in the village except his mother, whom he buries in a quiet place. The Curmudgeon has a tendency to wind up as the last man standing.
(The Curmudgeon is me a lot of the time, but on the flip side sometimes I decide to rp and end up getting virtually no work done)

#517 Re: Main Forum » What's the crappiest town you've ever seen? » 2019-02-24 00:28:30

There was a crappy one a few days ago... we had barely any food. Farm was dying, half our tools had been hidden, people huddled by the fire as wood and food dwindled. The Newcomen pump had gone dry. Barely any of us survived; luckily the ones of us that did were smart (natural selection lol) and so we turned the town around.

#520 Re: Main Forum » Would maps be possible? » 2019-02-21 03:10:33

That sounds cool. You could do:
skewer + full bucket of (red/yellow/blue) paint = bucket of (red/yellow/blue) paint - 1
Blue paint + yellow paint could make green paint, skewer + green paint + paper = marks your location with a blob of green for grassland
Blue could be swamp, mark your location with a swamp place
Yellow could be the rabbit place
Milk paint w/out pigment = tundra
Mix of all three paints = black paint? for the iron biome
Red paint could = the horse and snake place
You could fill the map by moving around and then plotting your location on diff parts of the map (start location would be in the middle) and with diff colors... this is all a little rough draft-y but it sounds like it would be cool

STATE OF NEW MEXICO
COUNTY OF CHAVES
MAGISTRATE COURT

Chase

vs.

Jason C Rohrer

Davis, California

COMPLAINT FOR FALSE ADVERTISING AND FRAUD

Parties
The defendant Jason C Rohrer is a game developer and sells access to his game server and lives in Davis California.

The plaintiff is Chase          and purchased access to Jason C Rohrer’s game server.

VENUE AND JURISDICTION
Venue in this court is proper as the injuries to the Plaintiff occurred within the County of Chaves New Mexico and the defendant regularly seek to avail themselves of the subject jurisdiction for the purposes of obtaining additional clients and/or providing services to existing clients, including marketing on a national game site www.steam.com and the internet directed to consumers in the USA and specifically New Mexico. Subject matter in this action is properly heard in this Court, as the action incorporates an amount in controversy as set forth in this complaint does not exceed $10,000.00. At all times mentioned herein, New Mexico Long Arm Statue, were in full force and effect, and were binding upon Defendant, because of the crimes committed on the plaintiff while living in the state and because of the defendants and their agents marketing and selling the product which the plaintiff was harmed by in Chaves County state of New Mexico. Minimum contact is also met by the criteria set by zippo vs zippo and Calder v. Jones, 465 U.S. 783 (1984), in cases with insufficient interactivity or minimum contacts, but where an action is targeted at a particular forum.

FACTS COMMON TO ALL CAUSES OF ACTION

The plaintiff purchased access to the game server One Hour One Life at http://onehouronelife.com/ for  $20.00. The game was advertised on Steam and other internet platforms as a civilization building and child rearing game. The game is neither of the things it is advertised to be. There is no way to ‘build a civilization’ because one player can never see get back to the spot they were building without anything but luck. The game also expounds itself to be focused on child rearing, and claims you can teach your children the game basis. This is not possible because the fast rate the of hunger, the player is left doing hardly anything except finding food to stay alive for the one hour of life they get.

After purchasing access to the server and finding out this game is not what it advertises to be, the plaintiff contacted the creator/developer by the email given by him and asked for a refund. The plaintiff was ignored. Since the plaintiff was already  invested in the game anyway to just play it instead of making a big fuss.

Less than one month after purchase of the game and requesting a refund, the developer and defendant chose to ‘update’ the game without proper warning making the hunger problem even worse and furthering the gap between what was advertised and what was received.

See Exhibit 1

CAUSE OF ACTION
Fraudulent Advertising Resulting In Monetary Loss
Plaintiff incorporates by reference the allegations contained in the above paragraphs, and each and every part thereof with the same force and effect as though set out at length herein. Plaintiff was subjected to the above referenced conduct including false advertising and fraud. As a direct and proximate result of Defendants unlawful conduct, Plaintiff has suffered special damages to be proven at time of trial. As a direct and proximate result of Defendants unlawful conduct, Plaintiff has suffered general damages including but not limited to shock, stress, financial loss and other damages to be proven at the time of trial. Plaintiff is informed and believes, and thereupon alleges, that Defendants, and each of them, committed the acts herein alleged maliciously and oppressively in conscious disregard for the Plaintiff and other paying customers. Plaintiff is entitled to recover punitive damages in an amount according to proof and totaling $1,000.00.

As a result of the conduct of Defendants, their agents, and each of them, Plaintiff was forced to file this complaint in order to protect their finances. Accordingly, Plaintiff seeks the reasonable attorneys fees incurred in this litigation in an amount according to proof at trial and other relief as requested in Plaintiff’s prayer for relief below. Plaintiff requests an injunction against Defendant to prohibit the sale of their product in the United States.

WHEREFORE,

Plaintiff prays for relief as set forth below.
A. Special damages in a sum according to proof against all Defendants totaling $400.00;
B. General damages in a sum according to proof against all Defendants totaling $400.00;
C. For attorney's fees as allowed by law against all Defendants;
D. Costs of suit and for such other and further relief as the court deems proper against Defendants;
E. For punitive damages against all Defendants totaling $180.00;
F. For financial reimbursement of the service of $20.00
H. For any product or service provided by the defendants or their agents to be taken off the American market because of the fraudulent advertising to consumers and the conduct of the people handling the product.

Respectfully submitted,
Chase XXXXXXX pro se

It takes a special kind of person to sue someone who has devoted much of his time to make a damn good game, all on his own. If you don't like a game update, stop playing and screw off. I don't even know how people like you justify themselves.

Booklat1 wrote:

So, the entire reason this update even came to be was because Jason asked in this forum about clothing.
We gave a lot of suggestions and the ones concerning heat were mostly added. I'm making this post as an attemp for people to give their ideas about how clothes are balanced in this new update and new features we can get concerning them.

I'm particularly interested in knowing what you guys think about the changes this update caused. We're seeing more rabbit trapping and fires, that's for sure, also many corpses everywhere. Backpacks and aprons were hit the most, I think, and I doubt this will change since we have other priorities now like getting a large enough amount of skins for a few people to work better. I think a lot of people have it right that clothing should help a little more with heat too. People have been griefing rabbits aswell.

I suggest loom made bags and a rehaul to most clothes so that instead of heat they help you to the middle temp (just not much). Seal coats would get buffed as heat producing clothing. Also all skins decay. I would also like a buff to dyed clothing, like not decaying directly into rags and maybe more colours (though by no means a priority lol)

what do you all think?

There should be clothes that are harder to make but benefit their wearer, give them that extra heat bonus; if more professional players don't want to stay by the town fires they should be able to put the skill into making clothes that enable them to travel to cold places....
Something that counters the desert's heat would be nice, though it doesn't necessarily need to be clothes (in fact, I don't think clothes would work in that scenario at all)

Has anyone been born into a camp with a "milkmaid"? This has happened to me twice over the past few hours.

All the women in the camp drop their babies at a fire, where a single woman feeds and clothes them all. I like the idea of freeing up women to work, but I am pretty sure that being a milkmaid would be pretty dang boring. Is this a new role with the temperature update? Or is this just a roleplay that a few users have adopted?

It's become more important now since there are more babies being born in the same town... it's a bit boring but a good job for newer players who have not yet learned the skills to make themselves useful in other ways. And, yeah, rpers. big_smile

#525 Re: Main Forum » An Open Letter About The New Update » 2019-02-18 14:35:11

This update makes it pretty hard to both start a camp and maintain a village. Even fully clothed I have noticed that your hunger drops quickly.. for those of us who want to be warm as possible and have the skills to make warm clothes, maybe you could do a long sleeved woolen shirt (huge ball of yarn + small ball of yarn?)
Maybe the purpose of this update was Jason telling us to stop acting like idiots and put some damn clothes on. There are a lot less nude-butts in towns now, although it does give rpers an opportunity to be a scandalous old man/woman and strip big_smile
