Greifers certainly have been targeting specialist families. Just be glad they a little more spread out now. Late nights in the rift were a non-stop war zone of these cats.
Some people enjoy the struggle once the "leisure life" is achieved their usefulness has lapsed and it becomes mine craft. Some people are pioneers and other people are city slickers. ![]()
LOL! I didn't realize you could carrot pie without mashing, not that I make that many carrot pies. Which came first the mashed carrot pie or the carrot pie? Clearly the mashed carrot pie is superior tho. lmao
Yes they are Spoon because the single race towns around the big city come there to trade. To expand on their own, hence the center of trade. As oil runs out we expand west and the outlier towns now become the new centers for trade and expansion.
One could also say *trade is a profession so if I'm a ginger in a multiracial town and someone says hey we need oil well I'm gonna perform my trade as a roughneck and trade labor occurs. So yeah trade still happens in the broad sense even if no exchange took place, once again hence CENTER FOR TRADE in the fullest sense of the term.
*trade - 2. a skilled job, typically one requiring manual skills and special training
Yes actually griefers make the game for me....hunting and squashing them out of town is quite fun tbh. I literally wouldn't play this game if Jason removed greifers as you call them or subversives as I call them. This is strictly pve game without greifers and well I don't really play pve sandbox games. News flash guards are meta so better learn and spread the word.
Seriously through the night I would guard against an onslaught of griefers it was fucking the best game play I've had in sometime...literally kicking the shit out of the griefers in the rift. Organizing my hearth stocking meds training kids and waiting for the assholes to come and try to kill me and my family. I LOVED IT! I smashed those plebs so hard...notice the griefers group up now? Because I educated the players around me and kept families alive through the thin hours of the night so they started teaming up more often...no shit.
True I can't be in every town all the time...but I can ask someone to fill guard when I'm old which I typically will if the town is advanced enough for me to full time guard. Honestly a town guard is as important as blacksmith and cook, it just is rarely filled because is non-obvious role to be filled.
Create a post (job) write up post and everything that entails it gear responsibilities and disseminate* to community. Ensure post is filled before dying. Hey guess what? guard gomez in every town now.
TBH very few players have the insight into the procession involved in actually establishing and maintaining function and order in the town.
Also Yes sometimes I don't vet kids fully given circumstances sometimes you're busy or desperate.
* disseminate - spread (something, especially information) widely
Not sure why people have a problem with advanced cities required to be multi-cultural and centers for trade.
Tbh things just aren't always lying around to be stolen thats pretty shallow that's the take on it...or just scavenge. You've never come across a black dude planting gooseberry bushes and offered to finish his farm while he goes looking for a horse with the lasso you made? You can bet if I'm a ginger in need of latex I'm gonna bring a bucket and a knife in case I find a brown town that doesn't have a knife yet and doesn't have any rubber to just take. While I'm there I'll leave em a bucket of salt water or club a seal nearby just to be a bro and give something back.
smfh trade is exchange you don't necessarily need to be observed when trading long as leave something in place of what you have taken trade has taken place. You can come up with ways to avoid trading or screw over the village you rob its really up to you.
TLDR : adding this would eliminate a major portion of the game I enjoy, which is playing detective and town cop.
Next vet kids, I do this by first establishing communication those I can't communicate with are useless to me. Hence "hi baby" proper response "H" and only "H" is accepted. All other responses rejected failure to submit proper response child abandoned.
Next is a follow test will they listen and carry out an order.
Next I generally show or teach them what I'm currently doing and I really don't care if they already know this is more about obedience at this point and willingness to be helpful to "mom". The child should be silent and observing not telling me "IK" or "IDC" or running off the grab clothing.
Kid goes for clothing instead of listening to mama he get a quick lesson on you need mama feed you not backpack and watch them starve.
Baby makes angry face? Instant rejection typically unless used in some appropriate manner.
TLDR : Know thy neighbor.
For me an entire portion of the game is finding and eliminating subversive people in the village. I wouldn't really want it to be handled for me via in game technology.
Not many people even play that portion of the game I have a few strategies for "founding towns". By founding town I mean having a positive interaction with a player and declaring them publicly good, which may go something like this.
"John the smith is good, help John the smith." So town then consists of me and john....at least my "town".
It also help me remember who i trust...so anytime i see someone doing positive things for town I add them to my town and state it publicly a few times around town.
Pretty soon I've got a few people I know who are good productive citizens and hopefully they've reciprocated the feeling, usually they do.
So now you've gotten to know a few of your neighbors you see a loafer or someone loading up four pies in a backpack or doing something else perhaps suboptimal maybe a minor error or crime. Correct them as polite as possible...those who won't accept the correction one strike...this is no smoking gun just a tic on the scoreboard of good or evil.
Next ask them "what do?" As in like wtf are you gonna do for town besides eat four pies?
No proffesion no plan? another tic at this point two tics means perma follow til I see him in a profession or doing something positive. As soon as major crime observed report to players in my town if i have them and spread word publicly. This may be met with skepticism at which point other players can observe the accused. If town accepts claim kill griefer, after the kill spam the accusation and delcare guard and justice kill.
Honestly its like a town of salem mini game for me...if you are familiar with that game style it has many versions of it ultimate werewolf, mafia tons out there in the genre just like turn based murder mysteries.
Yeah the pine houses early are very useful. Takes so much food pressure off especially with the ez mode food rates. Can be a task keep door closed very worth it tho.
Not to mention the city planning and template it establishes.
honestly buildings are more worth it now they're a bit slow to build tho especially early without tire carts.
Actually had two different lives last night where town rallied on building one was a finished pine four by four and the other was a 4x4 adobe which we even plastered 8 of the the walls.
High quality stone building with bear rugs is pretty legit on food save though.
They also help keep town organized and zoned e.g. bakery, smith hearth
Seems they're getting some buffs too.
Expected and fine.
pretty industrious miskas ha!
I had the same reaction from a guy when I showed him the beri bowl the simple things lol. told him hold that beri bowl for dear life as child OHOL'ers have no qualms about robbing berrie's from a child, LMFAO!
best way to communicate need for firewood as baby is mae angry or sad face over fire and tryto grab wood...usually gets their attention.
body language and facial expression go a long way as a "helpless" baby
my favorite is charging around the bear ravaging camp making angry face while mother looks on in horror.
also bouncing the rubber ball is one of my favorite youth activities. lol
whe-re-dic-e? ![]()
Thats the old system he uncapped the top end and bottom. you can have 0 tool slots and all the tools now with high and low enough fitness.
unsure on the actual contribution for long life getting around .2 .3 living to 60 at over 100 fitness.
Haha I saw the stone before it was ancient I almost pickaxe the walls just to get the ducks lol. I figure eh what the hell looks pretty funny I'll leave it alone.
Me and ducks got beef ![]()
we'll what happens with the fix likely a ladder reset incoming tbh
if its too good to be true well...105 and fitness and legit some good players on last night made gains pretty easy
cisterns and horse tire carts can bring in quite a bit of tank water from newcomen pumps. looks really cool!
It is distressing how often communication is flat out ignored in this game....I get get cursed for repeating myself after no acknowledgement tbh...seriously.
helpful players are out there just few and far between, plus given the one hour nature of a lifespan players are often too involved in their own projects to stop and smell the roses so to speak.
I've had a few starve while I'm teaching them perhaps I should include a beri bowl with all lessons. LOL
Greenwood, getting to know villagers is a major thing we haven't been doing as a player base that a great point. Know thy neighbor?
yep totes, also making camp essentials at the well allows for well hopping to find other families and the well line will also help other families find the town. If you make some camp essentials you may even get lucky enough for another race to move into unknowingly next door to where they need to be, ha!
Yes you've given griefers a safe haven but they still gotta eat and my yum gives me the edge in the mexican standoff. I've yet to meet a griefer that yums and even if they did my chain is longer and I usually have the next yum lined up in bag So I def have more food in my tank.
The flip side is it doubles as a panic room from would be killers.
I don't think is meant as frontier exploration tool more as a means of preserving a map in a city from being tossed in the woods....ancient waystone in town can't be removed by griefer to lose pertinent destination. Also seems to be a method of establishing flight paths. It's a great idea imo.
Honestly if I want a temp marker or road to a location I use an axe and make a lumber road with cut trees. Cut an obvious tree every twenty or so tiles and even a non zoom player can track it.
yeah which is why today the top went from 65 to almost 100. its painfully obvious to any watching the board when the abuse started.
I'm legit 77 bruh I'll hit ninety legit lol will just take me longer
living to 60 each life and setting sound policy in villages and preserving tech. doing it in the spirit of the metric. Stats are nice but mean nothing if gained abusively, familiar with ethical practices?
fuq it was painfully obvious the 90s were cheese thats why I called out the how the fuck u doing this thread.
silly old me raising my sisters abandoned children, teaching noobs to basic survival, making eve camps to spread population, sawing logs and drilling discs with my bonus tool slots to gain fitness. I could list more positive things I've done to make other players live longer.
hell I'm cheaters tail go on exploiting score while I solve actual problems of short life spans I'll see ya at the top bugo bois.
you exploiters are funny way more challenging and rewarding doing it legit and actually being good at the game mechanics, why rob self of learning by fake score? for eve spawn? for status? so you do everything self in multiplayer game? silly silly tsk tsk naughty bois
I'm not worried bout keeping up with the jonses I'll stick to being a beneficial impact on villages I spawn at rather than farming them for some meaningless metric, because if the metric is gained thru nefarious mean it loses any meaning as you have simply taken and not given and are a parasite or a bug? LOOOOOOOOOL
So its safe to assume the top players are exploiting to 90+ and the mid 80s are the competent honest players?
Good simple solution cool man. Give Jason problem he find simple solution. Quality of life goes up.
Crazy how a population boom can cause so much server chaos...well it is a survival game true to the name I dig it.
