rimworld is shit graphics

I'm doing ck3 lately, is quite fun, not multi, but can be, just a bit harder to set up and you need your own friends. The genetics, events and randomness are quit funny.

I think one issue is that the game provides no true goals and no competition/rewards, so being toxic is one way to play, the game doesn't see if something is bad or annoys others.

#77 Re: Main Forum » Coming soon: get reborn to your descendants after living to old age » 2020-12-01 19:36:53

I think it's a good change

I had a bit different suggestion:
teams. so you won't go back to one family but one of many, and families are fixed in teams, this would make wars and alliances possible, and helping any family would help your team and indirectly you. would still provide variety. tams would be remade each week or so. nott sure if there is enough players to do so.

yay, someone using plots big_smile desmos is cool, loved plotting in the baby fire and bell running with no bells
also, I think the galaxy style family migrations were plotted this way

what are these bands? eves spawn in lines now? haven't played in a long time.

#80 Re: Main Forum » After Death Ghost Spectating - They are... Among Us » 2020-11-20 03:50:09

maybe put a delay to prevent cheating the system. Like after half an hour you would get to see what happened. But that would mean recording it so it's not so good. Would give a reason for graves, people could pretend they cared.

#81 Re: Main Forum » Spoonwood - review » 2020-11-20 03:45:19

I member when spoon said something blatantly stupid and I called upon it (not once but this time was big), he was twisting and turning and saying weird shit he doesn't even understand but tries to sell it as a universal truth. He throws in a few big words and most people actually think he is smart because of it but his logical patterns are questionable.  I don't know why he is doing things he does, like keeping the activity up or engage in conversations, which is a good thing, and you can just ignore him when you don't care. Arguing is pointless anyway, and he goes cringe a lot of times. Jason admitted already that he will be partial to people who say nice things like simp daddy twisted makes his anus rose shiny every day, and will ignore others if they oppose him, just like how uncharacteristically nice was to Fug until he realized he is Tarr.
He has a repetitive style and not too flexible on his opinions, so he can be annoying, but you can't do much about it.

Don't feed the trolls, doesn't worth your gooseberries.

#82 Re: Main Forum » Wow, trading is a prefect system with rich dynamics! » 2020-11-20 03:26:10

Can relate, I was bringing all the shit needed for oil, I refreshed a city for 6 hours, I made a bell, third in the world.
Took me 10 minutes of telling them to bring shit and then the only ginger girl came with us, made a fire in the ice and went back saying 'hello'. And I even had some enthusiastic whites to translate. If you can't do it you don't do it, if you can do it, you already done it, no need to tell you. The leader system is crap, if you got time to become a leader, you already got the wrong priorities.

#83 Re: Main Forum » No Vision for New Players » 2020-11-20 03:19:05

discord logs are okayish but the game changes so much you can't follow, also Jason went on a crazy run on solving inexistent problems, crating others. For example, you could make duels official, a good example is Frostpunk, where you can solve problems in a fighting arena, but a lot of sci-fi movies feature arenas as an important part of society. Like 'The 100'. Anyway, instead of forcing people to deal with leadership and all the nonsense, it could be a way to settle differences with a duel of skill. Invite someone to fight, and set a wager, the winner goes forward, the loser bends the knee. And it doesn't have to be deadly, it was just the only choice. PVP was a fun element, and I would argue that is was rigged for the defender's favour, then only to the attacker's favour, now is a stupid vote out, the lines between good and evil is not so clear, just like irl, no one will admit that they are the bad guy and often times both sides got valid points.

But the lack of skill needed also shows in the game, no points, no clear accomplishments, no respect to others. You fed the town for years but they curse you anyway, shit like that what kills the mood, then you argue about leadership. So you got dumb people 'leading' others but it's just a bureaucratic mess.

There is also no honour, loyalty, and you can't expect to be, it's the internet with trolls and kids. The game should provide propr systems to social features, like a proper election screen for leaders, protection against thieves and trolls, or at least a skill-based duel system. Did you take my shovel? there is no proof who made it, and I got no way to take it back. It's rigged to favour the trolls who cum when others struggle. When you care you lose, a troll will run around with a horse watching you die so you got to play his game and not yours. Overcomplicated fences with no real value and stuff like that.

Also, it would be fun to have some loyalty and continuity. Mobas are an example, players play 10000 hours on the same map, but the game is about to fight and reach a goal. Or even rust has a way to reset things. Sure, it's an rpg with death and raising kids, but it could be some minigame between lives. Like LOL does with rune pages and cosmetic stuff, we could also have achievements and skins and unlockable character models.
But the main thing I would like is the teams. In a game called Football superstars was this feature. You had 4 clubs, you could join them and compete, you were on a contract but lower placed teams gave you more money, and money upgraded your gear and training abilities.
Sam could be done for OHOL, you don't spawn in the same family but the same group of people. So for example team Red has one of each skin tone, then gets a new one when one dies out. Same for team Blue. You would need to join red or blue, and would give more life tokens or other rewards choosing the underdog, or simply would just place you automatically (maybe one single swap or a friend system determining where you go). Now every life in red would help red families and hurt blue ones, you got clear allies and clear enemies. You would have no choice on mind games and betrayal and griefing, you are stuck with what you got. And if you work to improve, it helps you indirectly.

Also, the world could be different, like Albion online for example, clear borders, renewable resources. Of course, you don't care when all dies in a day. "Everything runs out' is a shitt concept, even ONI realized it, they changed so you can get water and oxygen in different ways, only itts nott so optimally for go to rust before you got saltwater or you need setup for tree planting before you do etanol, etc. There should be parallel techs to do the same thing so the optimal strategy is always dynamic. Also, the main focus should be time and work, not resources. Right now your time doesn't worth shit, you consume so your life is even a negative value. You don't live, you survive, cause you don't matter much in the process of creation. If you don't do it, someone else will, resources are fixed, distance grows, all die out and you move, but you only stay afloat, you don't really create. If you would have expensive things to turn resources into, and always a need for more work and workers, population and work would be a positive thing, sure, it could be turn-based like, or limited by a stamina bar, resting and interacting could be also valuable, like a short winter, every 45 minutes lasting 15 min where you got low chances of creating profit so you got to be indoors and do other jobs, like food preparation and static jobs. So more environmental hazards, more static work more time to do a job. Each item should convert into something else and back. A good example is Surviving mars, where rocks got a side product which is garbage for a long time but later can be used to crat concrete and becomes valuable after a tech gate. So everything runs out but scales and converts, your water comes from the atmosphere and with the right upgrades it's more than what drilling gives, and jobs are first essential but later is just a distraction, and creating energy is using workers, so you just store it and you basically can afford activities that would be too expensive before.
A simple mobile game can do this better than ohol: match 3 items to make a bigger one, it's just more space-efficient, but gives you a higher tier item and it goes on and on, you always have a goal, a need, a purpose, never enough resources, only your time and focus matters, cover basic needs and then create excess. Things should be hard but differently. Like housing should be important, the clay would be always available butt should run through a lot of work before you make adobe and bricks and build a house from it, not that you gather in a half-life, and others use it up in 10 seconds. Sure, it could be fast to build a house but you would have a stamina bar, you would need to rest or get help to process resources and it would be more fun than going 10 minutes to gather basic stuff which is one step away from a house. OHOL would need way more static jobs and less time consuming transport and collecting.

#84 Re: Main Forum » kill the sheep » 2020-11-05 21:43:26

communistic shit never worked. a town of 95 people you couldn't track down killers and punish them, but also you couldn't work from trolls and wannabees.
A lot of towns di out cause hey got wrong priorities, i saw a single grandma feeding a bunch of lazy noobs and it was doomed to fail. In the end its just simple math. You got to focus on the tech upgrades asap. Its better to let some die than to fight the inevitable. And a backpack on a smart person worth more than sheepskin on everyone.

#85 Re: Main Forum » Wooden Shoes Over Wood Flooring » 2020-11-05 21:32:14

i really hate them, people cut your only green leaf tree to make a single shoe

#86 Re: Main Forum » Why does no one use property fencing for its intended purpose? » 2020-11-05 21:15:55

i was only able to remove 7-8 pieces of the fence from 55 to 60, its just too complex, Jason doesn't care, it should be easier to remove parts of it like maybe it should be just points that would auto-connect and remove one tile would remove all side.

there are no static activities really, why you would need to do something somewhere? machines, bonuses? people make kitchens, rarely smithies, not much reason to build something everlasting when you die
resources aren't expensive enough, there is this new trend in mobile games, put three things together to make a bigger one, its a simple concept but its fun, because it has tiers, requirements, goals, uses. easy to scale them. doesn't have to be factorio level scaling, just a hyper-expensive item, made out of cheaper ones, and a reason to build it. For example, the world would end in a timer, you would have a win condition, build an item and move to the other side of a mountain, leave the planet, whatever.  a constant need of making things.

living 1 hour and having no loyalty is on big thing. If you would have to be loyal to a group for a week, things that you make would make sense, it would be a deathmatch over generations to make your group the best. Some sort of auto-grouping and re-balancing. Like life tokens, you would get more tokens joining a weak group, maybe some inter-life rewards. small things that would give an advantage or cosmetics. Or temporary cosmetics, like 1 week in a group and reaching max rewards would give full body tattoos or some special item recipe.

Some sort of point system or economic system. Owning land around a city would cost you money per month, but you could make money and use it to get special items, then fences would make sense, but then again it would just be better with pre-defined sizes of space.
You either need a machine to do a certain job, which otherwise is slower/impossible, so buildings mak more sense or other penalties that occur outside of fences.

#88 Re: Main Forum » What would a city of 50 people look like? » 2020-08-16 07:03:14

There was several of them

First I remember was West town, the first city ever to create likee 100 berry bushes
it just got neeerfed and it was very rare before having so much so it lasted a long time, the pop was around 40-60 all the time

Then it was clayton family, we still were on the eve spiral, it was a weird looking town, was there quite early but people were blocking each other a lot
we couldn't manage to make proper setups
the pop was 95 at onee time
we tried to dig out bushes and starve some girls but the noobs didn't let us
the forge was near a snow pile and snowball kills were still a thing, so we killed around 10 idiots to be able to make tools
nobody cared cause it was just too much

I remember I was somehow able to make a cart and upgrade with rubber wheels, that was the highest tech in town, and I got killed for mentioning that I made that, it was a mess. there was a stupid berry line 4x3x3, they even planted it together, we managed to dig out some, then make roads between but then they planted more, eventtually was like 8x3x3 and wasn't enough, and was so hard tto maintain when there was no compost and no waatter. and people were still dumb for sheep so itt was hardcore crazy

In the rift, the best town was mine, it was before the oil was on grid, so it had 2 near each other
it was the 8 day rift, first I settled NE and fixed up a town before people could move in and survive, took me like 3 full lives. then some people stole stuff and moved 200 to left, when It decayed I was an eve and just moved 40 to the right and made new well, fortress, around 25x20 fence. the raiders got my fam, I was coming back as my own grandkid and I was the sole survivor of that massacre. I saved a black eve who instantly had 5 kids. it was a small setup but everything inside, pen, well, oven, some space for the forge. still got 2 photos of it. the next ay was still going strong, fenced up, engine made, oil made. eventually I had to scavenge 7 cities for all thee broken tools to make new engine, to get oil, to get iron from mines. I dropped 200 iron on the 6th day when jason was on the vacation. it was crazy stupid at the end, people cut everything, killed everyone several times. eventually everything was full of corpses, bears, locked buildings and no fire.

#89 Re: Main Forum » . » 2020-08-16 06:42:20

I said 'give back my paver' he said to them to give back my paper. you can't fix idiots

other  time, a ginger needed 5 minutes to be convinced to come with us, then she made a fire in the ice and left us

if peeople can't do it they won't do it, if they  can do it, they need no translation

#90 Re: Main Forum » Meme score.... » 2020-08-04 05:43:41

yeah total utter trash, at least before it gave some score for playing

now is a lottery you don't have control about at all

and does who complain about score farming are big idiots, it should be totally possible to exclude others and gain points, it's not always easy or fun to do so, I don't understand whats the problem with gaining score differently than the main boring style, a few people like to play like that, make foods raise kids, everyone else is punished for not liking this forced and boring style

#91 Re: Main Forum » A Peace Emote that makes it so you can't kill » 2020-08-03 05:45:39

I dont mind necroed threads as long as it's somewhat relevant.

the main problems here:
-as long s you need others, peace is always better, there will be some trolls or meme wars but it will not be anything of interest to most people
-too hard to see why you are at war or if you are at a war
-no goals to archieve, no resources to steal, no way a war would be profitable
-you can steal stuff anyway
-families dont't have an identity and everything looks the same
-you would rather have war with similar colour people than others
-whites are useless

instead of meme mechanics that are overly complicated and don't reflect reality, we need proper game mechanic based rules and features.
meme score hardly reflects the skill at the game, most leaders are fairly dumb, and that's because you don't need much brain for meme score farming, just patience and luck. I don't even want to take part in this followers mess cause I can't see it trough.
there is no real reason to be a leader.

#92 Re: Main Forum » Notice about account details shared publicly (account pools, twitter) » 2020-08-02 21:44:32

lol when jason introduced the rift with 256x256 or whatever size I told him it won't work, he said 'wait and see first', didn't lasted 3 hours and was changed

I think a size of 6kx6k would have been better, or some ways to gett trough barriers, I liked rift for one reaosn: getting back to old places
butt it had too many problems from the small size and ron renewable resources. also going back to places was weird cause people blocked me out from my own city i built for 3 hours before letting the public use it

#93 Re: Main Forum » Why are the numbered names gone? » 2020-08-02 21:40:00

that was actually very long ago

I was on complaining about and reported it

eve names were annoying cause people mistaked long lineages and locations, so it was misleading and ruined the expolaration too, you could been in same named same colour familyand you got nothing to do with their original camp

I didn't enjoy this bob cults either

the other problem was the log files where you could be "hope iv jones xviii" or 'hope iii pie' or hope pie ii' and the logs had no delimiters so the A B C D format was sometimes A B sometimes A C B sometimes A B D so it's also a mess with non unique names

#95 Re: Main Forum » Changes to Feast Table » 2020-07-25 04:19:00

still not trade but theft and donation. likely someone will make one and people stteal the same rose and the same bottle until eternity.

#96 Re: Main Forum » good content tbh (does trade already exist?) » 2020-07-25 04:15:57

you would need some drastic changes for trade to happen.

kinda weird like road making machine has no upkeeep and goes forever unless touched. also weird that can be desstroyed afterwards.
some things are way too fast, other things are slow and not meaningful.

woodcutting goes too fast and th value is nothing almost. wood could be more important and mroe work with it so you can st up workstations.

no resource sinks, you can produce more but you cant use it up. in an ideal world you would have always excess in some area.
but he only focuses on food producing and heat, food is too much, heat is meaningless.

trad wont happen like this, too much transportation, no secure transactions, thievery is not punished at all, is even incentivized.
player time is evaluated at zero. players seem to be just an observer. food upkeep is presen but nothing you do is too important. we far ahead the tech knowledge limit, we dont need to wait a baker or a smith to advance.
population is more of a down side not something you need.
resources are convertted way too fast.

the premise of one hour really limits longevity and tthe ambiion of making things. but itts not hard to make things, its jus hard to gather.

trade should be automated, sped up a bit. prices shuld be fixed or based on input/outtput, sttrengthen the sandbox style.
automation to be added so things can be made faster.

reesource sinks that convert rsources intto higher tier, expensive stuff.
some sort of secure transactions and secure ownership. like buy a territory, own everything there, pay rent. maybe some sort of in-between-life value , that is not overhelming but would allow to gain something.

i dontt like the social changes, leadership is boring and won solve much. curses never worked, posse is idiotic. skill based activities were killed. meme score forces a boring playstyle.

#97 Re: Main Forum » Best crops and setup for sprinklers? » 2020-07-21 02:46:16

can the plough turn? if not I hardly see any setup other than a straight line

miskas calculated that you need at least 17 tiles to make it worth on the usage, other than the initial investment

if it can turn then you would need to do a square setup to decrease distances, cover more space and make harvesting easier.

haven't played so I don't know how it works exactly

i imagine some clover shape rails would look nice and decently effective on usage and collection

#98 Re: Main Forum » Dead towns, dead towns, more dead towns » 2020-07-20 21:26:14

the oher thing is markers. im pretty good on meemorizing locations, but the families change quickly. i mapped out a diamond shape map, 4 big cities in almost equal distances. whites were actually just left side of it, but no one noticed because no expert waystone to them. so you cant find them even if you would want to.

translation is overrated, there are people who can do it and the ones who not. not like you need to remind them, if they could do it they would already done it. spent so much time telling people what they should do its just plain annoying, regardles of the language.

#99 Re: Main Forum » Dead towns, dead towns, more dead towns » 2020-07-20 06:02:04

lot of people enjoy stealing shit. "scavenging" they sya. it happened in the rift already, people stole my shit and hoard it around instead making it by themselves. like moving a half town, tools, horses, packs. sometimes even the floors.

itts kinda annoying since i was settting up nice outposts, like the one with floored around the well and planted trees forming a sheep pen.

its kind of Jasons fault, he made enginee stealing and destroying possible. it was never needed and  has a lot of down sides

mainly the number of ghost towns increased because of  it.
even bell towns get scavenged badly. when they stel an engne, you would need engien and oil from the get go to repopulate and claim it as a homeland. we were complaining on it in github, i mentioned long ago how bad it is, he didnt cared until others complained.
thats how the cistter change came.

but its rather rare that cities have leftover water when they die out. even if they do, its not a stable state. i saw a lot of dead towns fully floored down with a lot of animals. not having an engine and oil kills it. and people run around a bit more and nott havign wild food, they eat up the restt of towns food and then is trully dead.

then tthere are idiots who make decisions they shouldn't. a black family had a nice startign camp with nice deserts around 2 mines, a dead town with resoruces, an ice biome above.
somebody ran away like 300 tiles then they had mroe babies and people quit ust to have more people around. later they thought the original city is the outpost. and even if there were bettr condittions there, they choose to go back to that other dump. often times people even stteal i nfrontt of you.

like they see you got 4-5 people so they ttake all your food and packs, etc.
the most annoying the horse thiefs who justt run in and take the horse carts and dont ask shit.

its been a trend for quite a while, white people are the most useless and hard to find, they hoard a lo of sttuff since they cant make it. it really pisses me off seeing they got 4-5 horses and ruin any progress you make in other places.

of ten times you can make a nice ttown design in 2-3 hours then let people move in, but the lazy thiefs ruin all the nice things.

i swear in tthe rift i felt as i wa being followed, any time i made progress in a camp, all the valuables were taken, nobody made anytthing they just moved it.

#100 Re: Main Forum » Some math - When is the break evean for a plow? » 2020-07-18 16:37:26

micromanaging carts isn't fun or exact

the way I ade that it will stop on a fixed position where you can have jobs to do, one stops the other at exact location and can go back
