#1251 Re: Main Forum » You see a knife on the ground, what do you do? » 2019-03-18 18:17:52

If I have a bag it goes in the bag and I take on the job of killing sheep and slicing bread if no one is doing that. If someone is doing that I just keep it and keep an eye out for a young person with a bag who seems industrious to give it to.

If I end up with multiple knives I make them in to shears.

or take it apart if it is new and put the blade only in a pack to give to someone a trusted adult etc.

If I have no bag I pick it up and put it in a container near the bakery or sheep or hold it until a person with a bag takes it.

Knives should not be out on the ground.

You think getting as many kills as possible in a life is hard? Making a car is hard? No, here is the hardest challenge:

Remove a row of berries from the center of a patch in a life time. Anyone who can do that is the master of this game.

#1253 Re: Main Forum » What do you loot? » 2019-03-18 03:36:45

I was a guy in that life so the old lady was probably my niece who I showed the camp to with one other young woman just before I died.

The kind of bush I want to remove most is always in the center of a massive patch. I guess I could work down the row. Though, I'm not the most dexterous person so... this will be frustrating.

Bread and carrot pies are not that great.

Bread is good for putting near the berries if you must have them, since it's not too many pips per slice it isn't wasted by kids like pies and stew. And kids can put a single slice in an apron or pack if you have so many clothes that most of your kids are dressed.

we used to plant them together
this mentality needs to change! told my daughter keep spacing, told my son cut boards
made 2x3x3 patches surrounded by boards as Eve
38 gen later they had 10x3x3 patches

you don't put cows in sheep pen
you make 1x1 pen for it

I admire you so much for this. Teach all children to space the bushes, that way if you must have them, you can at least pick the suckers. And how about the time wasted by walking to water and soil berries in the middle of a vast patch.

This experiment was a bit extreme, but seriously even large towns only need about 3 2x6 rows of berries tops with walkways in between. Small towns can make do with two.

I have tried to recruit people to help me remove berry bushes and I can get a few out and a few boards down in a life time, but it's really hard to get people's attention and once I starved standing with the shovel waiting for a girl to come back to water the bush so I could dig it up.

Berries are a god dam blight I tell you.

I would have gone for clothes but the camp was old enough that those had all decayed. Good point about buckets, ropes even more so since you can fit 3 in a slot. We also brought back the broken carts.

I take babies who do this to the goose stump. Much better to use /sad, and /blush and even /hubba so your mum will like you. A loud kid is not wanted no thankyou.

I do think this can be done. I've met players who didn't talk and gotten on with them just fine...

I just had a really fun game where, when out looking for rabbits I found another town where everyone was gone. It was perhaps a 7th gen camp with a nice stack of forged steel, nice milkweed garden. some iron bars and a bunch of tools. I filled up my cart and went back to tell the others where it was, but I was getting old... as I filled the cart I thought "if this is all they get from this town I should get the best stuff, the things we need most!" So, I went for in this order

-new tools, that fit in basktes that i knew we didn't have
-tools like shears that take two iron and go in baskets or bags
-forged steel
-forged iron
-prepared but uncooked stew pot (so much labor in that one)
-wool balls
-new tolls that take up a whole basket slot

What would you get first? What might one get that isn't obvious? What is the most value you can put in a single cart, generally speaking.

I made it back in time and showed my nieces and nephews the village so they started making trips with more carts. I hope this give the linage a boost!

FYI wild berries ARE allowed in the "no berry" town, just not planting of gooseberry patches. I'm sick of seeing vast fields of berry bushes LOL.

honestly if you don't talk to our about killers they mostly ignore you. They seem to go after the people sounding the alarm or telling them to stop.

Ah well thank you for trying the nutty idea.

Whenever I see that town I /die, but I keep seeing it? Ah well. The next time I'm born there I will make an effort to be a positive force.

I agree with this opinion.

And If you have a knife, you should periodically check the pen or kitchen and kill sheep.

If you hid the only knife in your bag and you were so engrossed in other things that you made the twon starve... you're griffer.

Generally agree. I'm pretty good about checking on sheep and baking, though in that town there were too many knives so I put one that was on the ground in my bag as my mother was stabbed with it.

I don't bother with tacos unless there is surplus food. Which there was.

#1266 Re: Main Forum » Sh*t greifers say » 2019-03-17 16:41:12

What is with griefers and not even really knowing the basics of the game? It's funny to watch. This one kid was like "give me a knife" I told my mom not too since she had no good reason for wanting one. later she stabbed me and it was just funny to watch how long it took her to figure it all out. She was having trouble stabbing me so I just stood still. Like "Ok come one do it I know you can figure this out"

#1267 Re: Main Forum » Tacos and Burritos » 2019-03-17 15:25:04

I was in a town where someone made a true taco station. It had many flat rocks, carnitas all ready and bowls galore. I made a lot of food in that life. I also made a kindling pile for the station and moved it from the desert because with the fire you get way too hungry when cooking. Thank you taco-brother or taco-sister. You made this all possible.

I also saw this being used to trap people. it also means there are graves all over the place. I liked that it took effort to make one that lasted (letters.)

Agree with the whistle being for adults. It's just one more fun reason to grow up. Gladly the sounds have calmed down. I'm not as frazzled anymore. LOL-- I'm rather sensitive to goofy little repeating sounds. I enjoy most of the sounds in the game especially the flattening of the dough.

Squash seeds have always been hard to keep track of. Normally you find the seed under the plate after chopping the squash. Multiple times since the update there has been no see there. Other players in game saw the issue too. I'm scared to make soup.

#1274 Re: Main Forum » antking's bad idea (which should be implamented) » 2019-03-16 22:40:22

How about this: make domestic berry seeds very very hard to obtain. This would make other kinds of farming more important, and it would slow the compost cycle.

This is the town where Toxic was a drug dealer. LOL what a location.
