With current cooldown that may be the case.  Hope they won't die from karōshi.

#177 Re: Main Forum » I Started a Prison » 2018-07-15 05:04:20

We have a tough task of making prison attractive to griefers.  Hmm, maybe in addition to milkweed plantation, we should toss unwanted kids there so griefers can shoot them?  One rope, one kid?

Don't worry, I'm working on taxes proposal.  Besides we have already a prison in one of the towns.  I'm still waiting for the report from first inmate there.

I think only real defense is leading the bear away. If you tempwalk and you get a perfect temp to
hold you can get the bear lost decently far from camp.

I never even tought about temp walking in this situation.  I can lure bear away while foraging and making another arrow.  Hmm, so maybe only lag spikes on server are real problem.  I literally got killed with bear off-screen.

Still would be nice to know who poked it.  That's pure griefing.

I didn't and still got beared.  Killing them all is safer...

I would agree that it's a dick move if they run off on their own accord just to poke the bear.  That's nonsense.

I had exactly this thing today.  Was hunting rabbits.  Kid pops out.  I feed him once and go to grab some food.  Kid runs to poke close bear cave.  I've tried to name his grave to cruse him, but unfortunately it doesn't work.  Didn't do any real damage, but still dickish move.

Trick wrote:

That said, older settlements who are near bear caves should be bear-proofing their town (i.e., make the bear cave inaccessible somehow).

I'm not talking about older settlments - that's trivial.  I'm talking 2, early 3 gen camp.  Bear cave was fairly close, so I made a bow, first arrow, two more in progress.  But kids kept popping out and I fed them.  That slowed me down.   One of the brats that I fed probably poked the bear.  Scumbag.  I tried to lure the bear away but he hit me off-screen - lagging server or smth.

Any ideas for defense early on?   Bears are laughable later on, but milkweed and time for bow and three arrows is very expensive in early camp.

You are only prolonging it.  Famine kills noobs just fine.  Only people that can forage survive.

#183 Re: Main Forum » Any way to track who let the bear out? » 2018-07-15 04:12:05

For what?  They had no choice to have you or not.

And besides, they run of just to poke the bear, before they can be named - pure dickish move.

I know.  But having it bulit in would help a lot.

No, I really hope Twins (if poor mom manages to raise them) could be a massive asset to a civ.
I have had lives with people who I've worked in perfect sync with, using very little communication and got so much more done than usual.
Being able to tell each other exactly what's going on/needed/plans ahead, can only further that efficiency. Also less time typing is more time building!

That's probably asking for too much.  But could we have voice chat built in for twins?  Are there any libraries available, that would make that simple for Jason?

Any error messages?  Where are you extracting it?  Maybe you've got incompleted file.  Redownload and try again.

That can help to find kids on Eve run.  OTOH the headache in towns will be enormous.  So I'm split.

That sounds complicated.

I just found out that changing settings/enableSpeedControlKeys.ini from 0 to 1 is enough, no need to mess with vsync GPU settings.  Press ) (shift+0) and then Alt-TAB out of the game.  You won't see what's happening, only hear the sounds, but it will fast forward quite rapidly.  Alt-TAB back from time to time.

I know right, most of my friends think it's stupid. Funny how people can come together as friends and still have such different interests. That's another subject entirely though.

Tell them it's a minecraft on steroids wink

I lilke that.  Using their disadvantage as advantage.  Once I put down the cart their mean time to be stolen is about 5 seconds.

Yay!  I asked for a name and some dude picked me up and said "you are nameless".  I became Nameer.  I told him he adopted me.  He was like "WTF?".  Then I told him that he owes me alimony and I demanded backpack.  I haven't got one.  So sad.  He then asked me to marry him instead, but I was still pre-teen.

Dear forum, were should I report this?  He surely deserves some jail time...
