To begin with we needed this no-solo system because of griefers using medical vests to repeatedly heal each other, meaning that even if you wounded them several times they wouldn't actually die until all their pads were exhausted.
That's not true. I've seen situations like this in the past. Majority was able to kill all griefers at once before they could even heal each other, we had no killing waiting time period yet, so it was an easy task. Kill griefers and heal good people. Simple as that. The only confusion was who is good and who is not, it wasn't always obvious.
Together with curses people rarery were killing innocent people, they didn't want to get cursed for doing this.
We still had pretty big amount of kills per day... But probably most of them deserved to die, or asked to be killed for fun which happened often. It was a good system.
Together with the system that doesn't allow you to join a posse if your last life was short and the system which doesn't allow to join a posse with your twins, bobo and his team could do nothing, because they would never spawn in the same family I guess.
Yeah, that makes more sense.
What if you could follow only your family members? You couldn't exile other family members. This way you couldn't just go to other families and kill them. That means if you go to another family's town, you can be killed, but you can't kill their family members, and that's good I guess.
So, let's say an Eve has two kids - Aria and Lily. Aria has one kid Maya, and Lily has one kid John.
Eve dies, Aria becomes the leader because she is older. Lily has now no leader but one follower, if she had no kids she would be an easy target, unless she follows Aria or her kid.
I don't know, while connecting killing with leadership may feel good, it may be too unintuitive, unless we had only one big hierarchy per town. We don't know how many hierarchies are there in our family, our "allies" are always random people, the leader may as well be a griefer who kills you before you can change ur leader.
I don't know. Solo killing was simple and beauty. It had everything that we needed to fight against griefers, we could heal good people and always defend. If healing was buffed a little (one fleece would give 3 healing pads) it would be simple and perfect in my opinion.
Connecting killing with leadership is a great idea in my opinion.
But only if leadership system works good. Currently it was pretty much dead content, but "perpetual leadership" may change it. I'm not sure how it will turn out to work, people rarery use "I follow you" command, gotta see it live and I will tell more.
So, I just played a life as a brown person. We had diesel water pump, but no kerosene. I wrote a note, took a rubber ball and a pencil, got a few empty tanks, and went to gingers to ask for kerosene.
They were at newcomen pump stage, pretty nice town... But they had no kerosene for some reason... I mean, that happens all the time. And if gingers have no kerosene, nobody has it.
I donated them latex and palm kerners for empty buckets, but they still had no sulphur, no horses, no steel pipes to make oil runs.
So the idea is, we all should donate gingers as often as possible. They should be drowning in latex, sulphur, palm kerners and horses. We should also donate them steel pipes, many many steel pipes, especially white people should do it, since they can't offer anything else.
In return gingers would share crude oil, they always should have it, they should make oil runs right away, it's very useful in kerosene newcomen pump stage anyways, and oil runs would be a pleasure if we had all resources ready right away.
There are only 4 families, we live in every of them, we should help each other more often and things will be better. Gotta deal with biome restrictions and with that Jason won't remove them. We should adapt or we will always lack kerosene.
Help other families, especially when you are born as a male, gingers always at first!

One hour one pain...
Uninstall (then you can also make sure the game folder is gone, if not, delete it), install again, first time run the game via steam, it must work.
Can't believe you still struggle with this simple issue...
Forgiveness system (/uncurse) should also come together with this. So people can rehabilitate and get uncursed when needed.
I can't agree with you Spoonwood. With a realistic killing system all he could do is to try stealth grief. But once I see this happen he better not enter the town again. Even if he had an organised group, majority was always winning vs minority in old days.
I mean, waiting period helps innocent players too, but we have healing pads to heal them, right?
In the end it does much more harm, because griefers have much more use of it.
I would say, yes turn it off, together with the waiting period which only benefits experienced griefers.
And also boost healing pads so we get 3 from a single fleece.
Times have changes, people won't be killing because there is nothing to do and they are bored. In these times there are always so many things to do. Griefers will kill innocent people sometimes, but we will be able to defend against them. Most of the time griefers will be the victims... And people who ask to be killed just for fun. I believe we would have much less griefing.
Yeah, we definitely have more griefing now. Griefing ruins this game and people's experience.
Yeah, we have less killing now, but were all kills bad before? How many of them deserved to die? How many of them asked to be killed just for fun?
You removed killing as a way to grief while at the same time added possibilities to grief in many other ways.
People feel impunity, thiey grief more in worse ways.
Killing was a harmless way of griefing, it didn't hurt towns, nor families as long as they had fertile women.
Organized team can kill whole families whenever they want now, but that's cool you feel happy about the number drop of killing.
I feel so powerless when I see people griefing, I hope you happy about it too.
Even if swords had never existed, Bobo could have let loose domestic boars like he did in the last three videos above.
One expert player would be enough to end them very quickly.

That's why I stealth curse people. Because most of them curse back "in revenge" and not for an actual reason. I don't know the situation, but seems like your mom knew about yumming and she was working. You basically blocked useful person from playing with you.
I lived in brown's fam yesterday when it happened, I'm in the video there. I tried to convince my family that they will kill everyone of us, pulled out a knife and tried to kill them, telling my fam to join me. No result, they killed me faster.
There is no chance fighting against an organised group. It never happened in the old killing system times where you actually needed more people than defenders to win a fight like this.

Yes, I would want to have uncurses too. Last time this issue was posted on github, Jason said something like "just be careful who you curse".
It shouldn't be about being careful IMO, by cursing someone you saying "I don't want to play with you". But if you mistakenly cursed someone with who you actually want to play, you should be able to undo it.
People aren't perfect, it's like not having ctrl+z shortcut in computers :D
and only showing you VISITOR notifications for your gate when you're far from home (and also at most one per minute, max)
I liked visitor notifications and now they are kinda useless... Dead content I guess, I may be wrong tho.

Poor water decisions (like eating berries) wouldn't be that bad if we had more water. Wells get dry fast, people are too noob to even get water from ponds.
But at least it's not boring anymore, there are always so many things to do.
After the update it will give tank of water with 8 uses (8 buckets of water). That means we get 4 buckets from one use of kerosene - the same amount as from using it on diesel water pump. That means there is no reason to not make kerosene newcomen pumps whenever we have kerosene.
No need to wait for diesel engine before making oil, we should start with oil right away... Damn, that's a pretty nice buff for gingers, since only they can make oil.
Tho, main well isn't the only way to get water, we can always make more wells nearby, get water from ponds... I don't really know why towns lately so rarery have full cisterns of water.
