It's always the griefers who throw around the term anti-griefing as if its supposed be meaningful or something. We're the people playing the game as intended aka normally, and you're the folks who actively ruin it.

Its funny having this come from the person who spear headed cutting down maples during the rift to trigger end conditions and so people couldnt make fires. Cut arcs shorts in the early days because they were pissed. Locked up resources and enslaved families because they could.

If you are going to call Tarr a griefer, you might as well call out Jason for that time he released a swarm of bears on a town as divine retribution.

But of course, you know that Tarr isn't part of the griefer problem.   You are just trying to muddy the waters.

I thought it was obvious that Jason is a griefer.

#102 Re: Main Forum » What did you do today in OHOL? » 2020-09-25 00:43:33

very frustrating life. The engine of the white fam got stolen. I retrieved them an engine and some kerosine. with the help of a gatekeeper I stored it inside the gate. They got two more engines after that and more kerosine. I got latex for them and more palm kernels. Then I heard a lady say that they need water. So I chased after gatekeepers to get them to run the well (there where three gates). A gatekeeper (from a different gate) finally followed me and then she gave gate access to here hole family... I'm pissed. After all that trouble she ruined it for her fam. A griever will be born, those engines will get destroyed. The kerosine will be stolen or all dumped into a racecar. She even asked me why I think that the engines will get destroyed XD. I told her I know the game. She told me I should trust more and that she knows the game too because she played thirtyseven hours XD. People just don't fucking care. You can try to warn them, but they don't listen. And then they gonna sit there crying that there is no more water.

I want to do veteran stuff. Make engines, get oil. But it feels so pointless because you are working on the long term survival of the town and that just doesn't work out. The engines get destroyed, the oil hidden, wasted. This is why I stay away from veteran stuff. I still get tempted to do it sometimes, but most of the time it is just frustrating.

#103 Re: Main Forum » What did you do today in OHOL? » 2020-09-24 15:32:59

I was born in a ginger fam. They set up a small village, but there was no iron. So I prepared some pies and confinced them to find their leader. That person was not in town so I hoped that he or she was in their original town. They followed me with pie and goose baskets in hand, but I didn't had enough time to reach their leader. But before I died I saw a well marker pointing south. So I told them that there was a town south, knowing that I wouldn't last long enough to bring them to their leader. Then I died. In My next life I was brown. I set out to find my ginger fam. I wanted to know if they made it and where in a good spot. I found them. They are in a good spot, the town I pointed them too. It has iron and all they need. This makes me happy. They made it.

#104 Re: Main Forum » What did you do today in OHOL? » 2020-09-24 04:19:41

I made my first diesel engine oil rig while the town was starving. Got three tanks and then I starved and the town died.

#105 Re: Main Forum » Why won't Jason consider marriage » 2020-08-27 20:34:35

I would do it like this for example: a black man travels to a white village and marries a white woman. This woman will then still be able to produce white childen,  but she also has the chance to produce black male children. This way you can have diverse cities without it being a permanent part of that town.

Yikes. We're all happy here to grab our pitchforks and torches when appropriate but you ever think this might not be right time for it?

I think Jason has bigger issues than appeasing random people on the internet right now.

You know when you see an opportunity you just can't pass up. Ya'll probably secretly laughed.

You cannot prove that I'm guilty.

This idea was actually one of the possibilities when discussing using tools when they have no slots left. I personally felt it was always better to just let the person die instead of wasting resources on the person.

Example: Trying to start a fire with maxed out slots gave you a chance of catching on fire and requiring a bucket of water from someone else to save you. People aren't valuable unless it's the last girl so why waste the water saving the village idiot?

While it adds benefits to having people who are nurses it is just plain better to let the person die and respawn back as it extends their time with a new life + wastes less resources getting reborn.

But people are resources too (sorry for sounding like a communist). Their time and knowledge can be very valuable and there is no garenty that they will respawn in your village. Even when it is the village idiot, that person can still be someone that does a minor task and that can be very helpfull and timesaving.  Like bringing kindling to the smith so that the smith can consentrate on smithing.
I wouldn't waste a full bucket, maybe a bowl of water. That wouldn't be a big loss.

If you solve the problem with the water, everything is done!
Extreme weather, pests, natural disasters, etc ... create new challenges and new objectives, but currently OHOL does not have that.
that is why OHOL cannot be considered a survival game

It seems that many players on these forums have not yet realized that this style of play will end the game itself
When I wrote about the death of animals in the other post, I was referring to just that: creating new challenges!
but it seems that the 50 OHOL players prefer to live and die in a dull cycle without many changes in the mechanics of the game

It is kinda boring. I feel like the game is more restricted now in playstyles and challenges. It's always the same repetitive cycle of water and food.

I also don't really miss the murder holes, but on the other hand it did sometimes bring some excitement and memorable stories.

About the plague I was thinking more of a medieval style of plague, may be caused by the corpses that are littering the towns to long. It would make gravedigging an actual job that needs to be done or people will get sick.

I miss the time that nursing whas still usefull. It's still good to have it, but it doesn't seem to matter that much anymore. Stabbings and arrow wounds are rare. Same with animal attacks. In the old times I would dropkick a toddler to get that nursing apron, but now it just doesn't matter.

I wished that nursing became usefull again. Maybe some deseases, a plague (with a cool new plague doctor mask), malnutrition, a STD. Something that needs treatment. And more wounds that needs treatment. We have 8 year old kids running around with knives, for god sake can't they trip and loose an eye. Or an axe injury that makes you loose an arm. A tattoo that gives you an infection, alcoholism, drug addiction, postnatal depression.

I want sickness and despair. I want people to suffer, so I can heal them.

#112 Re: Main Forum » What's your favourite names for kids? » 2020-08-08 21:14:47

For my first born son: Aiden

For my first born daughter: Yuna (after my own daughter)

after that:
boys: Damien, Dorian, Dondi
Girls: luna, runa, audri, jodi

Sometimes the game just shuts down completely. It's something recent since the last update or the one before that. I don't know what cause it.

I use awbz mod, maybe it is related to that.

Sorry for the trouble, everyone.

i haven't had this much fun in the game for a long time. It was enoying when you got disconnected but overall I really liked the change of the routine and the different eve's that sometimes stayed together in one town.

#115 Re: Main Forum » Server crashes after update » 2020-06-27 21:41:27

I picked a banana from a tree and I ate it. I was white. Desert and jungle glitched out for a while. It was amazing. I picked the forbidden fruit and ate it.

Donkersloot is actually the first possible name if you try to name your family 'donkey'.

And then a big horde of bears came in. I took a horse to keep the bears on me so they could shoot them with less risk. They did. Great. problem solved. So I returned to my cooking station and then they shoot me. I hope you enjoyed the burritos. Would also have made taco's and omelets, but that's not so easy with an arrow sticking out of you. I got the message, never try to help.

I really liked the idea of those yum tables. I had fun contributing to it. Good luck with that.

------------

In the abandoned brown town with the walled in swamp tree I still have my diesel engine and some kerosine stored in lock boxes at the iron vein. The keys are behind the walled in swamp tree. Someone should go get that.

#120 Re: Main Forum » Has anyone tried using fences like Jason says? » 2020-04-30 19:50:36

I saw an engine inside a fence. And then it was gone. It's impossible to protect your engine. Maybe a hour or two and then it is scrapmetal. You can not know who can be trusted with gate ownership. It's like playing tetris. You will lose every time. You can not win. If I wanted to play tetris, I would be playing tetris. Jason grieved every veteran that ever made an engine. It is hard work and he made it possible to destroy it in two seconds.

#121 Re: Main Forum » Jason, what's OUR motivation » 2020-04-28 08:11:22

I've spend some lifes in an abandoned village to make every yum food in the game. That was fun until I could no longer find the village. I could locate it using the distance to the expert villages but they died out.

Just theorising here, what if two people work together to take over donkey town? One makes a plane in a regular town. The other one makes a flight pat near an advanced donkey town. You fly in a vagina from the regular town. Take over the well when the donkey eve dies or your mule owns the well and simple has to die and then the vagina takes the well. Flop out some babies. congrats you have an advanced town build on the blood, sweat and tears of the donkeys. Could that work?

Of course they will be fine, Caprys.

Bears are great.   Loyal, loving, and dependable.    Once you meet a bear, you have a friend for life.

Most of them use a zoom mod for their grieving. They see the bear coming.
