Wasn't this a rework of an old internet game?

I've heard that the main gripe is that the rogue part of it is a little to strong in the beginning. You have to go through a little to much to get past the first step, and since its a rogue it's even punishing in that first step.

I mean a free gimmie to get your feet wet and know what could await is always nice.

#227 Re: Main Forum » Naming your kids » 2019-10-01 17:12:43

I personally love the list.

Ive found favorite names on accident by trying to name them something that wasn't on the list (like rune and delton)

My only gripe with the name list is that the name "helga" isn't on there. I think the list is actually taken from the census (I could be wrong) and I'm just surprised NOBODY named a kid helga.. but somehow somebody named a kid Helios?

We have so much less of this than before. A map that's guaranteed to be wiped 3-5 times a week has a lot less permanence than a dynamically culled map. Previously, whenever you lived in a town you didn't know what it's fate would be. Now you know for a fact that the town will be gone by the end of the week, no matter what..

Gotta disagree after the last arc. I kept going back to the same town at the end of my lives (usually a day apart) and just being kinda in awe at how much it grew and developed. It had its own decorative taste, and the amount of time put into that town could be seen.

I thought I was going to wake up today to see the arc still going and calls for jason to reset it, but it ended up resetting without it.

Also yes old towns COULD last over the course of weeks (casino town) but they weren't populated that entire time. It was very sporadic population. Even back then you didn't know if your town would make it (like eve starts now) and you just built because thats what you do anyways.

So I think there is a middle ground to resets.

A town lasting more than a week probably shouldn't happen, but there should only be 1 or 2 resets a week.

Agreed, but I dont think 3 is off the table for getting back, in some kind of form.

Also its possible to basically be eve and start a new village from the ground up 3 days into an arc. I said it before but during our longest, most strenuous arc, it happened (I think pein made it)

+1 to fug

A chance for ONE new family, even if every 24 hours, would alleviate the two family dilemma.

Made me think maybe there should be a set limit on the arc.

If the the reset just happened at like 7500 years regardless, I don't think people would mind. Especially if there was some kind of reward for making it to the end. What the reward would be, I have no idea.

"Current arc has been going 700 years. The arc name is PANIC REVOLT."

I second that maybe the name should be on the home page with current arc length.

Well if it doesn't work, he'll be back on the discord to try and brag like he always does, and we'll let ya know.

#237 Re: Main Forum » Reports of the Arc » 2019-09-24 21:29:01

From what I remember reading on the discord, the jones family actually almost wiped the Posillico first. Then the Posillico's came back and almost took them all out. Then the jones pushed back again and the arc ended

Hell even just add the bow rope needing to be cooked in a bowl over a fire.

Horse carts are currently bugged. If anything is placed inside, you are unable to drive it.

Regular carts are still fine

#241 Re: Main Forum » When new players experience the arc reset for the first time » 2019-09-20 17:52:06

I had a new player right before reset. I asked him if there was anything he wanted to know how to do, and his only answer was asking how to make emotes like /yoohoo and /love.

I left him in the berry patch where he went to work, and I went to work dyeing hats.

I was in the middle of dyeing blue hats and giving them out when the apocalypse came. I gave my new son a blue hat and then the screen went white.

I told him the apocalypse had come and he seemed kinda confused. I lost him in the chaos of rebuilding a new spot on our old one, and he starved not long after sad

I wouldn't worry too much. I think 8 full lives would still place you starting the 9th with things to be taught.

I doubt anyone would know to how to build structures, master farming, learn all the clothing and how to make it, or learn smithing and making tech.. all in 8 hours.

If I had to remember where I was at 8 hours, I probably hadn't even smithed or cooked anything yet.

The poles in ww2 had a tame bear that was in an artillery division. He actually got promoted to corporal, and carried ammo in the battle of monte cassino.

Wojtek was a good bear haha

#245 Re: Main Forum » Arc #?, The Monument, Thanks to Jamesen Firestone & THE WALL » 2019-09-11 02:57:13

I thought it was you building that wall at first lol, but then convinced myself it couldn't have been. You had one person helping you a couple lives right? Coulda sworn I saw two people working together.

#247 Re: Main Forum » Special biomes too rare » 2019-09-03 19:41:25

While I've had this frustration with the map, and have actually said out loud "there's no damn deserts anywhere!" I think they're actually pretty well balanced. That instance of me saying that was true for that spot of the map, but once I moved further south, it wasn't as bad at all.

#248 Re: Main Forum » If you see this notice in the game on Sunday or Monday... » 2019-09-01 06:53:41

I think I had an expo player today. I tought them how to compost and bake bread and pies.. Then gave them a shroom.. lol.

Yeah you can see them on the outside of the rift haha.

It was definitely offputting at first.
