I actually liked wars too, barring the individual griefer Eves. With automatic leadership, it would make for some awesome tribal societies since conflict brings people together.
Can't we have a larger version of the Rift with somewhat regenerating wild resources? Not oil and such, but the basics for survival. But instead of arbitrary shadow walls, make it an ocean.

There were no wars. There was raiding.
Like 5 people would run into a town and kill everyone. That's all it was, mass slaughter. Wars requires both sides participation.
I do not miss my families being slaughtered over and over again. Multiple times in the same life most of the time.
