Update here, if we're back online, after all players are off the servers.

I'm flying high. But the worst is never first, and there's a person that'll set you straight. Cancelling the force within my brain. For flying high. The simulator has been disengaged.

Yeah... all the fams died out during this Steam outage.
Good to see that there were still 8 fams left alive before this happened. The new BB distribution looks like it's working great. Lots of nice, evenly-thick family stripes.
I'm not sure exactly what happened, but I think a new Eve window opened up.
Oh, I know. When the player pop gets below 15, then the Eve window is disabled. So there were less than 15 non-Steam players online.
So... we get another fresh start w/out an apocalypse. This arc is gonna be a long one!
My kids wanted to play AOE2, and Steam was down!

I've never hooked up steam, and couldn't log in either. CCW was down too, probably because they check the ticket server.

Hmm... well, that's weird then.
I wonder if the broken steam logins were clogging up the ticket server (if each outbound request to Steam was hanging for a while, it would eat up all the available web server processes).
Steam was definitely down during that time, for sure.
